I am looking for a healthy weight loss program that is fairly easy and doesnt involve deprivation. ? -

I am 19 years old, I would like something that doesn t require physical activity to start off with and is fairly easy for a college student who doesn t have immense amounts of time to spend planning and organizing. I am looking to lose 90 to 100 lbs. I know that it won t be easy or quick, but I am looking for something healthy. Any suggestions/pointers would be helpful. Also some good exercise programs that would help!

I believe if you don t want /have to time to start with exercise immediately, than I would begin with eating alot of fruit and vegetables and drinking lots of water..just having a glass of water sitting by you at alltimes, you will be amazed at how often you reach for it and just sip on it. Still enjoy the meals you like say for lunch or supper and make the other two meals and snacks loaded with fruit and vegetables. I personally take a multi vitamin, drink lots of water and drink alot of green tea od various sorts green tea is very healthly and if you check it out can help with weight loss as well i have added a link below that may be of interest to you.

My daughter found the only thing which worked for her was joining Slimming World - she tried Weight Watchers but that didn t work for her.I don t know if they have Slimming World in the USA (guessing from your spelling of programme) but it sounds as though it s a regime which is easy to follow and isn t painful!

Easy (and Sexy) Ways to Lose 50 Pounds a Year Exercise for 15-20 minutes. If you have a weight problem, chances are you also have a problem with regular exercise. That s probably because you tried to do too much. Just commit to 15 minutes a day. That s not hard at all. And don t do anything intense, especially for the first month. Take it easy -- do a few crunches, a few push ups, jog in place for a few minutes. If you do this every day, you ll burn 100-150 calories, depending on your size and metabolism.? Replace a fatty snack with veggies. Potato chips, fries, anything that s greasy -- those are laden with calories. Fat is the most calorie-filled food type there is. If you eat a snack like this every day, replace it with cut-up carrots, broccoli, celery, or a salad (with low-fat dressing, not anything fatty).? Have sex daily. One of the best exercises there is. Of course, you ll need to do it beyond your usual three minutes. If you can get 15 minutes of sex in a day, you can burn 150 calories. You also might need to find a willing partner. The exercise in the item above might help with that.

Three main things:What to eat to lose weight !You can actually eat normally in terms of quantity and quality. The difference between before and now is that you are trying to reduce calories and that should only reflect in the amount of calories you take. So what you need to learn is the kind of foods you can afford to eat in quantities that satisfy your hunger without accumulating unwanted calories. Fatty foods contain the highest amounts of calories followed by sugary stuffs. -Chicken and Fish contain lean protein and are excellent as part of your diet. All forms of white meat that contains very little amounts of cholesterol should be part of your diet.-Fruits - Fruits are going to be your very good friend from now on.-Beans- Beans is an excellent food for weight watchers. It contains a lot of proteins but also has some high amount of carbohydrate. So do not eat too much of it at a time.-Acai Berries- Recently there is this new fruit from the Amazon now very popular ever since it appeared on Oprah show. It is a high fiber content fruit that helps to create quick satisfaction and you actually stop eating.Exercise !If you are yet to know that exercise is important for good health, you are already living a high risk lifestyle. It s true! If you don t know, it only means you have been doing all the wrong things all these years and your case must be looked into urgently. Your muscles will become flabby and weak. Your heart and lungs may fail to function properly. What you dont now is that, you can even afford to eat all the wrong foods if your are exercising regularly. That means, lack of exercise may be killing you more than the cigarette you are smoking.Weight Loss- As you must have heard before, you can not loss weight without exercises. It is improper to try to loss weight on diet alone. Exercise is responsible for burning your body fat to help you loss the it. Exercise is also a key to weight control because it burns calories. If you burn off more calories than you take in, you lose weight. Taking in less amount of calorie alone will not help you loss weight you need to exercise to assist the weight loss process. WOOOO! Lost 3 1/2 pounds... BUT!? -

SO I started eating really healthy and exercising on Monday, today is Saturday. I weighed myself after going to the bathroom and was 188.5. I used to be 192. I was soooo excited because I have never really lost weight. The problem is, I lost 3 and a half pounds in only 5 days though. Supposedly your only supposed to lose 2 pounds in 7 days at maximum for healthy weight loss. Although, I am DEFINITELY not starving myself. I thought I was eating a little bit too much. Is it okay to be losing this much?

