the only way to loose weight is to burn more calories than you take in. this means two options: control what you eat, more activityhere s a few things that you can try.Control what you eat:Keep a journal, write down everything that you put in your mouth, food, water, juice, everything. Also (something that helped me) write down how you feel in the following hours after you eat the food, this is how i learned that certain foods that i loved actually gave me headaches, or gassy. This way in about a week you can see EXACTLY what you are eating. Find alternatives. Most people can t quit cold turkey, so find healthier things that you can eat that will satisfy. instead of cold stone, try frozen yogurt.Dont eat dinner infront of the TV. they have found that people that eat dinner infront of the television eat 20% more than those who don t. so sit at the table and eat (if your by yourself turn on the radio, or read a book while you eat). Eat more :) - Usually we tend to go for the sweet stuff because our blood sugar is low... we grab the sugar, our blood sugar spikes, and then crashes lower than where we started. the problem is this is a revolving door. so try to eat smaller portions with more frequency. i.e. every 2-3 hours. MODERATION, it s ok to cheat every once in a while, just dont go overboard, have in your mind a limit before you start. i.e. instead of getting the super large size, get the small size. Dont beat yourself up over it, it s an up hill battle and as long as you are going in the right direction, you ll get where you want to be.More activity:More activity means that you burn more calories.START SLOW.Most people think exercise, think the gym... this isn t the only activity, a simple walk around the block each day can increase activity. Make sure that you do something to move around atleast 30 to an hour everyday. as you start to get used to it and more comforatable increase the activity (if your walking around the block try jogging around the block.)If your going to go to the gym and you dont know what your doing, start out with a personal trainer, this way you have a good starting point. What is an easy workout designed to lose weight and tone muscles? -

I m 16 years old, 5 6 and 145 lbs. I am on my high school varsity soccer and swimming team but am currently off season. I want to lose weight fast. (I have a treadmill and will have access to a pool 3 times a week starting in January)I am so confused about diet and exercise, I don t know what to believe because there are so many myths. If you are a body builder or nutritionist or if you know from experience, please help.

You need to eat 4-5 times per day. Eat high protein / low fat foods example: lowfat yoqurt, grapefruit, baked potatoe with no butter, and baked chicken breasts without skin. I am a CPT, HFI, CRT, RCP. Toning is low weight, high repititon. try push-ups, pull-ups. pilates, and yoga.

hi..im 5 4 and 120 lbs. im 15. i have never excersised in my life. besides pe and playing tag or something. but ive never actually worked out. but im trying to get started. i ve been running 20 minutes a day and doing some strenght training excersise.. since i never really worked out..do you think i would lose weight faster. like because my bodys not used to it or something? do you understand what im saying kind of?

To answer your first question, no. Your body doesn t remember if you ve ever exercised before. But everyone should start off gradually. Walking, swimming, treadmill, stationary bike, or jumping rope are the best. Take a brisk walk either in the morning before it gets hot, or in the evening when the sun goes down. Work gradually up to 30 minutes or more. The more you move the better, whether you need to lose weight or not. You really are at a pefect weight, but you have to listen to your body. If it wants you to lose a little baggage, that s OK. Just don t get nuts and get way too skinny. No one likes that anymore. You should look and feel healthy. :) And be happy!!

Why are you trying to lose weight? You are not overweight so I am not sure why you are trying to lose weight. If you want to tone your body that is fine but you should not be losing weight at your height.

You may lose weight, or you may not. I can t really know because I m not you! Everyone has a different body type, metabolism speed, etc. From what you say, it SOUNDS like you would, but I can t give you any guarantees that you will.Good luck with your working out!

well from experience, i can say running at first is prolly not all that good of an idea considering you never really did any real hard exercise . start walkin a mile everyday, each day time yourself and try and beat your previous days time, and changing the way you eat could help too. but if you loose weight FAST, thats not good or safe either. just take it slow. i started off at one mile a day now im walkin 3 miles in jus under 40 minutes ONLY WALKING!!

oh and people are only supposed to lose a pound a week with normal, healthy exercise.
