Is it easier for me to lose weight or gain muscle? -

im 14 years old i weigh 226 pounds and i wanna know would is it easier for me to gain muscle or lose weight and i don t want to lift really heavy weights i heard it stuns your growth so i was wondering what to do and if you guys chose on or the other can u give me tips to do good workout or tip to lose weight fast

If you gain muscle, you will burn fat. Just having muscle makes your body burn more calories in a day. You need to combine a workout of strength training and cardio to lose weight. You should walk/run 3 times a week and strength train 3 times a week, and rest 1 day. Do it something like this this:Sunday: restMonday: runTuesday: strengthWednesday: runThursday: strengthFriday: runSaturday: strengthYou should alternate days like that, and you need a day of rest or your body will get too tired and you could hurt yourself or just not get a good work out. You don t have to lift heavy weights to strength train, just do push ups or lift weights that are heavy enough to challenge you. For me, 3lb weights work best. I m a girl. Since you re a guy, I d lift 5-10lb weights or just do pushups. And when you walk/run, you need to do it at least 1 hour a day. Also remember that if you re gaining muscle, you re going to put on muscle weight but lose fat weight, so try to focus more on how your body looks than what your physical weight is.

I m not sure I understand why you are contempt choosing one or the other so how about you aim to lose weight whilst building muscle? If that was the case a good quality HIIT (High Intensity, Interval Training) workout might be beneficial, HIIT is proven to burn high amounts of fat with short workouts 15-35min is enough, (an example would be sprinting, then resting...repeat) this will also improve your cardio, mix this with up some light to medium weight training and there s no reason you can t do both.If your asking what s easier, burning fat or building muscle well that s difficult to answer because it depends on factors such as your metabolism, diet, current fitness level, what type of workout or weight training your willing to do etc.Google HIIT workouts to find out more if your interested. All the best.

Building muscle is much easier than losing weight. With losing weight you have do Cardiovascular activities which will tire you out and you also have to watch your diet.Building muscle requires protein and constant weight lifting, though tiring would be less physically exhausting.Running/Swimming/Walking/Biking/Joggin are all good ways to lose weight and build up your leg muscles.Building up the leg muscles help strengthen other muscles as they are the largest. (Quadraceps)

The general rule for losing weight is to: Eat Less, Do MoreSo, take in less calories and become more active with exercise. From what I understand, to gain muscle you need to eat more protein rich foods and concentrate on exercises that work certain muscle groups. So you see....both involve a change in diet and lifestyle - so I d say neither one was easier than the other.I think the best idea if you re serious is to consult a medical professional or arrange a membership with a gym where a qualified trainer will work out a programme to help you to achieve the results you want. They are really very good at this - they have different exercises and programmes for you to, Lose Weight, Tone Up, Build Muscle etc and will create one based on your statistics and what you want to achive.Good Luck :)

what everyone says is to get skinny first, then gain muscle, but thats counterinuitive and is not a good idea. thts what i did, and its just extra hard work for no reason. whan you re bigger, you re body will build muscle easily because it has so much extra energy to do it with. when you rer skinny, its hard to gain muscle because you re body doesnt have enough energy to build new mass. when you gain muscle first, it will then be easier to lose the fat when you decide to because the muscle you have gained will increase your metabolism and the fat will fall off a lot faster. just start eating smarter, not less, just smarter, and work out everyday. and lifting heavy weights does not stunt your growth

it would be easier to gain muscle but it would also be stupid. yes it heavy lifting does stunt your growth. but converting fat directly to muscle will only stay muscle as long as you work out. two weeks of not working out and all of it will convert right back to fat. you have to lose weight first and then start building muscle, if you even want to that is. there is no fast way to lose weight. the only way to do it is the old fashioned way. eat less exercise more. something that really helps on speeding up the process is not eating after 6pm. and power walking for 45 minutes everyday.

its always harder to gain muscle than it is to lose weight but from some people it cam be the opposite. You can do both by following a high protein diet and regular exercise.