Congratulations first of all!Anyways, what may have happened was that you cut most of the salt out of your diet and sarted drinking more water which flushes salt out of your body. Which means your retaining less water weight and losing some of it. If you lost 3.5 pounds in 5 days, probably only .75 to 1.5 (at very best) pounds of that is actual fat loss, the rest can probably be attributed to losing water weight which comes back quickly after you stop your diet. As long as you don t feel sick, it s very normal. Hope I helped!Keep up the great work and good luck!

It may be water weight, muscle loss, and of course fat loss, or a combination of the 3. As long as you aren t starving yourself you should be losing fat and not muscle, then water weight will be ruled out if you start to see a downward trend for a few weeks. Personally I lose 20+lbs in the first 2 weeks, then slowed to the regular 2lb/week area. Your weight can fluctuate up and down up to 10 lbs, but just keep trying hard, don t give up, and soon you ll see you re down to the healthy weight you re aiming for.

Yeah it s fine hun, just make sure you dont lose weight to fast.your on a good steady rate though, keep up the good work! Oh and may i ask how you lost it that fast? i wouldnt mind doing what you do ;P

you are fine, as long as youre truly not starving yourself. Often times the first 10lbs you lose is water weight anyway...

Ramadan: What are some random weight loss tips? -

What are some random weight gain tips What does Islam say about weight?

well lots of tips have been given, umm but as you have asked regarding islam, so yes eating according to islamic way does make you healthy !just few example, i always drink water before starting meal coz my parents told me to as our prophet used to follow it means its Sunnah.... wter is important for digestion of food, better digested food is good for health, secondly you don t eat to the full s alreding having some wter in your stomach so it stop you from over eating, giving stiety effect !..so automtically, you eat less, means put less weight !our prophet used to chew the food properly before swallowing..again, take longer time, feelling full soon nd good digestion ! Also small food in intervals instead of much food t one time..that improves yoru digestion ! and never eat to the full, always leave some space in your stomach !there r many more..but for simple tips, get all the carbs out of your daily diet, including junk, bread (swith to brown bread if cn t tolerate the hunger)..take more protein and vitamens by vagies, fruits,..fish is better than chicken and chicken is better than beef n mutton, so either fish or chicken should be preffered...!green tea also help reducing the weight(not documented though) but it is good for healthy stomach !....water is important, drink as much s you can...with intervals..! eliminating carbs from food would swith yoru body to use extra fat for energy ! protein would come lateralso regular hlf n hour walk or even excercise is helpful ! morning brisk walk before breakfast burns more calories ...! n there re many more ..! :) tc!

Yes, you must take care of your health. Your body has a right and you have to fulfill that. Islam asks us If you do not know ask those who know . Regarding health and tips, whom you should ask is those who are experts in this field. A doctor or a nutritionist etc. Then ask your Imaam what are Halal and Haraam. (Like playing football is not haraam. But wearing shorts above kness and missing prayers etc makes such games Haraam).About health what I know is this Hadith.Imam Muslim narrated in his Sahih on the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said:The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both. Guard over that which benefits you, seek Allahs Assistance, wa laa tajiz (do not loose hope or deem yourself incapable), and if something befalls you, then dont say If I only would have done such and such, rather say, Qaddarallahu wa maa sha faal (Allah ordained (this) and He does what He wills), for verily the phrase If I would have opens the gate for the work of Shaytan.

