In order to lose wieght, you need to consume less calories than you burn in a day. First you will want to figure out how many calories your body burns in a day. There are several calculators available online. You will then need to track how many calories you burn through exercising. If you want to maintain your weight, you need to eat at least that many calories each day. If you want to lose weight, you will want to eat less than the amount you burn. If you want to gain weight, eat more than you burn. Each pound is approximately 3500 calories. To lose one pound a week, you need to cut 500 calories from your meals or burn at least 500 calories each day. If you are able to cut 500 calories through either diet or exercise you should lose 1 pound a week. An example:My body burns approx. 1500 calories a dayI exercise ? to 3 hours a day, 6 days a week. The amount of calories I burn varies between 300 C 1500. I mainly do cardio (swim, bike, run).My daily calorie(energy) output is between 1800 and 3000. I maintain a diet of approx. 1400 calories, more on days where I will be doing heavy workouts. It is important to balance your calorie input and output. If you do not take in enough calories, you will actually be starving yourself. Your body will hold onto the excess weight rather than letting it go. Losing 1-2 pounds a week is healthy and it will stay off. Stay away from fattening foods, things with high sugar content such as fruit juice and soda, and eat plenty of fruits, vegatables and lean meats.I do not recommend using diet pills as they can mess with your metabolism. You will see weight loss, but it will mostly be water weight and will be regained once you stop taking the pills. You will lose wieght faster by doing at least 30 minutes of cardio a day. This can be running, cycling, aerobics, swimming, rollerskating, etc. The sky is the limit. By incorporating weight training, the muscle that you gain will help as well as the more muscle you have, the more calories your body burns. For the best results you should see a professional to help you draw out a plan.

i advise you to drink green tea 1-3 glasses per day green tea speeds up your metabolismdrink lots and lots of water 8 glasses each day.do not snackdo not eat 6 meals a day, try to only eat 3if you are really hungry and you ve had all your daily meals snack on fruits ( oranges, apples, bananas )exercise more try and run for at least 30 minutes a dayget more active get more sleep it prepares your bodystretch, yes it works and it doesn t just help you lose weight it helps with you re growing to make you a little tallercount your calories try to stay under the amount of 1300 calories per daychange you re lifestyle it makes a differencedo not eat candy or chips eat more greens or protein barsavoid fast food and cut out fried food when you cook your meal oven cook your food do not fry itchew gum because when you chew gum you do not pick at food for example if theres some chips in you re cupboard you go to them a think good damn they look good then you would say no i cant pick at them because i dont wanna throw my gum awaydo not eat after 6pm because before 6pm you can burn all you re food off and if you eat after six it will lay on you re stomach as you eat.do not eat before you go to sleepdrink a glass of water before you go to sleepdrink plain hot kettle water because it speeds up you re metabolismdo not weigh you re self everyday because it torments you, weight you re self once a week ( every Monday )good luck!you can safley lose 2 to 3 lbs. a week

Smaller meals, healthy snacks, a wide variety of healthy foods so you don t get bored. While bread and pasta are not the devil (your body needs them), your diet should be more on the side of fiber and protein. And as Sarah said, burn more calories than you consume in a day. It s ultimately as simple as that.

Help, I want to lose weight..? -

I want to lose approx. 30-40 lbs... ive tried alot of weight loss pills in the past couple of years, tried working out, tried alot of different things, and i still didn t see the results that i thought id see..... i am kind of impatient so should i try all these things again or does anyone have any idea about a weight loss program to where you can lose weight quicker and safer?

You will lose more body fat eating protein and fat (don t eat protein alone) than not eating AT ALL. To lose weight fast eat all you want but nothing but meat, eggs, healthy oils, mayo, butter and half an avocado a day (you ll need added potassium). Keep the calories high and the fat percentage high, at least 65% of calories. Adding in green vegetables some cheese will continue weight loss but at a slower pace.Your body won t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow your metabolism to compensate and store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering your calories, it will continue lowering that set point, til you can survive off nothing and store fat on anything. The body will only release it s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of food.Eating carbs while trying to lose body fat is terribly inefficient. When in glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) you have to lower your calories (which slows your metabolism) and exercise heavily to deplete your glycogen stores before burning body fat.The core of the Atkins program is converting your body from glycolysis (burning glucose as fuel) to ketosis (burning fat as fuel). You need to keep your fat levels at 65% of your calories, if you don t your body will still remain in glycolysis by converting 58% of excess protein into glucose (via gluconeogenesis). It takes minimum of 3 days to convert your body to ketosis, (but only one bite to convert back to glycosis) you will probably feel sluggish the first week but most people feel better than ever thereafter.Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.Simple carbs are addictive and can be disastrous to our health. The best way to break the addiction is NO carbs for 3 days. Make a huge batch of deviled eggs and eat one every time you want something have huge omelets for breakfast, with bacon, a lil onion, peppers, mushrooms cheese. Pork chops for lunch. Get pork rinds and eat them with tuna salad. Steak for dinner. Make a huge sugar free cheese cake for dessert. Eat so much you won t feel deprived of anything. By the fourth day, your addiction will be gone and you can start making healthy choices.High insulin levels promote inflammation, weight gain, hunger and unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.Ground flax seed (2 Tbsp) 1/4 cup of water, cinnamon, artificial sweetener, mix in a raw egg - let sit 10 min to absorb liquid, put some cream cheese in the middle and nuke for 1.5 min. for hot cereal or 2 min. for more of a muffin type thing. Great low carb, high fiber treat. Suggested for daily fiber needs. The first 2 weeks you can have several cups a day of (mostly) lettuce and celery, cucumbers, radishes, mushrooms, peppers and more variety of vegetables thereafter add 5 grams per day additional (20 grams day first 2 weeks, 25grams 3rd week, 30grams 4th week etc) every week til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.) As long as you remain 9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn t gain weight. Many people gain weight on high carb, then switch to low carb to lose weight then are shocked when they return to high carb that they gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar and maintain weight or health.Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a diet Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz Life without Bread Taubes Good calories, Bad calories are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.Reducing body fat and increasing muscle mass will have you in awesome shape in no time. Good luck!

