Exercise Question...? -

I m working on a serious weight loss program right now where I exercise 4 to 6 times a week. I heard it s good to have atleast 3 days of strength/weight training...my question is, when going to the gym, is it better to do the cardio/fat burning first? or the weights first? or does it not matter?

Actually, I believe that doing cardio first helps to keep your heart rate up during strength training. With your heart rate up, you will burn more fat while lifting weights than you would if your heart rate was low. The best thing to do is to speak with someone who is certified in this field. If you don t want to spend the money on a trainer, just see if you can ask a trainer some of these basic questions so that you can design your own workout (search the internet to get some ideas). Everyone s body type is different and what works for you may not work for someone else and vice versa. Have fun (play some music while you exercise), make sure to eat right, and be consistent. I pray the best for you.P.S. I lost over 20 pounds and the main things that helped me were eating right and good cardio. My strength training consisted of light weights with 12-to-15 reps per set. Consistency to all of the above is the real key. You will hear all sorts of ideas, workout varieties, etc., but remember that whatever you do, you need to be consistent to get the results that you desire. 1 love in Christ. Weights first then the cardio. You want to get as much oxygen into your mucles to train them to burn fat. During your weights your heart rate should be up the entire time with about 15 reps per station using lighter weights. Then finish with cardio. My trainer is Jay Williams, she is a PHD and has a book out called 24 hour turnaround Check it out...it helps with every aspect to achieving your healthiest goals in life!

I don t think it matters

If you are losing weight do cardio first and then do weights. I had a personal trainer and lost 86lbs and I always did cardio first and then worked out with him. It worked!

Always do cardio first. But, make sure you vary your pace...so that your heart beats rate go up and down...so this way u will burn more calories fast.

You will be better off doing your resistence training first, so that you are fresh and have the energy to knock out an effective workout. Keep your weights session to about 30mins. You can then follow this with 30-60 mins of cardio. Remember to warm up before weight session with 5 min of light cardio, and to have a good 5-10 min stretch after workout. For your non-weights days, aim for at least 45 mins of cardio.As long as you keep your motivation up and maintain a healthy well balanced diet, you should see some awesome results.

cardio first becuase it burns more fat than weight and also muscle weighs more than fat and good luck!

10 Day Hoodia Diet? -

I am by no means asking for a miricale weight loss program. These pills have been sitting in my cabinet for quite some time... my sister bought them, but then later realized she couldnt take them because of some of the medication she was on... but anyways... I have opened that and looked at it every day... and I was just wondering are those safe for your body? Do they work? Ok, hoodia used to be used by africans if they were going on a hunt, they will grind the plant and eat it, I does curb your appetite.I used it , and it works, but I couldnt sleep, I was anxious all the time. (I suppose like on speed ) I dont know the quality of them, but if it says 3 or 4 pills per serving you know you should only take one.Drink lots of watter.

Weight loss Plan??? -

Okay, I am 15, 16 in sept and 5 4 weigh 145-150 (it fluctuates) anyway, i think im a little too pudgy so i am going to try and lose 20-30 lbs. my mom got one of those bender ball thingys and i plan on using it 3-4 times a week and jogging 20-30 min on my treadmill the days i dont use it. I am also starting a 1200-1400 calorie diet with lots of fruits and veggies and limited amounts of meat, which isnt that unusual for me, bcuz i just dont like meat that much. any way, to the question does this sound like it will be an effective and healthy weight loss plan, also how long do you think it will take to reach my goal it if follow this plan??? thanks for your help

hi,, i am 13 too and i was all like,, i wanna lose weight and stuff but then i realised that i am fine the way i am,, if you want to get fitter then try not to eat as much takeout or candy and chocolate,, go for a 2-4km fun every second day and you will feel so mucch healthier within 2 weeks,, the making money thing,, i have the same prob lol

You can just run and go to a gym ... and to make money like see if any one needs help doing chores around their houses and maybe try and do it for less then if they have someone else doing it. also see if you can like maybe check around the fast food places.

Cut out, or at least cut way down on salt, sugar, fats and oils. Drinks lots of water and eat several small meals a day to keep your metabolism up, rather than three large meals.