1. drink alot of water2. have a healthy snack between meals (like fruit and yogurt)3. don t eat before sleep in 2-3 hours4. eat meals with less calories and hence you can eat more throughout the dayso try avoiding fast food and oily foods .. you can have them once a week if you like as a change 5. eat 4 types of veges daily (it makes you feel full) and that could be as salad with any meal you eat6. walking is a great and easy exercise and swimming burns a huge amount of calories Islam says to keep our body healthy .. and not abusing it in anyway

Islam!! tells us not to over eat, never eat until ur uncomfortable thats a sin. Eating and throwing up unpurpose is a sin. Eat health and exercise, thats why we fast to clean our system and also to I think to feel the pain of hunger for there are millions around the world who feels that pain without a choice.

I read somwhere that our prophet Muhammad(pbuh) said that we should eat so not to die, not eat until we are full and feel like we are going to explode. We should section our stomach in 3, one third for food, one third for water and one third for air.

You should have a healthy diet.Have 5 or 6 small portioned meals a day rather than 3 big meals.Don t forget fruit, veg and plenty of water.

eat smaller portionseat a lot of fruitsdrink a lot of waterexercise

Eat less.

wear a jacket and blow yourself out.................

When u wanna snack eat some fruit

Anorexia recovery and weight gain? -

some help would be greatly appreciated.well its been about a year that i have been in recovery.i was underweight and anorexic with a bmi of 16/17.and then i had to gain weight, which is the worst possible feeling to lose all that control. anyway, since then i have gained a lot of weight and now my bmi is 21. and of course, being an anorexic in recovery, i want to lose weight... but it seems like even if i eat healthy (about 1300 cals a day), no weight comes off. what can i do? (i just want some healthy weight loss for the summer!)thanks

I am also in recovery, though I haven t been there as long as you lol. My theory is that we are so used to losing at least a pound every time we get on the scales (or else seeing it rocket up to gaining six or seven after a binge . ) that losing weight slowly seems othing is happening at all. I have a bmi now of 18.9 and I want to get it down to 18.5, WHICH IS STILL HEALTHY, and doing it properly is so difficult and seems to take ages. Just keep going the way you re going and it ll start to work soon enough. Don t cut back anymore or start fasting again ot you might end up back where you started, and that s pure hell . Good luck!!

you can take your butt back to the doctor and tell them you are not recovered.

Will this diet plan work? -

Hi. I m 5 3 I weight 170 lbs. I designed my own weight loss program and I want to know if you think it will work. My plan is to drop 34lbs. in 17 weeks. (2lbs. per week.) I will eat a Carnation Instant Breakfast every morning (130 calories), For a snack I can have a piece of fruit (no more than 100 calories), for lunch any Leancuisine under 300 calories, for dinner anything on my 300 calories and under list (pretty extensive list filled with vegs. and lean meats). After work i will stretch for 30 minutes, do some exercises for 30 minutes (I have a sheet listing different ones like crunches and push ups etc.), then I will go and run 1 mile and a 1/2 mile cool down walk. Then I will stretch for 10 minutes. Do you think doing this plan will work? My fiance will be gone for boot camp and I want to impress him with the weight loss when he comes home. So I have plenty of motivation. Thanks for any input you can offer!

i lov the reason why!!!well I think that yes you should do the cool down walk but an hour or so after that I think that you should grab a bud or a mp3 or an ipod and walk for at least 3 milesdude...with a bud it is so much fun!!!you will lov ur results nd ur reason why is awesome!

830 calories or less per day when you re also doing physical activity strikes me as very low, potentially even dangerous. An active woman in your height range should be getting closer to 1200-1400 if she s trying to lose weight. Allow yourself a little more flexibility; you ll be less prone to hunger pangs and cheating that way. Talk to a nutritionist if you need more specific guidance.

I do know that a friend of mine ,when having a vacation/cruise looming in the future, will go on the South Beach diet for two weeks. The pounds seem to melt off her. This is a diet restricting starches and carbs, so if you love breads, pastas, and the like, this is probaly not the best solution for you.

i would suggest running before you exercise... as far as the diet is concerned, just be sure to mix it up a bit... fruits n veggies... and yogurts... and shakes... they are all high in water content and fill you up quickerwhat types of exercises did you have planned?

It will work for about three days, that is until you get weak from hunger and exhausted from running without any energy.

