Survey: Why do you feel that you should or need to lose weight? -

Can you please include in the question:age?Location?Sex?body weight?high?Do you feel good about your body weight?why? Are you willing to be part of a weight loss program?why?Have you or would you pay to loss weight?why? Thanks everyone for you answers

age 16UKFemaleAbout 165 lbs5 10 No i do not feel good about my body weight. Why? because I used to be super skinny, people said I had a model figure and I could wear whatever clothes I wanted and it would look good. However over the years I have slowly watched my weight increase, and now I do not have as much confidence in myself, I would rather stay inside alone rather than go out and have fun with friends and I used to be really fashion conscious, people copied my style and clothes all the time (not boasting here, just saying how it was) and now I have put weight on, I feel fashion has took a backseat in my life, and now I just wear whatever makes me look slimmer. In conclusion I absolutely do not feel good about myself.A weight loss programme such as...? I don t understand what you mean.No I would not pay to lose weight, because the obvious and best way to lose weight it just eat healthy and exercise. I need willpower to do that, not a weekly meeting and a hole in my pocket.and I agree with everything jbob said.

im a 15 year old girl from the UK. I am 5 foot 3 and weight 90 pounds. I don t feel good about my body weight, i ve just recovered from anorexia, and i m finding it hard to get over the thoughts that came with that. I m a bit of a perfectionist so I want everything to be perfect, including my body. However, i wouldn t be willing to take part in a weight loss programme of pay to lose weight as I prefer to do things my own way and I want to choose my diet for myself.

age? - 33Location? - UKSex? - Fbody weight? - 10st 7lbhigh? - 5 5 Do you feel good about your body weight?why? - At the moment, yes.Are you willing to be part of a weight loss program?why? - Yes, because it s the only way I can do it!Have you or would you pay to loss weight?why? - Yes, because it gives me the incentive - it s not good value for money if I don t actually succeed. The reason why I want to lose weight is because my jeans were too tight, and I didn t want to have to buy a bigger size. Also, there was this unsightly roll of flab over the top of them. I ve been to a weight loss group for the last 5 months, and have lost over a stone. I m nearly at my goal.

The formula for losing weight is not difficult - consume less food and move more often - the issues surface when we actually try to put that into operation! There are lots of stumbling blocks in the real world aren t there?! I found some excellent advice by following the website in the box below, they have lots of tips, I melted away 8 pounds by following their techniques.

What are some good weight loss tips? -

I need some weight loss tips!In two weeks i need to lose about 5 pounds for wrestlingi need some tips and some good things to eat and do!thank you

For wrestling I would run alot, eat grilled chicken and vegetables all the time, eat every 2-3 hours. Remember your goal is to burn off more than you are taking in, so you will lose weight. Eat everything steamed, and less amounts of food, but more frequently.Dan

Step1Don t ever skip breakfast! This should be the largest meal of your day. You should front-load your calories and then taper off the rest of the day, eating less later in the day.Step2Next, eat five to six smaller meals the rest of the day. This will keep your metabolism revved up! and you won t get hungry.Step3Strive to eat more than 25 grams of fiber per day. Fiber rich foods are very important when it comes to weight management. Fiber rich foods make you feel fuller and you will be eating less.Step4Order your pizza with double tomatoe sauce and light cheese. Tomato sauce is high in lycopene which is a strong anti-oxidant and by ordering light cheese you will save about twenty grams of fat per pie, or as much fat as a McDonald s quarter pounder. You wont even miss that extra cheese!

