Is this a healthy weight loss time line? -

right now i weigh 198, and iv just started exercising and eating better. im taking it slow, but i have lost about a pound a day for the last few days. im pretty sure thats just cuz i have SO much to lose that my body is ready to get rid of it quickly right now. my goal is to get to the 140 s, but by the end of the summer i want to be 160. (my summer ends at the end of august) is that a realistic goal? 40 pounds in 3 and a half months? that would be almost 10 pounds a month, and i expect to lose faster right now just cuz i am so overweight.

Spring break is coming up in March, and I ll be in Hawaii on vacation. I d really like to slim down and tone a bit for bikini season, and I was wondering if 10 pounds in a healthy weight loss goal that can be achieved in 2 months?

That can be accomplished very easily. Just don t eat junk food, stay away from fast food, drink a lot of water, and work out at least 4 days out of the week. I d suggest at least an hour of running, cycling, swimming or just something to get your heart pumping.

Its sad that this is the point our society has reached.That people seem to think ANY weight loss is unhealthy.You could do it healthily in ONE month.

How healthy is to eat quot;protein onlyquot; dinner? -

Im 25 y-o guy. Ive always been slim, but ive gained some weight. I jog and run sometimes and feel good, but i want to have a healthy lifestyle. So I started using a really nice software called crosstrainer to manage my eating and work outs. After over a month of use, the software shows Ive been eating too much carbs (good percentage of sugar too) and to little protein. That s maybe cause I usually eat high carb breakfast and dinners (bread, pancakes with syrup, pizzas, sandwiches...) and eat protein for lunch (steak, pork, meatballs, ...).I thought about changing only my dinner eliminating (or reducing) carbs. Ive been doing it for 4 days now and feel ok. I don t do this as a weight loss program, but mostly as an experiment for healthier eating.What do you think?? Is this healthy(er) as a long term or permanent diet ?PS: Ive been researching and found out there s a diet called carbs curfew , that s very similar to what i have planned.

Meals that are rich in proteins is fine. You can t eat protein only , unless it s an amino acid pill. And a pill, or course, isn t a meal. Foods high in proteins also contain fats. Protein without fats is...well.. worthless. Proteins use fatty acids for energy. So one without the other isn t beneficialKeep in mind: Your body uses carbs and fats for muscle movement. proteins are only used for cell growth (muscle, skin, hair, etc) but not movement.Regardless of what name your call your diet: If your an athlete, a diet that is 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fats will do you well. If your not an athlete, but are active and want to be more lean, then a diet around a 40:30:30 area should be considered.The avg. american diet is 20:60:20. The processed food industry can be blamed for this. (in my opinion). Oh yea: Fruits and veggies ARE carbs.

My son 19 tried this diet for some months for his gym routine, and said he felt occassional depression and severe cravings. I suggested he end it, or at least add 10-20% carbs (he was only having protein such as chicken, tuna, jerky, and dressing it with salad)Overall I think it would be much better to have a balance between fat, carbs and proteins, and not leaving out any of them altogether!

No, it s not healthy to eat protein only dinner, but it is fine ot cut out the carbs. You needs to get some fiber with that protein. Add some raw or steamed vegetables with that like broccoli or carrots.

What do you think of my workout if I want to lose a couple lbs. by June 2008? -

Well, I got a gym membership and this is what I usually do. I usually go on my lunch hour, so that gives me around 45 minutes a day for 5 days a week to work out. As soon as I get there I get on the treadmill and I do a weight loss program that it has for 15 minues on a level 4 which the most is 5.5 mph. Then after that, they have this circus of machines in hydraulix!?!? well there are 9 different machines to work on a different muscles of your body. I do this circus 3 times, and that usually takes up my 45 minutes. How do you think would help me to lose weight? And also, I m eating no more than 1300 calories a day. I ve never been to a Gym before, because I thought that if I did, I would get buff and look all big with men s arms, is that going to happen if I keep doing what I m doing? I want to lose maybe about 15 lbs. is that logic? My goal is June 21st. So that means I have 9 weeks, which gives me like 1.5 lbs. per week right?Please help! Thanks!

Today I went to the gym and I ran for an average 7 mph for 30 minutes. I have a healthy weight loss diet that includes fruits,veggies, fish,chicken,turkey, skim milk and other things.After I was done running,the treadmill said i expended a total 550 calories in the 30 minutes.I dont know if i really burnt 550 calories or more or less.I NEED HELP PLZ!!!!!The best answer gets 10 pts.