Diet pills don t work. It s the nutrition and fitness plans that come with them that work. All you can do is keep track of your calories, make sure you get them from HEALTHY foods (fruits, vegetables, whole grains, NO REFINED CARBS LIKE WHITE BREAD OR PASTA, lean proteins like chicken and fish, nuts), and exercise. 45 minutes a day, 5-6 times a week of cardio, plus strength training 2-3 times a week, combined with a healthy diet, will help you shed that weight. You re going to have to be patient, though. Distract yourself from the slow progress by tracking measurements, taking before/after pictures of yourself each week, journaling how you feel each day or every few days, and allowing yourself little rewards every time you lose, say, 5 pounds. A new book, a new top, new shoes, a day all to yourself, a spa day at home with a bath and some candles, mani/pedi, etc.

Record down what you usually eat. Try to make sacrifices, like skip the Fast food breakfasts. and dont go near sugary sweets. Drink plenty of water. Avoid the sodium, and dont sit down right after yu eat. Walk around the place, or stand and do house work. Everyday get in at least 10-15 mins of excercise, Make up your own moves, whatever yu feel like doing. Eat alot of fruits and vegetables, and remember to drink plenty of water. pills are dangerous..

You don t need a diet. You need a lifestyle change. Eat less, move more. Eat four to six small meals a day with breakfast being the largest and dinner being the smallest. Eat the majority of your calories early in the day. Avoid sodas and junk foods.

Drop those 23 Eggs you eat and you should be fine...

Healthier Diet, Replacing White Rice with....? -

Would be replacing WHITE rice with BROWN rice help with a healthy weight loss diet? I eat alot of white rice, maybe 2-3 bowls a day.. For only one week last week i only ate mostly chicken breast and vegetables.. but i couldnt take it anymore, and ate some white rice...Im already doing 60minutes of cardio a day with weight training, so now all i need is a good diet..my mom cooks most of the time, so i plan to eat her cooking (vietnamese food) but with brown rice..How much healthier is brown rice, and how many bowls can i eat a day? im thinking at most is 2 bowls, lunch and dinner..i usually try to eat 5-6 small meals a day..1-breakfast- Cereal with fat free milk.2-some fruits, with a cup of green tea3-Lunch- Most likely whatever my mom cooked, with some brown rice (going to buy brown rice soon)4-(After Weight Lifting) Whey protein shake with 1 cup of fat free milk, and sometimes a bananna to keep me full5-Dinner- Whatever my mom cooks with some brown rice.6- Some fruit

Yes, because with brown rice you are getting whole grains. White rice is quite processed and like white flour, turns to sugar in your body.Always substitute whole grains for not whole grains.

I am a mother of three and my last pregnancy was twins and gained 75lbs, I lost 30 at birth but could not get the rest off. I needed to lose another 60 just to be in healthy range. I have now lost forty in about 6 months time and I have been using a supplement called Orovo. I did some research and it also helps with acne and wrinkles, I have adult acne but wrinkles are not yet an issue. I have a myspace site of my family if you would like to email me privately and see the before and after pictures. It is not a bad price and I can keep up with the twins! It does not give you that jittery feeling most diet supplements do and since my husband is currently stationed out of the country I need all the extra energy I can get. Do some research you will see, it is an amazing product, all of my friends are using it, and seeing great results. Good luck and email me for any other information.

Sparkpeople.com? -

Has anyone had any success with sparkpeople as a weight loss program? I m in serious need of losing quite a bit of weight and the website looks pretty good. Just wanted to get others opinions. Thanks!

I just joined up on this site. I don t think its the site itself that makes you successful or not. You have to be motivated on your own and make good choices on your own. However, sparkpeople has many great tools for losing weight. They have some really wonderful recipes as well as a calorie counter, meal planner, exercise suggestions, the list could go on for awhile. One thing that has really helped me so far is meeting the little goals. I also like the membership card they email you. I put it in my wallet so that everytime I pull out money to buy any junk food I see it and change me mind. Its a great little reminder that I can do this! Hope this helps!

sparkpeople is good. the only thing is, it gets boring after a while and then you eventually just stop going there. but, if you stick to sparkpeople and do everything they tell you to do, you will lose weight.
