Has anyone taken phentermine? -

my doctor prescribed phentermine to me. im in a weight loss program and taking a b12 shot and vitamins. my first day will be tomorrow and i just wanted people s reviews who HAVE taken it or are taking it now. i eat 1200 cal a day and exercise everyday rotating between weight lifting and walking. im 5 7 and 208 at the moment im wishing to be 150 by december..

My Dh and I started it 2 weeks ago. He has had amazing results and has lost 16 pounds.I lost 9 lbs. the first week and now, NOTHING. I m exercising 45-60 minutes per day (cardio) 5 days per week and logging every piece of food that goes into my mouth (to the tune of no more than 1100 calories a day) and not drinking caffeine or soda of any kind...and the scale still will not budge anymore.I need to lose about 40 lbs. I dropped 46 lbs. all on my own after the birth of my daughter, but this last 40 is killing me. We go in Monday for our 2 week checkup. I m really disappointed.

I have to agree with Kimmer. I have been on it about 2 months and the first couple weeks I lost about 10 pounds, and now it seems like my body has become immune to it.It does get frustrating. I heard though, it you stop taking it for a month or so, and then restart, it will work again.Dont know. I tried Meridia before this and it worked for about 2 months, then stopped. Where s that miracle cure!? If you find it along the way, pleeeease let me know : )

I have taken it before. It works but it ll keep you awake for days. I had the worst dry mouth you can imagine. It wasn t worth it.

Ive lost 4 pound in a week, but...? -

am i doing too much? as they say 2 pound a week is a healthy weight loss each week and anything more is unhealthy... i ve been eating a good diet, just cutting out carbs and fat, and have started to go to the gym 6 times a week doing 5k each time on the treadmill and also weights. im trying to lose 2 stone in 4 months, im currently 5 5 female, weighing 10 stone 10, 150 pounds... do i need to slow down a bit? or is this ok? just worrying that my weight loss will come to a hult. and how much is a realistic weight loss in a 4 months? thanks in advance x

this is no set of correct answers when it comes to weight loss. the bottom line is simply that it depends on too many factors, what your calorie intake is, what the intensity of your cardio training is, what your metabolic rate is, what % of your calories are fat calories vs. complex carbs and proteins and FIBER....there is nothing wrong with losing 4lbs in a week, there is nothing wrong with losing more, or less than that. what does matter is that you are eating enough calories to match the intensity of your workouts and that you are drinking enough water....i have struggled with my weight since elementary school- a solid 15 years now...i look back at my height to weight ratio and how physically strong i was and i want to beat the stupid misconceptions out of the me from back then. i was perfectly healthy, i am 5 11 and i should have never felt bad about weighing more than the 5 3 girls in my classes. but that s a sidebar....the point is when i was doing the intense cardio conditioning workouts at the start of track and field season, we would work 5 days a week, 2 hours a day HARD and i would drop 15-20 pounds in a matter of two weeks. and i didn tt change my diet to go anorexic orbulimia was simply a REALLY tough workout. and it was healthily lost weight. bear in mind as you work out that everyone works at a different pace and as long as you are not in pain during your workouts or find yourself eating less than 1200-1500 calories per day (unless your doctor says so) you should be just fine.

When I did a similar regime I lost a lot i the first week too. then it levelled off to a pound or two a week. I lost quite a bit.But be very careful, as soon as I started eating normally again, the weight just piled back on.And now I weigh about a stone more than when I began to diet and exercise. Unless you are prepared to live like this for the rest of your life, be careful because the weight comes back and then some as soon as you stop.

is it your first week of dieting? im presuming it is - then the 4lbs will be mostly water weight. You will even off and will lose between 1-2.5lbs from now on. If you do hit a plateau dont give up. Increase exercise and cut down a little on cals until you see it shifting again - good luck

Weight loss was a nightmare for me until I tried out acai berry. I understand they say that pills don t work, nevertheless they sure worked for me, and they have been showcased on the Rachael Ray Show too. There is a free trial on at the moment at http://gichind.cq.hk, give it a try , why not?

check in the back of the sofa, pounds normally fall down there

If this is your first week it s fine just don t expect it to continue, people often lose more weight in their first week.It also may be worth doing a check to make sure you are actually eating enough and having a balanced diet.I m in a similar situation, but weight more, I m currently 75Kg and I m 5 4 I also go to the gym 5-6 days a week and make sure i eat between 1300 and 1700 calories a day, the more exercise i do the more I eat. I ve lost 19lb in 12 weeks. One thing to note is that after a while you may stick at the same weight for a bit, the best way over that is to shake up your routine, go to the gym at a different time or change your workout and try a cross trainer instead of the treadmill. I ve even found increasing my calories for a day then dropping back to normal has been enough to drop the lb s again.