I am very concerned about your diet. Ask yourself if this is realistic for you to be on for the REST OF YOUR LIFE. No? Then you plan on stopping your diet after you lose the weight...which means you ll gain weight back. People are so confused about diet and exercise. You don t whittle your eating down to nothing when you start exercising...you need to eat more. I lost 35lbs in 3 months by exercising 14-16 times a week and eating 2800-3100 calories a day to sustain this activity. You need to eat. Otherwise, your body thinks that it s in a starvation scenario, so everything you eat gets stored as your body s long-term energy source: FAT. You wouldn t try to drive your car across the country on just 1/4 tank of gas, would you? No? So why are you trying to deprive your body of its fuel and expecting it to perform?Over half of your calories are coming from pre-packaged, processed foods. Because you ll be exercising, you re asking your body to do better...and if you ask your body to do better, you need to feed it the proper foods. You need to not only eat more often (5-6 times a day, 2-3 hours apart), but you need to eat better. When you re making your dinner filled with veggies and lean meats, make more so you can have leftovers. This will be much healthier for you than a Lean Cuisine, which are loaded with preservatives and lots of sodium. Having a Carnation Instant Breakfast isn t nearly as good for you as, say, an egg white omelet with veggies wrapped up in a tortilla or served on whole grain bread. If this is hard for you because of time constraints, you can try eating at work (if possible) or make yourself a protein shake and have a couple fruits. Each of your meals, SNACKS INCLUDED, should be composed of lean protein and natural carbs. This is best for your body. Having a piece of fruit for a snack isn t as good as having a piece of fruit with natural peanut butter, or veggies with hummus. You can try coating popcorn in chocolate protein powder for a tasty, healthy snack as well. The combinations are really endless.I m interested also in your exercises for 30 minutes, but your exercise regimen sounds pretty good. Let me suggest that instead of stretching for 30 minutes before your workout, you stretch for 5 minutes after a 5 minute warm-up of a brisk walk or light jog. Stretching your muscles for a long time relaxes them, and that s not what you need right before a workout. Feel free to finish each workout with 30 minutes of yoga. This will be extremely beneficial. You have a plan, but these suggestions will make you much more successful. I ve been there and done that. Don t worry: your fiance will come back very thin because of how much activity they re doing and how relatively little they re eating, but once he gets back into a more normal life, he ll plump up a bit. It s not that he s doing much better than you did, he was simply malnourished. I know...I was a Marine.

Is it possible to lose about 7pounds in 10days? if so, how? -

I understand people says healthy weight loss is about 2 pounds per week.

I think you are expecting an awful lot from your body, to loose such a huge amount in just 10 days.It WILL definitely put your body systems under stress. Then in another 10 days you will most properly put it at least 5 or 6 pounds back on. Why not do it in a way that is proven to work and aim for 5 pounds ? Remember there are NO magic potions or diets only people who get rich on selling them. Loosing weight involves life style changes including diet and exercise, then maintaining it as a continual life style. If you go on a reduction diet that advocates only eating one or two of the food groups its not going to last, for you can t expect to continue to maintain your health that way.So the weight you have worked so hard to loose ,will go straight back on. There is plenty of free information available on weight reduction and appropriate exercise.Research it, and make your decision on what will suit your needs, as a lifestyle change. Then set your boundaries and goals. There is no reason why that 10 pounds will be not gone forever and you be healthier ,fitter and happier in 3weeks. What a great Xmas /New years present to give yourself . You CAN do it.

Yes its possible, just not healthy. To lose a pound you must burn 3500 calories, to burn 7 pounds you ve gotta burn 42,500 calories. So I would suggest going to the doctor and getting an enema, that alone can shed some pounds. Now exercise excessively, hardly eat( no salt) and drink only water. Good luck.

cut off 1 foot a day for 7 days, run out of feet, try inches.

lossing 7 pounds in 10 days may affect your health. be patiebt when you want to loss weight. it is always better to follow the healthy weight loss.

