How to lose weight? important!? -

how can you lose weight fairly quickly but healthily?i know there is no instant weight loss but what works?

Well first of all, I m going to warn you about some myths and things NOT to do, then I ll give you some tips. MYTH: six small meals are better then three large ones. A lot of people think six small meals is better for weight loss, but really it s no better or worse then a regular three meals. As long as what you eat is healthy and you are keeping an eye on calories, you should do whatever is more convenient. MYTH: Carbs are bad. Low carb diets are bad for you. In the case of people with certain health problems, they HAVE to avoid carbs, but for a normal individual who exercies, carbs are good, as they give you energy. A low carb diet is practically a starvation diet. However, there are bad carbs and good carbs. The bad ones are found in fried, high fat type foods. The good ones are found in healthy foods like granola, oatmeal, pasta, and whole wheat bread. MYTH: Drinking water makes you lose weight. Water is good for you, and you should make sure you get enough. It has many health benefits and you should always drink it after exercising a lot, but no, it s not going to make you lose weight. MYTH: You can never have unhealthy food or it will ruin your diet. Diets with no breaks or rewards are boring and too easy to give up on. Although you want to avoid unhealthy junk food, you should have a free day once per week, in which you enjoy whatever you want. Anyway, those are a few common ones. The keys to weight loss are, obviously, diet and exercise, but never go on too strict a diet. Rather, you should have a healthy eating plan, in which you limit your intake of junk food, fast food, or otherwise unhealthy food, and make sure you get balanced meals including all the food groups, particularly fruit and vegetables. But like I said above, junk food once per week is all right, in fact if you have eaten healthy all week, and exercised, you are supposed to give yourself a reward. As for exercise, cardiovascular exercises are what help you lose weight (running, biking, swimming, hiking, dance, ect.) If you have never exercised before, then you can start out with 30-40 minutes of it per day, or at least 5 days a week. As you get in shape, then once a week you should make it a bit harder, for example, up the time to 50 minutes, or if you can t do it longer, up the intensity. Which means work a little harder every week. If you are walking, then try running for half the time, or if you re biking, try to go faster... Some options for exercise: Join a local Fitness Club: Once you have a membership, you can go in anytime and jog on the tredmill or whatever. There are multiple exercise machines to pick from, and you can ask whoever is working there to help you out if you ve got questions. Exercise around the neighborhood: If you don t have the money for a fitness membership, you can just jog or bike around the block of your neighborhood. Find out when races are: Usually, there are some every week if you know where to look, from short three mile jogs to full 26 mile marathons. Tip: Get a buddy to exercise with you. Oh and lastly, just remember, never eat below 1,500 calories per day, and don t skip breakfast. Skipping breakfast makes you gain weight. In fact, skipping any meal is bad. Also, try to avoid eating after 7pm, as late night snacks also cause weight gain. Good luck.

Well I lost 10 pounds in two weeks by keeping a journal. This is what one of the pages looked like:Saturday, September 20th, 2008Goals for today:-exercise for at least 45 minutes-drink at least 6 glasses of water todayExercise planned for today:-soccer game at 10:30 amBreakfast:-life cereal with milkLunch:-tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread-1/2 apple-1 cookie with milkDinner:-burrito with sour cream-side salad with ranch dressing-1 brownie-waterThis was today. I am still losing weight. I have different goals and exercise plans every day and I record my meals as I eat them. Always remember to put the date on the top of the page. By the way, I m 13 yeas old. Also, try this as a daily exercise:http://www.easy-weightloss-tips.com/target-exercises.html

A quick reply to your question would be; combine interval training with a calorie deficit in your diet low enough to allow your resting metabolic rate to burn enough calories per day to help you lose weight. I highly suggest working out how many calories per day you should drop your diet by to start losing weight by using the calculator you can download at http://caloriedefecitcalculator.blogspot There are also some very useful tips on http://weightburningsecretsrevealed.blogThe best of luck with your weight loss journey!

Start off by exercising everyday... If nothing else, go for a 30 minute run.. your fitness will increase at an amazing rate as you find you are able to do more and more exercise.