Okay, this is modified from a lot of junk and salt and crap, so im pleased with the changes regardless. But Im curious what other people think (im aiming for healthy weight loss, slow and not massive amounts quickly, so theres no point in telling me to eat a lot less, not gonna happen!) 4I won t tell you what to and what not to remove from your list, but just my opinion, I would push some of your dinner /lunch/ evening down to the breakfast list. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.I don t get what the difference is between dinner and evening is though. If you have dinner, earliest by 5pm and evening by 8pm-10pm, you re body will still be digesting those lean (but still fatty) pork chops. The you ll be going to bed with that Philadelphia and that can t be good. Just throw one slice of that wholemeal toast (no butter) with Philadelphia (full fat) for breakfast, I think that would be a little better;-) Just my two cents. Take it from me hun, I m dieting too!!!

For a start...you are eating way too much food in the evening.Try to eat the bulk of your food in the morning, to give you the energy to last the day. Cut out chocolate and replace with some fruit and have a substantial breakfast.I would rate it 6.5.

I think that you should have a bigger breakfast. Only an apple in the morning isnt going to give the energy you need to go through the day. Only an apple will encourage snacking. Maybe try kellogs special k with berries, its very nice, and filling! Then you wont have to have a snack, but carry one just in case, to stop your stomach growling! Lunch is great, maybe takeway the kit kat and replace with fruit(Try to vary it!), and have a bottle of water, instead of coffie or tea (they stain, and can cause acid erosion on your teeth). In dinner add more vegatables. You need vitamins and minerals in your diet. I have my dinner at 7 or 8 o clock, then you wouldnt have to have that evening snack. But then you will have to have a snack between lunch and dinner, just the toast with philadelphia will do, and if your going to have coke, at least have full fat, coke is a treat really. Maybe submit it for pinnaple juice. Pinnaple juice gives you feel good hormones in your brain. Try to only drink when your going out with your friends, and then limit it, one of you needs to stay sober to pay the taxi fare!

7. you eat wayyyy too many sweets in one day tho, thats where you go wrong!!!get rid of the alcohol and diet coke, drink more WATER! and try to only have one sweet a day. and try to to gradually take sweets out of your daily intake, and maybe have a sweet once a week have one cheat day.

Better than the average american. Still a bit of sugar though. You need alot more vegetables and fruits. And just so you know, your doing a good job, but you should eat more in the mornings and less in the evening and drink 3 32oz cups of water per day. Ice water burns 300 more calories than room temp water.

vodka and cola ?!? yuk. sounds like you need some jack and steak. to go with that cola. but seriously, sounds like something you should not eat everyday (or want to). but it does sound somewhat healthy, just throw in some leafy greens, or toss a salad.

You are on the right track, but I don t think you truely understand what all you are putting into your body. you have to understand the mechanics of weight loss first, and then relate that to how your food will help or hinder your goals.Weight loss is as easy as Calories in versus Calories out.You have to burn 3100 calories to equal one pound! So for a 5 5 women who is 140 pounds, has an seditary lifestyle (When not working out, she is sitting at school or work, doesn t really do much physical labor in her daily life), her body burns 1200 calories just being alive! So she must eat 1200 calories to properly fuel her body for living. If she does no more physical activity, then she will gain weight if she eats over her 1200 calories. So I eat 200 calories 15-30 mins before my workout (so that I don t shock out, or get sick feeling. Since my calorie intake is so low, I need to fuel myself right before my workout to help me get through my workout without feeling bad.) That way, I am netting 500 calories burned a day. (1220burned + 1220 consumed - 700burned +200 consumed = 500 net burned)I do this 6-7 days a week, and I m loosing about a pound a week. In the last 20 weeks I ve lost 15 pounds. (The first five weeks my body didn t loose any real weight, but I was also not regulating my calorie intake before my workouts..... so my body was fighting to keep the weight. 2. There are more nutritious methods that would allow you to lose the same or more amount of weight and in fact eat more. Eat less in the evening and more in the morning. When you sleep, the evening carbs are stored. In the morning, you have time to burn the carbs throughout the day.
