I Need Some Help With Weight Loss? -

i m currently 15 years old, almost 16. 5 1 , and about 150 pounds. my bmi 28.3, meaning that i m overweight (obviously). i d like to get down to a healthy weight of around 115-120...and if at all possible, i d like to lose most, if not all, of this weight by Christmas when i m getting together with my entire family. but how should i go about losing this weight?i ve heard a lot about the south beach diet. a lot of people in my family tried it and had amazing results. the book says that you lose about 14 pounds in the first 2 weeks. if i stay on phase one a little longer, will i still lose a pound/day? people have told me to start with a cleansing diet before i go into an actual diet . what are some good cleansing diets out there? preferably one that only last a day or two. what should i do about exercise? i have access to a treadmill, elliptical, bike, stair climber-ish thing, bowflex and free weights. where do i start??any other weight loss tips are greatly appreciated!!also, if anyone has some good recipes for South Beach Phase 1, please send them to me. =]you are loved.

I don t think a specific Diet is a good idea. hungrygirl.com has really good low calorie recipes. Stick to diet soda, water, tea, and coffee. You don t want to drink your calories! As for excercising, just start running on the treadmile for an hour every day for like half an hour. You ll burn lots of calories and get more energized!

Drink at least 8 glasses of water a day (not all at once). Don t drink soft drinks ! Soft drinks have TONS of carbs. Your body wants to burn carbs first, so don t give it carbs and you ll see a difference in 2 weeks. Eat low carb foods. Meats, cheese, eggs. Mix it in with some salad with moderate amount of dressing. Stay away from candy, pasta, bread, and most of all soft drinks. this is one of the most reasonable diets ive seen asked...well if u have that ball u could use it to do crunches to work ur abs and as a snack i recommend eating granola bars and tons of fruits and vegetables! also u need to eat chicken and fish to get proteins.

Don t eat unhealthy stuff.Find a way that will get you on the treadmill every day.I personally LOVE by bouncy balls (have 2) and I think that they are the best way to destress.

i m 18 and a half, 5 foot 2 and about 135 pounds. i d like to get down to 120-125 pounds by the end of the summer (late august so i have about 8/9 weeks?) and lose one size so my jeans wont be so tight anymore hahai love working out but i can t seem to control my hunger. i ll eat a ton of food, and they go mountain biking for an hour and then do pilates...i ve tried to cut back on food but then it seems like i don t have enough energy to work out at my usual intensity, and i end up just going overbored and pig out again...i have a full time summer job. and it seems like right now lunch is the hardest time of the day to eat healthy portions because i m home for a whole hour...would adding slim fast hunger control shakes or something to replace my lunch make me full enough to lose weight?sorry this is so long. any suggestions on hunger control/weight loss tips...thanks:)

I ve recently dropped a few pounds would like some advice on how to continue. Confession I haven t ran in over two weeks because grades are coming out soon and I ve been stockpiled with homework. I m 5 5 185 pounds.. I used to be 237.. It feels good seeing what I ve accomplished but it s not good enough yet. I throw shot and disk for track so as I melt fat I m trying to build muscle I ve cut out all pop.. I ve had one glass of juice in 2 months.. but I have a HUGE sweet tooth.. and I ve started eating healthier then I was but not like a health nut... I work in a restaurant ~14 hours a week and try to eat healthier if at all when I m done.. I walk about a mile home from work 3 days a week.. that s changing now to 4-5 times a week.. There s too much snow to run... Any advice or encouragement would be great guys.... I m 16 with a medium build btw.. and I drink water like it s going outta style :P

Walking a mile 3 times a week (I take it to work and back - so two miles maybe?) is really good. But you should try to do at least 20 minutes - one hour of intense cardio-exercise every day. i think your doing a great job...keep up all the good work! since your doing so much walking i would suggest leg and arm weights to help build muscle, they just valcro on...and with the snow you could do a workout video at home, they have lots to choose from at target for like $15. as far as that sweet tooth goes try yogurt parfaits with nonfat yogurt and fresh fruits and granola or grapenuts, or get some sugar free popsicles or fudge bars as they have very little calories and fat. and you can always chew gum when your trying to fight a craving :) hope you get to your goal ?

Congrats! sounds to me like youve done excellent so far! Im 17 yrs old and im currently trying to lose a little bit of extra weight. Well Whats been helping me is basically Cardio. Cardio is one of the best things you can do to keep the weight off and burn fat. You could always try to eat less carbs. Our body uses carbs as energy, Well the less carbs you eat the more body fat your body is going to use! I used to have a huge sweet tooth also. After eating not eating any sweets in over a month ANY kind of fruit stops my sweet craving. What you are doing souds good. If you have access to a gym weightlifting also helps cut fat and theres always treadmills and ellipticals etc so you can do more cardio!. Keep up the good work!!