I suggest going on a raw food diet.

i really really want to lose weight but how can someone please give me an answer thanks

Visit my Yahoo 360 page.

You have to come up with some type of a reward system, this will help keep you motivated. One of the best things to do is make a contingency contract. Stating what you want to do, who will help you do it, and what do you get for doing it. Then also try to find a well balance diet program. My friend did this one diet program where the average weight lose is 7 pounds in 9 days. It might be the thing you are looking for, I know it s well balanced. If you want e-mail me and I can tell you more about either of these.

It s simple, excercise + a nutritious balanced diet = weight loss.Try walking more often, taking stairs rather than lifts and dancing to music that you enjoy. Also, drink more water, eat more fruit and veg, wholemeal foods and try to have home cooked meals rather than processed ready meals or fast food. Don t punish yourself by eliminating all your favorite foods, just cut down on the portions of them and replace the rest with something more healthy.

there s no secret formula. you must burn more calories than you take in. proper eating (you know what s good for you) and exercise will do it

How a kid can lose weight without pills etc? -

i am a 13 year old boy and weigh too much. I want to lose weight but how can i safely without pills, foods, surgery, etc. What i mean by foods is those weight lost foods i will eat fruits, vegetables etc. Just tell me please how to lose weight quickly and safely

ok im the same as you, im 13 and weigh to much, but i have been losing weight, what i did was i started boxing, i do this monday, wednesday and friday, and everyouther day i go swiming or biking etc... then just eat healthy food, like only have a small ammout of junk food a week, and just dont give up!

My advice is to drink lots of water to start. Sometimes it s easy to think you re hungry when you re really just thirsty/dehydrated. Carry a bottle of water around with you. Drink a glass of water when you wake up, and before every meal. It s healthy for you and you ll feel better. Next I would suggest walking. Walking makes weight drop off you! Walk home from school, or walk somewhere with a friend, you ll forget it s exercise and it ll be fun and you ll get some fresh air.You can also join a sport at school. It s fun, you ll make new friends, and you ll get tons of exercise. Talk to your parents about your interest in your health. Your whole family can get involved in small ways, like picking out healthier meals to cook together, etc.Good luck, be healthy, and don t worry, you can do it!!

well dont really worry about trying to do it quickly because if you do some crazy diet youll gain the weight back twice as fast , im 15 so i can understand if you want to lose it fast because of the kids at school but dont worry about them! ... change your diet to fruits , vegetables, and lean meats and fish. every night run around the neighborhood for ten minutes every night for a week then the next week run for 20 and so on..

Come to grips with the fact that you have an overactive fork. You can eat anything but not a lot and not every day. And move your body, even if it s just walking 20 minutes a day.

Read the articles available here http://onlineloseweight.info. These articles will guide you, tell what you can do in order to loose weight.

(a) eat less(b) exercise moreThere are no other options, period.

work out,eat healthy, cut down on your portions run or do other cardio for an hour or more a day

eat less and do more exercise. simple. lol join a sports team or something

You didn t mention if you re really overweight or just want to tone up? I have lost like 16 pounds in the last couple of months by eating cereals high in fiber , a big lunch and a salad for dinner, the other part is you need to exercise at least four times a week. The first few weeks most of the weight loss is water , then it gets harder but by then you ll hopefully will start feeling better and working out more.

I suggest that you try body cleansing. I tried it and really got lean quickly. I lost 15 pounds in 9 days and also 3 inches off my waist. I do body sculpting so getting leaner was my goal. My sister did this program too and she lost a lot of weight quickly. I did not know too much about cleansing but there are a lot of TV commercials about this stuff. This is a body cleanse and not just a colon cleanse, I wanted my body to get lean quickly and this did the trick! You can get info at this toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or online at http://diet4cleansing.com

Get some 3- 5 pound set of dumbbells. There are so many toning exercises you can do at home to tone and tighten everything.Lounges and squads are the best exercise to firm up your legs and bun. Eat a good healthy low fat diet and get walking you will feel super and you will look super. If you have any questions email me i did be glad to teach you different toning and slimming techniques.I highly recommend walk at home DVDs by LESLIE SANSONE. Good luck and God Bless.

