Obese need to lose weight fast! Help! Advice please!? -

I just started a diet yesterday. It s just drinking protein drinks. There s no food involved. So far, I m wanting to eat something but trying to be ok with this I m obese. I weigh 230 and I m 5 1 . I need to lose weight fast (and be able to eat something). I ve never been this weight and I m scared. Some advice please?!

Your diet is horrible. You have went from being unhealthy to being unhealthy. Just eat responsibly and be ACTIVE.

There is no diet that will allow you to take weight off fast without being harmful to your health. And, if you lose too much weight too fast, statistics are not in your favor to keep it off. I am overweight, (clinically obese) and I know how frustrating the desire to lose weight can be. But as a health professional, I know that the way to lose weight is not to cut out certain food groups, or starve, or anything like that. The key is to eat healthy foods in correct portion amounts, and add exercise slowly. Set a weight loss goal of 15 percent of your body weight over the course of a year- for you that would be around 30 pounds. I know, it sounds ridiculous, and slow, and frustrating, but that is actually a high percentage goal. But the alternative is to lose weight by fasting, or only drinking protein shakes, or cutting out carbs and red vegetables, or whatever the fad is. Those fad diets often do make you lose weight. But the second you go back to eating normally, you gain the weight back. You see, when you starve yourself to that degree, your body goes into a kind of fight or flight mode- it uses up your fat stores because it sees this extreme diet as a period of starvation. If you ever go back to eating normally, your body will want to recreate those fat stores even faster than normal to protect you from starving again. However, by losing weight slowly while still eating normal portions of healthier food, your body is not shocked, and you are nowhere near as likely to regain the weight. When it comes to exercise, take it slow. Walking can take you a long way (no pun intended), as can an exercise bike or swimming. And the good news is, heavier people burn calories faster than lighter people doing the exact same activity. The bottom line is:option A)140 pounds a year from now after drinking protein shakes and eating grapefruits nonstop, and then 250 a year later (or worse, in the hospital sick from the diet!!!!!)option B) 200 pounds a year from now. And then maybe 170 another year later, then 150, then 130. And so on. A weight loss you can maintain throughout your life that will benefit your overall health instead of harming you- you could look good and feel good too. Corny but true. Best of luck!!!! Consult a nutritionist about a food plan, or use the MyPyramid plan and meal tracker- you can play around until you develop full days or weeks of meals that incorporate all the food groups while providing the right calorie intake without too much sodium, fats, cholesterol, etc. The meal planner does all the calculations for you. You would be surprised how much food you can eat on an 1800 calorie a day diet!!EDIT: i know it is already a novel, but one last thing: I lost 20 pounds in the last 10 months by dong the things I have recommended, and it feel so great. I promise it is possile, and feels like more of an accomplishment than fad diets ever did for me.

if you eat less than 20 grams of fat a day you should lose weight quickly, also if you skip meals it doesn t help you lose weight because when you don t eat your body stores fat because it doesn t think you ll be fed for a while. you also have to exercise walking is the best you only have to walk 10,000 steps or 30 minutes of walking daily. 70% of weight loss is because of what you eat, 20% is normal exercise and 10% is strenuous exercise. i hope this helps.

Try to follow blood type diet .I tried that and it works! Now my sister in law is trying this diet for about 3 weeks, and she lost 4kg and few inches of her hips, arms and buttock. She is flattered and overjoyed when she can fit into her favourite jeans which was left hang in her closet for 3 years. She eat what she can and avoid food that can cause weight gain.Try that!

nutrisystem.comIt s a no brainer. My mom lost over 50lbs on the system. I have lost almost 30. My co-worker just signed up a few days ago because she saw how well it worked for my mom and I. It s simple, it s healthy, and if you stick to it you will get the results you are looking for. Check out the website and visit the discussion boards where you can find even more info from people who are currently on the program.

Don t only drink protein shakes... excess protein can actually lead to fat gain. Cut your calorie intake by 500. Go on walks, ride a bike, do anything you love that is active. Incorporate weight training into your workout schedule. I d advise Shapefit.com