The following are 5 unconventional weight loss tips that worked for me.Between January 4, 2007 and March 31, 2007 I lost fifty pounds. These tips work well because almost every tip is focused around completing a small goal. Here are 5 unconventional weight loss tips:Weigh yourself everydayYoull find that almost every other dieter will tell you to weigh yourself only once a week. I recommend the exact opposite. I am very goal oriented and I like to see results everyday. The reason I recommend buying a scale that is accurate to the .2 is that there is a very big difference between weighting 170.8 one day and 170.0 the next day. Losing .8 pounds in one day is excellent. However, if your scale is not accurate enough to report the loss and still shows 170 after a day of healthy eating and working out, you will feel extremely discouraged. A more detailed scale makes it easier to keep a positive outlook. The more successes (days with positive weight loss) the easier it is.Drink 8 glasses of water everydayThis one is obvious and broadly recommended, however, the reason I recommend it is slightly different. Drinking eight glasses of water per day helps you feel less hungry. I cant prove this scientifically, however, when I am at work, I drink 4 cups in the morning and 4 cups in the evening. On the days that I dont drink the water, I feel hungrier, earlier. Also, on the days I dont drink water I feel sleepier, sooner. Dont feel intimidated by trying to drink 8 glasses of water. Try doing what I do: I have a pint glass I keep at work, it holds sixteen ounces (as all pint glasses do). All I do is drink two pints of water in the morning and two in the afternoon.Make your diet publicTell people youre on a diet. Theres no reason to be ashamed to be on a diet. I found that trying to keep my diet a secret was harder than just telling people. In fact, telling your coworkers, girlfriend, family, etc. will increase your accountability. It motivated me knowing that my coworkers and family knew that I was dieting because I did not want to fail. I also chose a typical fat picture and put it on my fridge, in my cubicle, and on my wall. I wanted to have a continual reminder to lose the weight. I know its a cliche, but it was important for me to remind myself of my ultimate goal.I feel I should also note that although I was 50 pounds over weight, when I told people I was on a diet they often said you dont need to diet. I found this surprising because I was obviously overweight. Beware that you will likely hear similar comments. I found it easier to just accept the compliment than to try to justify my diet to them. Remember that you are on a diet for you, and that you do not need to justify yourself.Dont diet on the weekendsThis is another unconventional bit of advice. I was able to lose 50 pounds without dieting on the weekends. I found myself tired, depressed, and unmotivated if I tried to continue my diet into the weekend. I felt that Friday and Saturday (my weekend) was a time to celebrate 5 days of dieting. You may not find this necessary, especially in the first few weeks of a diet. However, as many weeks passed, the weekend became a time for me to celebrate my weekly successes and get myself mentally prepared for another five days of dieting. I considered it a mental recharge.Dont sacrifice your life for your dietOn occasion, you will find yourself unable to eat healthy. Whether this is because of lunches with your team at work, birthdays, or special occasions, there will be events that you just cant (or dont want to) eat healthy. A diet will feel overwhelming if you have to sacrifice special events in your life. The way I combated this was to exchange a day that I was not going to diet on the weekend. In other words, if I didnt diet on Tuesday, for example, I would diet on Saturday, instead.

Well I read in a bunch of different magazines that you should eat between 4-6 small meals that consist of stuff like fruits vegetables grains and all that stuff and try to limit fats and oils and like all the food pyramid stuff and so like when you wake up you could like have eggs toast juice or something and then something else at 10 but like they re supposed to be small meals so yeah. Oh, and also you should never skip breakfast and never go to bed unless it s been less than three hours since you last ate otherwise you ll wake up hungrier and you might not sleep as good.

Help! I am obese and NEED to lose the weight. What CAN I do? -

I am 27 and about 70 lbs overweight, Growing up, I was always into extracurricular activities and sports (dance, cheer, soccer...) In college, my Dr. recommended that I stop taking dance classes because I had bad knees, so I did. Over the next few years, I have tried several methods thinking they would help a little or a lot if I had combined some of them. I stopped drinking soda for 4 months, I was an active member at a local gym for THREE years going anywhere from 3-6 days/week (didn t lose weight and I had a PERSONAL TRAINER for a several months too), I had a nutritionist, I tried curves, Slimfast, Hydroxy-cut, Ballerina Green Tea, Michael Thurmond s 6 Week Body Makeover Weight Loss Program, Weight Watchers, I cut out carbs, I was in Jazzercise....nothing seemed to work :( I can understand if I laid on the couch all day and stuffed my face, but that just ISN T the case. I am far from lazy and do not eat as horrible as some people. I have been tested for Thyroid disease, twice and by two different Dr. s...it s not that either.I have ALWAYS been a determined individual with anything, including weight loss, but I have just given up hope, and given up on myself. People say I am attractive, but what they really mean is, just my face. I always hide my body from even my own husband, we don t even shower together.. I want to, but I feel SO UNCOMFORTABLE. He s so adorable and has a sexy body, but I just feel so ugly sometimes.Sorry if this is so dragged out, Please, if anyone can help me, I would appreciate it.Ps. I realize it s not magic and will not happen overnight. I just want to be healthy, happy and live a long life.HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

The best and most effective way to lose weight is to simply eat good foods and count your calories. You can have a piece of cake sometimes, but you must consider how many calories it is and sacrifice elsewhere. You can eat what you want just don t eat more than you allot yourself in a day (I would recommend starting off with 1200 calories a day) Diets don t work. Once you re off the diet, the weight comes back. Counting calories does work because you re not on a diet and you still can have a cookie or whatever, you just do the math. The other thing that will help you ward off hunger is to drink a big glass of water before each meal. You really should be drinking water all day long, but add an extra glass before meals or when you re hungry. If you do this, you WILL lose weight and you will be successful at keeping it off. I can tell that this is important to you, so I m confident that you ll do it : )

Hi there,Having nothing to go on other than what you have written, I think it would be worth getting your doc to do a full physical, and include the bloods for your hormones and for insulin levels.Second, a nutritionist can be anyone whereas a registered dietitian can give you advice based on sound scientific evidence - and may be because you have tried so many different routes you have got into habits that are not helping, which some sound advice could sort.Thirdly, your hub loves you because of you - and you need to accept that and like yourself regardless of your size to have the best chance of succeeding in weight loss. Most obese people who have self loathing punish themselves with food...
