How to lose weight and not gain muscle? -

I m 5 3 or so and 135 ib. I m not exactly fat, but more curvy. The problem is that whenever I eat healthy and exercise to lose weight, I just gain muscle and because of that, gain weight. What are some thing I can to do keep my weight down without exercising for like hours a day?

i think im eating my feelings. seriously, not cool!i recently broke up w/ my boyfriend and i ve been really upset ever since.. i ve realized everytime i start thinking about him i eat even if im not hungry. :/i want to loose @ least 20 pounds. i have a pooch and i seriously don t like it!if i do crunches, jumping jacks, and leg lifts everyday, will i loose weight? or just get toned up? how many calories will i burn if i do it for like an hour?any more weight loss tips?

Losing weight is all about the diet you could exercise for an hour a day but if your diet is bad you wont lose a thing. try eating 5-6 smaller meals (cutting back on the carbs) and if you want a snack, eat something healthy... example :breakfast : porridgemid morning : apple/fruitdinner : small chicken saladmid afternoon : left over dinnertea : fish and vegdont gorge on chocolate/sweets/bread/cheese ect in fact dont eat any...Use the fact that your free and single as a reason to reach your goals not because of an ex...there loss not urs...when you have your diet sorted out join a gym... tell the staff/pt`s who work there your goals and they will write you a program, usually free...you should lose between 1-3 lb per week so set a date and try and meet your target..hope this helps good luck....

it doesnt sound pathetic... some people eat because they re sad all the time and don t even realize it...if you want to lose weight...i heard that if you do 50 crunches in the morning and at night...everyday...you will lose weight...and if you re still sad..and you re gonna eat something...maybe you should try a granola bar or fruit...something that s not high in calories

if you re really interested in losing weight, cardio is the way to go. running i mean. if you so all that other stuff, all will get is tone and maybe like 5 pounds in weight loss. cardio will help you lose weight and tone up.eating healthier and only when hungry would really help too

When you get the urge to eat when your not hungry eat something fruit not junk food.

Talking to a counselor might help you get over the urge to eat when you get sad about him. Belly dancing is a great way to lose weight, get in shape, and gain confidence because you will be super sexy! See if there are classes in your area. Kickboxing is another good one. When you feel like just eating, have vegetables. You can pretty much eat all you want, just don t use dressing or use VERY LITTLE. Make sure you get a lot of protein. Take your weight in pounds, divide it by 2, and that is how many grams of protein you are recommended to get per day. It s hard! See if you can even get half that much. Drink green tea--no sugar, you can use a little honey if you need to but eventually you will acquire a taste and be able to drink it straight. It speeds up your metabolism and has a lot of L-Theanine in it, which makes you feel relaxed and good. Taking a B-vitamin can also improve your mood and speed up your metabolism. I have been struggling with my weight for over a year, and I keep going up and down. Diet pills do not work, diet drinks (the kind that guarantee faster metabolism) do not work, and diets in general do not. I am vegan, which may complicate things (you can t get much healthier), but I do not exercise as much as I should. I m basically looking for some tips, or exercise programs that have worked for you. Well, first of all as a fellow vegan you want to make sure you re not just carb loading. Eat raw nuts, beans, veggies like spinach, mushrooms, onions, carrots, root vegetables. Eat brown rice rather then white rich, whole wheat grains, etc.However, I want to make sure to point out, weight fluctuation is normal. Humans simply fluctuate naturally within their weight from three to five pounds to as much as ten pounds sometimes. Also, you might be constantly shifting to a certain weight because that is your natural healthy body weight. Now, set your two rest days for the week. Put big red X s in those days for the whole calender. Now, whenever you exercise for the day, give yourself a big red X. Humans are funny creatures, and simple little motivation tricks can sometimes really help us. Once you start building up a chain of those red X s, you won t want to stop. what i think is exercise it takes and average person 21 days to break a habbit so exercise everyday and in 21 days it will be normal to you also i think being a pescitarian because you dont eat meat but you can eat fish and fish is good =]=]=]=]

diets dont work. if they do they fck up ur body. nobody should ever do them (like diet programs)you could try-eating only brunch-excercise every morning(like less than 30 but more than 5 min)-dont be lazy-drive less, bike/walk more..iunochange in diet? (not meat, but different variety of veggies)

being a vegan is not that healthy. If you also need to lose weight that is alarming, since that type of diet is already like poison.