In order to lose weight, you need to eat 3,500 calories less a week to lose one lb a week. Therefore, you must eat 500 less calories a day, or combine with exercise (Recommended). In regards to diet, eat two servings of fruit a day (fruit has a lot of sugar, even though it is natural, three servings adds sugar you do not need). Eat vegetables in abundance because they provide the vitamins and minerals neccessary for your body to perform at it s best. Make the bulk of your diet whole grains and NO white flour! It s a simple carb that does your body no good! Wheat and Whole grains are complex carbs that provide your body with good energy. Try not to eat an excess amount of animal protein unless you have a palm sized serving of lean meat (chicken, turkey). Don t eat fried foods, because the excess fat is not healthy! Last but not least, don t eat candy and junk food, besides the occasional treat! Remember- eat to live, don t live to eat! To lose weight and tone up, you need to combine cardio and weight training. Start off slow, and progress week to week. If you don t eat 500 less calories a day, burn off the extra with cardio. Make it fun and listen to music to boost your energy! Starving yourself will never help! Make sure you do not miss any meals! Eat a big breakfast, medium lunch, and light dinner.

Walking very briskly is your best bet. Start out the first week doing 10 minutes a day and build this up. I have been doing this for 3 months and walk about 13 miles a week. I also recommend Pilates. Again, start out slow and work your way up. I do this for 20 minutes a day. I am seeing results and so are others! Good Luck!!

1) RunningRunning is one of best activities you can do. It doesn t require special equipment (except some quality shoes) and you can do it anywhere. Best of all, you burn serious calories, especially if you add hills and sprints. A 145-lb person can burn 300 (at 5.2 mph) in 30 minutes. The downside is, it takes lots of practice and you should watch your knees and ankles for any discomfort or pain

How to lose weight really fast? -

i wanna be in shape.

1 Dietary Balance and reading labels: watch what you eat, and expend more energy than you consume. Its really that simple. This involves some calculation. The approximate normal daily caloric requirement for an average male who performs light activity is 2,200; for a female, it is 1,900.Do the math. Eat less and eat at least five meals a day. Your actual caloric requirement can differ depending on your height, weight, activity level and your body s metabolic rate.http://knowdiet.blogspot.com/2 Identify your exercise. No exercise was created equal. You might like running, so run. You might like jogging, so jog. You might like stationary bikes, so bike stationary. Find the one that works best for you. Dont pick a routine that you dont like and wont stick with it for long. http://knowexercise.blogspot.com/3 Try yoga. Yoga is one of the best ways of losing weight. Of course I cant go into a full lecture about yoga over here but I can tell you that I have never seen people with better-toned bodies than those who practice yoga. One of the benefits of yoga is that you learn to control virtually every muscle and joint of your body so that the issue of weight gain will cease to exist.http://knowingyoga.blogspot.com/4 Photos and Joining online support group : Take before and after photos. Theres no easier way to illustrate your progress. Its essential that you not feel alone, and reaching out to friends helps as they know things that you couldnt possibly know, and theyve probably been in your shoes at some point in the past (or present). Share stories, laughter, tears, successes, and failures. There are thousands of communities out there, so keep looking until you find one that fits you.http://learnfriendship.blogspot.com/5 Water you waiting for If youre not drinking enough water, your body will let you know. Thirst is an amazing sensation C quench it. If youre not hydrated, your body wont be working at peak levels. If youre worried about water weight, remember that youre likely to retain more water when youre not giving your body enough of it in the first place. Im not going to dictate how many glasses you should drink, though C as thats going to vary from person to person.http://knowingbody.blogspot.com/6 Zone out. Theres a reason why people exercise to their favorite music C listening to external stimulus takes your mind off of the physical activity making exercise time fly or situate yourself in front of TV or video games involving exercises.http://knowingmusic.blogspot.com/7 Sleep it off. To be an efficient fat-burning machine, If you think that youre doing yourself a favor by sleeping less, youre mistaken. Give your body time to rest itself, both mentally and physically. Sleep is very, very important. http://sleepnicely.blogspot.com/ 8 Keep a food diary. All you have to do is jot down what, when, and how much you eat in a notebook, or you can do it online at a Web site . A food diary gives a clear picture of your current eating habits so you can identify the changes you need to make to lose weight.http://handlingtime.blogspot.com/9 Be confident and motivated. You need to believe in yourself!. Learn to evaluate your efforts fairly and objectively. If you fail to achieve your target , find out why is it so. After evaluating, look ahead. When you have thought of giving up, visualize how good you will look when you manage to slim down successfully. http://learnconfidence.blogspot.com/http://knowmotivation.blogspot.com/