wow you sure are going for it and good for you but I can not help but think this is a little too much on the exercise front as for the weight loss well you may find from week to week more weight loos and sometimes a little less keep an eye on it and I would say for the general weight loss hey how comfortable are you in your favourite jeans if the answer is very or they fit just right then fitness is the key thing not what you weigh and since your going to the gym a lot I d say your fitness is fine. I would say you may want to cut the gym down to three or four visits a week

Im a shopoholic (seriously), how can this be treated? -

I am literally a shopoholic (I m on a weight-loss program and psychologically I think I have substituted shopping for food!). What are some ways I can discipline myself to get my shopping/spending under control?

you may have an underlying psychological disorder. shopping a lot is often a sign of OCD or depression, especially when considering overeating in your past. you should seek professoinal help immediately, a therapist can give you help specialized for you, and treat underlying problems.get rid of your credit cards, stay busy so you don t have time to shop, find something even more fun to do, allow yourself to go shopping sometimes, but no more than once a week, and limit the amount you ll spend (carry only that amount with you, plus enough for gas, emergencies, etc., but don t use that for other purchases), go shopping only if you need something, buy only that

If you truly believe you are replacing one problem with another you need to seek counseling. I have knowm a few shopaholics, and they bought so much stuff and none of it needed, their credit card debt went to the roof, and they almost lost their home. This is like any addiction, food, gambling, work, shopping. They all need to be addressed. Get some counseling for starters, find out what emotional void you are trying to fill. Best of luck to you

Grt help from your doctor its a real problem

leave your credit cards at home, that way when you see something you have to think about it, and you can t whip out the card and charge it immediately

Don t go shopping. Take one day at a time. Think of the weight loss as a goal to reach and don t shop until you reach your goal. Didn t see Oprah s show about this, check out site below.

Give a trusted family member ALL credit and debit cards .. Keep no cash ... And if you need something You have to ask for it .Good luck

cut up your credit cards and send all your cash to me.

dont go shopping 24/7 like it sounds like you do

seek help at your local mental health clinic...you suffer from ocd [obssessive-compulsive disorder]...I know...I have it to....you need to be on meds ....else you ll degress to bankruptcy...take it from someone who s been there...done that...good luck sweetie

Get a lower limit put on your credit cards before you have way too much debit.

If you live in US, go to this site, they have lots of useful information and also you can email to ask them where you can get to one of their counsellors.http://www.troubledwith.com/Perhaps you can try some sports and develop a hobbie, to switch your attendtion on other things, not just only on shopping, etc.

see, my problem is i spend my parents money too much, but when i have my own money i watch what i spend. i usually never buy things i dont need with my own money, but with my parents money the ve bought me all kinds of things i want, but i dont need them. thats my problem, is wanting things and buying them -- if you still live at homei hope i helped

Well believe it or not self-help groups for it exist. Look them up at your local YMCA. My brother just went through one recently and hes better...

keep shopin coz i m the 1 too and im still alive and v happy :-)

SAVE $ BECOME A SHOPLIFTER INSTEAD.. ARE YOU LUCKY TO HAVE ENOUGH MONEY TO BE FAT AND BUY OUT THE MALL. dO YOU KNOW WHAT YOU SOUND LIKE? GIVE TO A CHARITY

i used to be a shopoholic and i have money to do that but i used to spend it all on clothes, purses, and shoes, the credit cards my parents gave me along with a lot of cash i froze so i couldn t use them

freeze your account. really put your cards in a cup of water and then the freezer. it wont ruin them if you have to have to use them.

try to live in a ghetto for 3 weeks

Have any great weight loss tips? -

Any one have any off the wall or out of the ordinary weight loss tips? Besides the obvious eat less, exercise more. Something really unusual that s worked for you or someone you know.

Hey it s worked for me, I ve lost 15 lbs in 2 months....eat more fish! I have started eating tuna fish crackers for lunch everyday w/ fruit and water and it just keeps coming off! Good luck, I know how it feels to stuggle!

