LAXATIVES AND PERIOD .? -

QUESTION, KINDA GROSS. BUT HEY, LIFE. i was on my period. about the 4th day and i drank a laxative. 2 help start my beginnin of the weight loss program im doin. anyways since i drank the laxative. I havent done a bowel movement the way ur supposed to. (the whole day). and now my period is still here, its like going on 12 days now and i usually get it for 7 days. ANYWAYS. DOES TAKING THE LAXATIVE WHILE ON UR PERIOD, INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DAYS U BLEED.

No, taking a laxative doesn t control how many days you bleed. Be careful when using laxatives because they can really mess you up and make you dependent on them. Only use them when you need them and not for weight loss. Also, stay hydrated because being dehydrated will make you constipated.Idk about your period, that s just odd but I m sure it happens to everybody once in a while.

Running, losing weight, HELP!!!!!? -

Ok I started this weight loss program, In the passed year I gained almost 35 pounds, (WOW!! I know!!) so im trying to lose it by dieting and running, (Also lifting weights) well anyways, I warm up by walking fast then jogging and I get out of breath quickly and i get really really tired in like the first 2 minutes. Can anyone give me any advice so I wont feel so winted and tired?!!!

What I did to lose weight and get more energey is a full body nutritional cleanse. I lost 29 lbs in 30 days and have tons of energy. Check it out at www.loseweightfeelgreat.isagenix.comcontact me if you have any questions. wwdb74@yahoo.com

I was in the same boat and I have lost 30 pounds with diet, jogging and weights so far. I was so out of shape when I started I think it took me 30 minutes to just WALK a mile! Eventually I was jogging and could do about 2 miles in 30 minutes without taking a break(and that is good for me because I do not really enjoy it) :) I found that you just have to work your way up to it, maybe all you can do right now is just walk briskly but it s a start. Try to do a little more each time you go out, I think your body needs to adjust. Good luck!

Hi Juan, You r exercising too hard. Ease Up, slow down so U can keep moving during workout. Make the time periods shorter U won t b as tired.

lol, I would try losing weight first so the extra weight doesn t put extra load on the heart. also I would not like the jiggling sensation of flabby thighs, arms and stomachs. . :)

mabye if you eat a few hours before you excersize rather than after. also, stay hydrated.

HEALTHY weight loss; any good ideas? -

i currently weigh a bit above the average weight for my age, and i want to know some HEALTHY ways to lose a few pounds. i know that exercise is a good way, but i want to know some activities that i could do indoors that would be good.also, specific foods that i should stay away from?any thoughts?(:

I would suggest calculating your BMR )the calories burned just by living( here: http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calcul and eating 250 calories below that and exercising to burn another 250 calories. (preferably cardio) That way, you should lose one pound a week. 3500 calories consumes below/above your BMR=one pound lost/gained. There are so many factors, so don t rely just on the math. Also, please don t try low carb diets, just stick to a high protein, complex carb (WHOLE grains, potatos, etc.), and low fat diet. Lean meats, veggies, whole grains, and fruits are good! Try to limit your added sugar intake too. If you want any more info, just e-mail me. 3

Try weight watchers. It is a very balanced program. I ve been on it for over 15 months and lost 123 pds.www. weightwatchers.comIndoor exercise is doable. Can you rent a buy a yoga or pilates DVD and do that? You can also get some hand weights and ankle weights and do light weight lifting.Exercise bands are real big right now and there are several sties online that show you different exercises to do.Stay away from fried foods, fatty meats, and simple carbs.Focus on the basics, fruit, veggies, whole grains, and lean meats. Get your calcium with skim milk and yogurt.Good luck