Be activeBeing more active and staying that way is one of the key strategies for long term success. Finding something you enjoy, and can fit into daily life helps ensure you keep it up. Walking suits many people (see below), but gardening, dancing, team sports, gym workouts, martial arts, any active hobby all count. Doing it with someone else boosts motivation too.

Keep it balancedMake meals automatically healthy, balanced and satisfying. Half fill your plate with plenty of vegetables and salad and divide the other half between lean protein-rich foods such as lean meat, chicken, fish, pulses, Quorn or tofu and healthy carbs such as pasta, new potatoes, Basmati or brown rice.

A food diary helps you recognise this trigger or non-hungry eating, which in turn places you in a better position to deal with it. For example, make a conscious choice to eat (or not to eat - see below) a food. Or plan ways to avoid triggers in the first place, for example, keep binge foods out of the house or join an evening class to keep you away from the TV, crisps and wine bottle!

ha good luck with that.... its not easy,, its very very hard... well you have to put your mind in it... dont eat too much junk food etc... and exercise,,, im trying to lose weight 2 years now.. i will lose 5 pounds and gain it right back,, its bc im so stressed etc

Lean meats, whole grains, lots of veggies, and a regulated caloric intake will assist your exercise regimen and help you see better results. Use a calorie tracking website like thedailyplate and work hard.Targeted exercise won t spot reduce fat. If you want to lose weight in your thighs it ll be a full body process.Good luck!

Some people say that targeted weight loss is not feasible but if you are struggling to shed weight from your waist it may be due to excess waste material in your insides, not excess body fat. You can take a supplement to rinse out up to 20 lbs from your torso, there is a risk free trial at http://boblus.xpresit.net

The key to losing weight is to burn more calories than you take in, and a pound of body fat equates to approximately 3500 calories. That said, check out this article titled The 10 Minute Ab Workout . Just click on the link below:http://www.burnfatforlife.com/blog/the-1Best of luck!

Lean meats, whole grains, lots of veggies, and a regulated caloric intake will assist your exercise regimen and help you see better results. You can do different kinds of sit-ups to help and maybe do some squats for your thighs.

How do you lose weight in your arms? -

It seems that I can only lose weight in my stomach but I would like to know how to lose weight in my arms. Anythhing is better than nothing.

You cannot lose weight in just specific body areas. Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. Vary your routines. Don t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn t adjust to any one routine. An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc.

Freeweights and isometrics are your best bet. Don t get a freeweight set that s too heavy, either. Secondly, you can get wrist weights as well that add a certain level of extra weight to every movement of your hand, which makes even the most mundane things you do with your hands burn just that much more energy.Isometrics is simple, you can even do it while sitting watching television - get a slight weight of around three to five pounds and simply hold it in your outstretched arm/hand for as long as you can. When the weight overwhelms you, rest and proceed with the other arm. Alternate and you ve got a nice little mindless exercise that should tone your arms over time.

exercising a particular part of the body does not necessarily mean that that is where there will be noticeable change. Even so doing push ups and lifting weight could help because then you build the muscles there and they continue to burn fat even long after you have stopped the exercise.

for a day or two log what you eat normally. go www.my-calorie-counter.com to enter your foods. this will give you an idea of how carbs protein and fats you eat regularly. cut your calorie intake by 30%. avoid starchy foods like potato yams breads. eat more protein. decrease your food intake learn to lift weights start off really light like 8 lbs. 12-15 reps twice. increase lbs every week until you reach 20 lbs or whatever is comfortable for you. check out other info on the net.