Seriously, surgery. Yes, its risky , but it s also fast and you ll look a lot better . (:

if you go to the doctor some will give you a weight loss pills that will suprress yr brain not to eat. will take 3 mths .. very very effective but quite alot of side effects like cant sleep hypertension.. but after 3 mths make sure you control yr diet.. it werk for me previouly but after i stop taking the pills my appetite just grew and now i m back to square one.. well gd luck in yr weight loss program~

Eat your dinner first! Usually your dinner contains more calories than your breakfast. After dinner we usually sit down or wind down to get ready to go to bed. After breakfast we usually get up and go handle our days. It only makes sense to eat heavier in the morning and light at night since we are less active.Combine that with 8-10 glasses of water a day, 10-20 minutes of exercise (even walking), and getting enough sleep and the pounds should come off.Avoid alcohol, sugary treats (including pop), coffee, and treats in general. Substitute your ground beef with ground turkey, eat more fish, less pork, eat chicken breasts, dont fry food, use a smaller plate and weigh yourself once a week- not every day. Dont set a total weight goal- just tell yourself you plan on losing weight and celebrate it if you do! If you set a goal for 50 pounds but only lose 20- you may feel like you failed, but you really didnt because you lost 20.Hope these ideas help!

That s all you pretty much can do..besides taking diet pills. Which I don t suggest taking any pills because you ll get addicted..and after you stop taking them your metabolism will slow down. I always eat healthy..veggies..fruits..whole grain foods..I don t eat any meat, not because I m against it, but if anything I ll eat chicken or I ll eat fish for protein. I also exercise for 30 minutes on the treadmill twice a day. So usually after I eat, I exercise..which may seem extreme, but I like to exercise. Also I cut back on my calories and eat in moderation.

simple...diet and exercise together....also stay away from fast food, fried foods, food high in saturated fat. chicken, fish is good....beef, pork is not. limit carbs, eat protein, fruits and vegetables.

Yeah... count calories. Take in less than you burn. More here:http://www.chetday.com nuff said?

Cut out all fast food and all soft drinks, even diet. I ve lost 22 lbs since March by simply doing this. Lots of salads but don t limit yourself to only salad. Drink lots of water.

Walk, walk, walk. Make yourself walk more times in the house during regular chores. Make yourself walk by parking as far away from a store or mall entrance as you can. Walk up and down all aisles of all stores like Sam s or Wal Mart. Get up from your work place and take often breaks by walking another part of the work place. Avoid high fat foods. Avoid white foods: rice, potatoes, sugar, and flour. Eat as close to a diet as you can during the day. Then in the evening, how ever many portions of fruits and vegetables you are behind on from the day s intake, eat this for dinner as your first items. If still hungry, then choose low calorie foods to fill up. Drink water, coffee, unsweet tea, and diet colas, but drink more water than anything else. Don t give up. This takes a while to show big results, but over time you wll be a winner!

Is whole oatmeal with fruit a healthy weight-loss breakfast? -

i am on a diet n started excercising but found out eggs arent that great in diets so i switched to 1/2 cup of whole oatmeal w fruit for breakfast after my morning jogs. is that healthy for weight loss or is it too much? 3 thanks a mil!

Whole oatmeal is great for a healthy breakfast. Try adding a handful of almonds or walnuts to the oatmeal. The extra fiber and protein will help you feel fuller all morning long. Also, a 1/2 a cup of low fat or fat free milk gives you protein and calcium, both necessary after a morning workout. Having a good breakfast revs up your metabolism for the entire day, helping you burn more calories during the day. Try some of these healthy oatmeal recipes to start your day.http://www.healthy-diet-mom.com/healthy-Good luck and keep up the exercising and healthy eating!Mary

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Good Sites/Advice on healthy weight loss? -

Hey, so I d really like to get healthier. Right now I m a bit overweight, and I d really like to be skinnier, but healthier too. I m not one of those barbies that are like OMG I way 90 pounds, I need to lose 20 more! , I d just really like to be able to tell myself that I m healthy, without kididng myself. What are some good sites/books to get informed and started on what I should be doing? Any personal tips or advice you d like to share would be great too. :@)

I LOVE yoga. I started practicing 7 years ago and it has been the greatest tool for me. It has taught me to listen very carefully to my body and what it needs. Aside from this I think that Chalean Johnson and Tony Horton offer extremely good advice and have excellent programs that give a lot of helpful information. I also think that people can knock Richard Simmons but he has the Deal-a-Meal plan and his videos. My Mom lost 40 pounds doing his program. It is probably one of the most sensible and supportive programs available. I used to laugh at my Mom until I went home for Christmas last year, popped a tape in just to try it and found myself laughing, crying and sweating. It was great fun. Me of the extreme thinking really had a big change of heart. But I SWEAR by yoga as a good way to tune in.

How do you feel with your present weight? If you are comfortable than don t try to be skinnier. Otherwise you can try some free hand exercises on regular basis.

WebMD has a lot of good artcles. Self magazine s site is good, as is ediets.com (though they re always trying to sell you their meal service.)

run thats how i lost 20 pounds in a month.