A couple of years ago this is what i did and I lost 22pounds(10kg) in about 10days. seriously. I felt so good too. I brought an appetite suppresent it was a really cheap one at the time but it worked awesome. I would get up in the morning and eat an apple or something just to get my metabolism going.. then take a tablet. Then i would just carry a bottle of water around with me and drink that when i was a bit peckish.. I kept myself busy throughout the day though to keep my mind off food. I used to walk 20minutes into the city and 20minutes back almost each day. Then at 6pm i would get on my airwalker for 20minutes, then i would get on the trampoline for about 10 minutes and lay on my back and throw a basketball up in the air and catch it, for arm execises. If I did get hungry i would eat dried biscuits or something or crackers.. and i would just have a small portion of plain steamed vegies for dinner. I hope that helps. It worked awesome for me, but I was a bit stupid with it all at the time. and stressed from other things so i wasnt really interested in eating anyway. I went from 141pounds to 119pounds in a wekk and a half. goodluck

Cut out carbs. Im Jewish so on Passover we cant eat any kind of leavened bread for a week. I normally lose about 10 pounds. Try eating really really healthy foods such as salad for a week.

u can, but it will all be water weight.this means that ur measurements will stay the same but u will weigh less.ur skin won t look nice, ur eyes will start to turn yellow, and u ll have dry lips.seriously, not very sexy.to lose weight quickly (if u still wanna do it) is simply to knock everything outta ur diet and don t drink anything... ahhh ull be dehydrated and malnourished in no time.however if u wanna actually LOOK better, try doing 100 toe touches each night (hands down to the ground then up to the sky - feet together), do a walk-job-sprint combination for 20 minutes each day, 5 situps, 5 pushups - and no junk food. cut down ur servings...and within 10 days u could lose 3-5 pounds (hey, why not, maybe 7)good luck, take care, and i bet ull be looking awesome in no time!

i have head people losing 7+ on 10 days of the master cleanser diet which is a detox diet, pretty much water weight but if you need to be smaller for a special occasion i think it would work for you

not unless you dont have anything but water.

Could inducing long-term coma be used to treat morbid obesity? -

If it was possible to induce a coma-like deep sleep for a period up to 2 years (and of course be able to wake them after such time) a morbidly obese patient would have the most effective weight loss program and NOT suffer in the process.

No, this wouldn t work. Here is why: The body would still need to eat, in order to do that it the person would have a tube feedings which still has calories. Even more, the body in a coma is in a shut down process. So the body is in a anabolic state verses a catabolic state. So fat in t being broken down. But at least your thinking...Morbid obesity is a serious condition--if you or someone you know is morbidly obese, I REALLY recomend the Gastric Band. Where a surgeon will make a small incision and stich in a band around the antrum of the stomach which limits the amount of food a person can eat. SO by decreaseing the caloric intake and think about how much energy a person who weight 300-400 lbs have to burn off by walking, the body will start using the fat storage to make the enegy to move the body., thus decreasing size.

desperation????? sounds like some kind of torture?

In short, no. Muscles in our body help burn calories- the more muscle mass you have, the higher rate your body burns energy. The problem with this proposition is muscle atrophy where inactivity decreases muscle mass. This is why people go to the gym on a regular basis. On another note, if the person is induced in a coma -discounting that it would require a cocktail of drugs ; their social life would be definitely lacking. Good diet, exercise and discipline is required. This is also allows the person to have a sense of achievement which the coma does not provide, I believe that even though the person may not exhibit any physical damage, the psychological and emotional may be huge. Hope this helps

What?! And what about the person s LIFE!? Plus, being in a long-term coma is very dangerous. Muscles atrophy, permanent damage could be done.

Sounds neat. I m sure they d be more than willing to pay for it. But what mental state would they be in knowing they lost two years to sleep? Possibly better than in their obese state now, but possibly worse. Would have to go through a psychologist, I m sure.

Sounds like a good idea for well-off obese people who maybe don t have a social life or any responsibilities they have to worry about. Honestly, if nothing else was working for me, and I was feeling depressed and not really doing anything with my life, I d be down for that. It d be like a trip to the future, only you stay there and your skinny.