These foods almost always contain fiber. The fiber is what is mostly responsible for slowing the absorption of the sugars. These foods can provide long-lasting energy. Most vegetables (especially dark green), most fruits, whole-grains and nuts are high-fiber, low-glycemic. For optimal health, get your grains intact from foods such as whole wheat (whole-grain) bread, brown rice, whole-grain pasta, and other possibly unfamiliar grains like quinoa, whole oats, and bulgur.Eat More Protein:Your body requires more energy (calories) to process protein than it does carbohydrates. Eating more protein can increase your metabolism, thereby increasing your bodys ability to burn fat. Protein is necessary for your body to build muscle, and building more muscle increases your ability to burn fat. Good options include eggs, low-fat or no-fat dairy products, lean meat, poultry, seafood and whey protein supplements. Nuts and legumes are also excellent sources of protein; plus you get the added benefit of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Legumes include black beans, red beans, pinto beans, navy beans, garbanzos, and other beans that are usually sold dried. Eat Frequent Small Meals Throughout The Day:Eat 6 smaller meals per day, rather than 2-3 larger meals. This will ensure that you will supply your body with the necessary nutrients to build muscle and burn fat while increasing your metabolic rate. It will also supply a constant stream of energy to prevent fatiguing early and prevents the body from kicking into starvation mode. If this happens, your body will burn muscle for energy increasing your body fat stores as well as slowing down your metabolism. Eat Balanced Meals:I eat lots of chicken and fish plus an occasional serving of lean red meat. I love my salads and veggies. Beans, brown rice and whole-wheat pasta are my side dishes. I snack on fruits and nuts and even use them to top whole-grain cereals and yogurt. I drink fat free milk everyday which I use also in smoothies. My meals are simple and nutritious. I balance my meals by making sure Im eating plenty of protein and fiber in each meal. NEVER SKIP BREAKFAST:This is the one meal you cannot afford to miss! Jump start your day with a high-fiber, high protein meal containing complex carbohydrates, avoiding simple (sugary) carbohydrates which trigger hunger and sleepiness a few hours later. Choose whole-grain cereals that are loaded with fiber and protein instead of sugar (i.e. Kashi Go Lean .. or Oatmeal). Top with fat-free milk or soy milk and sliced almonds. Sweeten with blueberries or strawberries for a boost in disease fighting antioxidants. Smoothies are great for breakfast too!I hope this will helpGood day

Stay away from deep fried, salty, sugary. Oven bake your chips instead of deep frying or if you must dont use animal fat. Avoid soda s sweetened juices grill your meats. Good diet halps you loose more weight than excercise could. Personaly I like to do sit ups, pushups, squats, lunges to tone workout, in front of the tv, no fuss, no cost.

What do i do about my fiance and my eating disorder? -

i have an eating disorder and no, i do not want to go into inpatient care so that is out of the question. i am 77 lbs and my goal is 70 by new years. that is a healthy weight loss rate because its only like 1 lb a week. i told my fiance this and he said whatever, i ve given up on trying to help you- you are literally addicted to losing weight. i dont know if he is saying this just cause my **** shrinked, or what idk. :( it makes me really sad and idk what to do. i feel worse that he is given up than i did when he used to tell me i dont need to lose weight. its sucky. and its not like i wanted my chest to shrink i jsut want thinner thighs. i cant help suffering from an eating disorder, its a disease and idk what to do it literally has consumed me. all i can ever think about is food. i havent had a meal in several months. a meal, for me, is a bowl of cereal or a couple vegetarian sausages with mustard. i definately do not want to go into an inpatient or clinic program but im scared my fiance will give up on me all together and leave me what do i do? :(

im so sorry, im super skinny as it is (fast metabolism)try drinking protein shakesyou cant really get help unless its professionalbut if your fiancee cared about you he would let you go get helpim sorryxox lots of love

I know how you feel about losing weight, i too used to be obsessed and would be disappointed when i didn t lose a pound a day. You should ask yourself; what s more important, losing weight or being with the person you love. You can always go back to losing weight but if you lose your love chances are you won t get him back.

Get help. The person who loves you the most is telling you that you have a problem.Listen to him.

you may not want to go but you need to or you are going to end up dead.

wow that is crazy

thats tought

Ask yourself this how can I love my fiance when I don t even love myself?

you could get a shrink. It s not inpatient care, and the psycologist could help you through you re disorder. You re fiance doesn t say anything anymore because he basically has given up. You need to take matters into you re own hands to change your problem. If you want to be healthy and happy you ll find a way to do it. Don t let a mental block get in the way of you re happiness. But whatever you decide to do, I hope it turns out well :)

learn to love yourself as you are.why do you want thinner thighs? from what you say your fiancee is not giving you a lot of help, but don t judge him by that he probably doesn t know what to say, that doesn t mean he doesn t care.you need help with your eating disorder talk to professional people who know what you re going through.your fiancee is not going to like you getting thinner, how did you look when you started your relationship? he likes you that way try to aim for that look.thighs are not supposed to be thin they re supposed to have some meat on them, both muscle and fat.1 pound a week may be healthy but is your target weight healthy?

The choices that you are making has repercussions that are seriously harming you physically and emotionally. It s starting to effect the relationship you have with your fiance... and if you continue this it will destroy it.If you persist moving in this downward spiral, you are also are jeopardizing the overall health of any future children you may have.Visit some websites to get an idea of how to overcome this (i.e. http://www.healingpathfoundation.org/ano but more importantly seek professional help. You are avoiding professional help because you are stuck in an addictive cycle - just take the step and do it. FIRST, start by getting rid of that silly goal. As long as you are focused on that... you ll make no progress.Because of who I am, I can t help but suggest you seek God s help. Take my advice or not... at least ponder and take these words to heart -You are God s own child. He is your Father. He loves you unconditionally. You have infinite worth. You have infinite potential. You are NOT to be compared to anyone else.Good luck and God bless.