I have the same body shape, and the same problem. Everyone so far has told me that you can t spot reduce, and to just up my cardio either in intensity or length. I m going to star your question though, hopefully someone has some good advice for you (us! lol)

Contrary to popular belief, you can t target weight loss. If you eat right, and exercise enough you will eventually lose weight from your lower body. You could also try exercising your legs more to add definition and make them appear to have gone down in size.

How to lose weight fast in a week or two??!?!!? -

omg its so hard not to eat but im trying to slow my meals down and not eat as bad and as much. i exercise almost every day doing sports and everything but is there anything i can do? I really want to lose about 8 pounds but its so hard because when im hungry my stomach takes over my mind and i usually dont stop it and i eat :D but i dont want to... so is there any tips or anything ? tyyy

Drink a lot of water. When you get that craving drink down some water and that will fill up your stomach for the time being. When you eat don t eat until you are full, that is what is hard for me but it works, then drink water and you will be fine. Eat small meals around 6 times a day. Good luck

just know that you CAN eat. just dont eat a lot of anything. salads are rly good, water ofcourse, its like no calories. people drink over like 500 calories a day, water is 0 calories, so thats already like, 500 calories out of your system, which adds up quickly, ya know...lolthe rubber band thing works, but for lunch if ur still in like school, i thinhk ur...just pack your own lunch. you should try peaches, they r rly sweet but still rly good. fruit is rly good for you to, and dont feel guilty if you eat a donut, or a bagel, or stuff, as long as you dont overdo it. excercising is great too

Wear and elastic band on your wrist, every time you feel hungry snap it. Your mind will associate snacking with hunger quite quickly. The healthier option would be to have a minute snack when you feel hungry. If you feel hungry within an hour, ping the elastic band.

When you feel hungry, you probably are hungry. Don t starve yourself, because you ll become weak. Eat good snacks/meals, and not junk food. Fruits and veggies are good snacks.

I am 14 and 200 lbs. I know I am in despreate need of some weight loss, but diets just seem so hard to stick to with school. I have so much homework and other things for the clubs I m in and I have almost no time to exercise. Any good ideas? And please don t just say something mean... I m self-conscious enough as it is!

Sweetie, I feel your pain. I am old enough to be your mom now but I was a heavy child growing up. My mother I joined Weight Watchers the summer before I started 9th grade and I lost all my weight. After the weight came off I was so active all throughout school with roller skating (yes, I know I m dating myself here), dancing, walking the mall, etc. that I didn t focus on food and I easily kept the weight off. I focused on fun and sharing good times with my friends. After school when I went to work sitting at a desk full-time I wasn t as active slowly started gaining again. It has been a lifetime struggle for me so I know a few tips to help you. First of all, most schools now offer healthy choices in the lunch line. If they don t, bring something from home. A simple sandwich - turkey, light mayo, a little mustard, lettuce, tomato, low-fat cheese on wheat bread and a piece of fruit is simple, fast and very filling. When you get home you can have Lean Cuisine, Healthy Choice, or Weight Watcher meals for dinner. They are really good easy to make. If you are like I was and hurrying out the door in the mornings to make it to school on time (I hardly ever did but that was back in the big hair days) just grab a slim-fast bar or shake. I know this sounds hard but if you make your mind up to do it you will do it. Weight loss is 90% mental and 10% physical. Just make one small change. Start very small. When you make the change it will encourage you to keep going. When you start feeling good about yourself you ll probably find time to start walking because you ll have more energy. I know you can find 10 minutes. I have 3 kids and I can do 10 minutes! Build from there. Try to see it as a change of lifestyle rather than a diet. A diet is something you go on or get off of. A lifestyle is a choice. It s a change. Make that change NOW! You have your whole high school years to look forward to. Don t dread them. Enjoy them. It s all up to you! Get into an after school activity, or ask your parents to get a basketball hoop. Substitute sports or activities for sitting on the couch really helps.