Before listening to morons stating that weight lifting stuns your growth - do your own research. For example the first five or six articles from google pin this down as a myth.

you do both simultaneously its going to be really hard work but if i were you i would go the cardio rout all the muscle you want will prolly come with it

it s easy to lose wieght n gain muscle by eat right n pick up weights every n run

first get skinny then get muscles

Lose weight fast/toning? -

I m almost 14 years old, 5 foot 6 or 5 foot 7, pretty athletic. I wanna lose about 3 pounds in a week. No i will not give up food. Would running each night help? tips pleaseno rude answers

Actually better than running is walking. Running works your cardiovascular system and gives you more stamina, but for pure weight loss, nothing beats walking. It raises your heart rate but not to the cardiovascular point so you burt fat better.Start with a very brisk 30 minute walk (about 2 mi) and work your way up to 45 minutes in a week or so,. When you get comfortable with it, try doing it 2 times a day on every other day. You ll notice your legs will get firm and tight quickly.

pilates and yoga

If you drink soda...give it up (if your problem is around your stomach). You ll be surprise how much weight you look like you loss when your stomach becomes flat. You can eat whatever you want as long as you watch your proportion and running helps too. Good luck.

1-2 is more idealistic. 3 pounds is unhealthy. And yes, running is a good way to lose weight. Also switch it up though, as the body gets used to doing the same thing. You could play a sport like basketball, swim, ride a bike, walk or jog UPHILL, or take an aerobics or dance class. Good luck!

i m 15 and 5 6, i run about 25 miles a week 3-4 a day) and it works miracles. when its too hot to run outside i go to the gym, and then i can do other stuff like elipticals and stationary bikes to work other muscles.

I think the most a person can lose (in a healthy manner) is 1 pound a week.Running is a good way to lose weight. Also, you don t have to give up food, but eat more sensibly and healthier. Drink a lot of water to help curb your appetite.

yes it will definately help! i ve been on a diet for quiet some time, but the first week i was on it, i lost 5 pounds in one week! In the mornings, i eat two peices of dry toast each morning with a glass of milk, i dont have lunch, however if you want lunch, eat some fruit, and for dinner, i have ramon noodles with tea...i dont drink sodas and i dont eat sweets nor do i eat meat...hope this helps

You need to cut out 10,500 calories (3,500 calories in a pound). So, remove those calories from your diet, or maybe work out like crazy. You may actually gain weight from working out really hard, because you ll put on muscle. You ll be smaller though, since muscle is denser than fat.

Whats the best way of losing weight fast in 2 months need to lose 4 stones? -

There is only one way of losing weight that works- A healthy diet of 1200-2000 calories depending on how much you weigh, and an active lifestyle including plenty of aerobic exercise 3-5 times a week. You cannot lose 4 stones in 2 months without ending up in the hospital, and regardless, you ll gain it all back in a week. Take your weight and add a 0 at the end and that s how many calories you should shoot for in a day. Do something like jogging or tae-bo or a stairmaster for 30-45 minutes a day 5 times a week. Drink plenty of water, stay active to help your metabolism, and don t waste your calories on candy bars and junk food- eat fruits and vegetables and whole grains and lean meat. You will lose FAT that way, not just water weight or worse your own muscle, and it will stay off if you keep it up.

Will drinking alot of water and eating little calories help you lose weight fast? -

No, but more water will make you healthier in general, which COULD concievably make exercize more efficient.

yes because drinking a lot of water helps control your hunger but you still have to excersise

Drinking water does help you loose weight. Your body needs the water to work properly, and it actually helps your metabolism work better... then you loose the weight. But, eating little calories does the opposite effect. If you don t eat enough calories, you will really mess up your metabolism (something that you need to loose weight and do it the quickest way possible). Working out, eating right (meaning eating enough to allow your body to function properly), drinking enough water (not over drinking though since that will cause you to bloat), will get you there quicker than you can imagine. Doing it right will not only make you look and feel good, but it will last!