If you have an eating disorder you need to seek help and if you choose not to than that is your fault. You may not want help but fact of the matter is that you need it. 70lbs is not a healthy weight for someone old enough to get married, unless you re like 4ft something. Eating disorders are hard to deal with. When I was institutionalized (for depression) my roommate was an anorexic and they had to force feed her. But she was so committed to her illness that she found ways around it (which I won t share in case you do decide to seek help). If you let this illness consume you like it is then you are going to lose more than your fiance. However, if he really loved you he also wouldn t give up on you. He would do everything he could to help you, even if that meant an intervention with your friends and family. Your choices are to seek help and get better or slowly whittle away until you die. I can only hope that someone cares enough about you to stop you.

First off, you should realize that you re not alone. Almost fifty percent of girls ages 11-17 are concerned with how they look. It s okay to not know what to do, or where to turn, or who to ask. However, understanding why you have the disorder is the first thing you need to conquer. You say you want thinner thighs... its more than that... and thats something you can t do alone. Either find someone you can trust and wholeheartedly commit to trying to find a solution... and I mean... wholeheartedly commit, like your life depends on it... because it does. And if you don t have someone you can trust a better route is to call one of these numbers and get help. Believe it or not, a lot of the people who help have been through eating disabilities too... you can talk to people who are going through the same things you are going through right now... just give em a call..Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD)1-847-831-3438Referrals for treatment and informationHope Line Network1-800-273-TALK; 1-800-273-8255National Call Center for At-Risk Youth1-800-USA-KIDS; 1-800-872-5437

Im like, really fat but im not good at dieting/exercising? -

well, im not THAT fat but well.... i still am and i have like, no will power and when it comes to exercise, i just dont have time. i dont want to like, buy pills or anything. i want it to be a healthy weight loss. any tips? ideas?

Make time... you have time. If you don t have time to improve your health you have time for nothing else, so don t say you do not have time. You do.And learn to exorcise. Make it a routine you do 3-4 times a week for 40 minutes or so. After awhile it will become much much easier to maintain that habit. Consistency is way more important than pushing it hard for general fitness purposes.Quit eating fast food and anything containing modified food starches and high fructose corn syrup.

You have time. You don t have willpower and make excuses. Don t give that BS. I m a full time college student, and work full time, and I still have time to work out an hour a day, 6 days a week. If I can, anyone has the time to. Unless you are like, a single mom. In which case, you can still get a treadmill or something and use that for 30 mins a day in the home.If you don t have the willpower to cut out food, you won t lose weight. there are no other ways to lose weight beyond diet and exercise.

Just eat healthier. I d say go vegetarian, cause it helps, but you can still lose weight other ways. I lost weight after I went vegetarian, then more when I started ea thing only healthy foods, and more again when I went vegan. Just try to eat healthy: cut down fast food, eat lots of what you re supposed to, cut down on junk food. That s the best advice I can give, cause it worked for me. :]

I suggest getting some books on food. I m reading one now on food addictions. You could be triggering cravings for sweets just by eating them.Don t eat anything with sugar in it. Try to fast and drink lots of water. You need to get away from overeating for awhile, and let your body get off the carbs, because believe it or not they are addicting, and the more you eat the more your body craves them. You should definitely read some books on healthy eating habits.

The tip is use your brain, your health is important. You have to make time for your body. You make time to eat make time to cut back on the fatty foods. Good luck

Make exercise fun like swimming, water aerobics or try the Wii fit. Stick at it and it will get easier and happier to do.

Can someone accurately weigh them-self with two scales? -

I am starting a weight loss program and since I weigh over 400 pounds it was suggested to me that I buy two identical scales and stand on both scales to get my weight. I bought two digital scales and tried it but they both showed ERR (error) as if the weight was over their capacity. I may be answering my own question, but does anyone have any suggestions?

It probably wont work. You cant avoid shifting weight. Dont worry about the scale. Do what you know you need to do and gueage your results by the mirror until you can make one scale work.

What s the maximum weight that the scale can weigh? If you weigh more than the scale can handle then it will show you an error. The most accurate way to weigh yourself is with a scale that is calibrated using known weights on a monthly basis. Even if you weigh yourself using two scales but neither one is accurate, then it defeats the purpose.

I suppose it could work, as long as you have equal weight on both scales.Dont put more pressure on one side than the other.