Initially it will cause you to lose weight, however, in the end it will slow your metabolism down and cause you to put all the weight back on and then some. Exercise is the best way to lose weight. Its safer and much healthier! Be blessed!

Exercise will help you loose weight fast.

what makes it go fast is exercise along with it. the deit thing only helps and if only done by itself makes it go slow.

Water makes it easier because it fills you up and helps with flushing out toxins in your body.

That is a good way to start, however, drinking alot of water and eating little calories, alone, will not suffice for loosing weight quickly. Loosing weight is a matter of expending more calories, through exercise and daily activities, than you take in. Exercises alone won t help you loose weight if you re still taking in more calories than you burn. A healthy diet is important for overall health. There are several things you could do as well. Replacing side dishes like mashed potatoes, french fries, and macaroni and cheese with vegetables and salads. Choose lean meats like fish and chicken rather than red meat. It is higher in protein and lower in fat. Tuna and salmon are excellent sources of antioxidants. If you re looking to loose weight quickly; cutting out all carbs, drinking plenty of water, and watching your calorie intake...while staying active, should definitely do the trick!

Yes, absolutely. The key is lower calories.

yeah, but not that much fast, but you can lose ur weight gradually by doing this.

it could but very slowly...you need cardio exercises

No, but it ll probably make you piss a lot and having extremely low energy.

Yes, it might help the process. But you have to have a regular workout regimen too. Btw, what really helps is drinking Hot/Warm water after every meal and during the day as much as you can. It helps digest and process the food.

By drinking 4-8oz glasses of water within 30 minutes in the morning, 4-8oz glasses of water within 30 minutes in the afternoon and the same amount between 5 and 6 in the evening leads to a flushed system and rapid weight loss. Of course followed by a health diet and exercise....its important to exercise to lose weight but not 2 much exercise.........You would just be losing water weight...that is all. HOWEVER, drinking lots of water throughout the whole day will keep you from mistaking thirst for hunger. Many people eat becuase they think they are hungry, but they are just thirsty......If you drink ice water(with a temp of 0 degrees C) you will burn calories as you bring the water s temp up to your body s temp. So make sure it s cold water that you drink!!!!!!!!!!!

You could try exercising or doing 1 hour of physical activities each day whether it being dancing, swimming, running, walking even playing with your friends or little brother counts as long as you get to move your body for that hour. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!

Try exerciseing about 20 minutes and try counting calories maybe 1400 Hundred a day Just do not go bellow 1200 because you wont lose

Very important to stay away from junk food, pop and fast foods. Even if you decide to drink diet colas it s not a good idea as diet soda has twice the amount of sodium than regular sodas so you can t win as sodium retains water. You got to move with some cardio type of exercise. Eat a properly balanced diet. Don t eat anything with white flour in it. And thinking about losing 20 pounds is crazy if you are talking about doing it in one month time! That is not safe and whatever you lose will come back and perhaps 10 or more pounds more! This is not a quick fix, you have to loose it slowly. Sorry to say!

Fast weight loss is not safe weight loss. Chances are it will not be permanent weight loss either. Safe weight loss is considered losing no more than 1to 2 pounds a week. Everyone wants a quick easy way to lose weight, the bottom line is that there is none. Weight lpss requires exercise, diet and lots of discipline. Good Luck

Atkins

Look, the only way you are going to lose ANY weight is to just restrict your portions and exercise at least 30 min a day, 5 days a week. It can be slight jogging (if you don t like heavy jogging) you could walk for 45 min, you could just jump rope for 30 minutes, I don t care how you do it...BUT, the only way to safely and effectively lose REAL fat weight is to cut back your portion sizes, forget about sweets and exercise. You don t have to starve yourself, but make sure you aren t eating as much as you are now.
