What are some good weight loss tips for a 16 year old? -

I am 16, play sports 6 days a week, all year long, do crunches, eat healthy, yet I have a stomach. I will never retreat to dietary supplements or anorexia/bulimia, so do any of you have tips on how to get rid of my belly fat..

All the s h i t you are doing works. Your method takes time (4+ years). Depending on your geographical location, it could take longer or shorter to get rid of your stomach fat. If you live in a hot location, you will burn it off faster than in the cold. Running is what I am talking about. Run about 12 miles per week for 4 weeks and your problem will be solved.

Best ab workout isn t a crunch, sit on a work out ball and do crunches on that, then do diagonal crunches. Also, when doing cardio workouts, do speed intervals, jog for 2 minutes, sprint for 1, jog for 2, sprint for 1 and so on... the transition makes it so your heart cant get used to going at the same pace. Also, eat healthy, but make sure you eat every 4 hours, if you go longer than 4 hours without eating, your body thinks that you are starving and holds on to every ounce of fat it can hold on to just in case you have to go a really long time without eating..

Hi There,This is a very common thing to happen for any 16 year old, male or female. Because you are only 16 your body is still growing and different bodies grow at different rates. So what is happening to you is that your body is keeping food stored in your stomach and then using it later as a source of energy to help your growth. Give it sometime your body will develop and you will see that stomach disappearing.I know you have a very busy week with sports 6 days a week but maybe even try go for extra runs. Drink a lot of water too!Hope that helped

You re 16, and very active. You eat well, and have no intentions of poor dietary behaviors. You sound like you are FINE! It will take care of itself.

Do tons of sit-ups, and maybe walk or jog sometimes, but not too much or it give you big muscles. Try not to eat fat foods.

Nothing wrong with supplements. Reduced calorie diet and more exercise to get cut.

Weight loss info about health benefits? -

Im thinking about starting a weight loss program with my family. Mostly, because some members of my family live unhealthy lifestyles and as a nursing major I know that they are at risk for health programs in the future if they dont start living healthy. I want to teach them to change their lifestyles by learning to eat healthier and exercise more. Im thinking a 3 month time span would work best and plan on giving a 1st and 2nd place prize (a shopping spree of $250 and a spa package.) I want to make packets of information regarding diseases that are related to being overweight such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, high blood pressure, etc. Does anyone know of great sites where i could find info regarding those and also what do you think of the incentives. I plan on getting about 10+ family members to participate and plan on having a dinner at the end of the program. Please help with any ideas or suggestions that you have. Thanks!!

Hey, I salute you for that for taking the first move. That s great! Actually, I was once had those problems with health when I was once a 169lbs. But good thing I met a low-calorie diet that helped me shed off 25lbs in just 10 weeks without even going to the gym or doing some exercise coz I am busy with work. What s more, if you ll really want it to be more exciting, please drop me an email. I d love to help you attain success in that plan program. Go for it!

Wow, and exercise program.

Great idea! You ll be sort of an evangelist for healthy living for your family, and I m sure they ll get the message. Hope you have a good conversion rate. Really great idea. Love the prize concept. Ought to at least get their attention. My wife, bless her heart, is also a nurse. She started trying to convert us 30 years ago with the message of sugar free and whole wheat. Largely been an exercise in futility where our kids are concerned, but at least they know. Takes patience and tolerance.Good luck.

What are the foods that help? -

what are the special foods that the weight loss programs keep banging on about but just wont tell you?

the special foods they keep banging on about are in the fresh fruit and vegie section at the grocery store ....... they don t come in pretty boxes or bags with shiny writing on them ..... they don t have loads of highly processed chemically refined nutritionally void good for nothing useless highly addictive wallet emptying weight loss hampering man made sugar in them to preserve them and prolong shelf life ........ they re just sitting on the shelves in as close to their fresh natural condition........ as mother nature intended ....... fresh fruits and fresh green and salad vegies.... go easy on the fruits cos it s still sugar ... so go for low sugar fruits like watermelon and pears... and go heavy on the green and salad vegies........ rich in living enzymes that every single cell in your body needs to be vital and flourish.ditch the sugary processed and man made junk and eat more green plant food.peace baby?

you re welcome and thanks for BA.peace Report Abuse

Minx is correct, there is very little food you need outside the produce section for weight loss. Pick your favorites ( like bananas, potatoes, oranges, tomatoes ) and overdose on them, they do not contain synthetic chemicals which encourage weight gain, so you do not have to be too cautious when eating them. Citrus, pineapples, beans, oatmeal, pasta are especially worthwhile ( the talk about pasta on its own making people fat is baloney ).

If you know correct diet info and program, diet is easy. If you are very serious, you must have easy diet program that works for you. I recommend you my diet program for you. I lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks and it was very easy. You can do it too. You can get more info at link below.

On a healthy weight loss plan, how long does it take to see results? -

I am eating 1200 calories per day, and then doing 2 hours of cardio to burn at least 500 calories. how many weeks should it take before I can SEE results (not on the scale, but on my body?)

In two or three months, youll see the results when your clothes are too big and baggy! Each pound of fat reserves is 3,500 calories. You would lose one pound of fat reserves every week. But then you would (hopefully) gain some muscle mass. You need to do some weight training, not just cardios.Cardios would just burn some fat reserves but weight training would really built muscle mass for a higher metabolism.Muscle mass takes 3 times less space than fat reserves, so you get thinner. After about three months, you would have lost a few pounds of fat reserves (aerobics) and gained a few pounds of muscle mass (weight training) so you could be the same weight but at least one size smaller (like one inch off all your measurements). I actually did that, a few years ago. I went from 122.6 to 122.6 (haha) in three months with about 18 weight training sessions and some aerobics, no diet or counting my calories intake, I ate whatever I wanted (otherwise I would have lost much more) and still lost one inch on all my measurements, got thinner and lost 2% of my body fat percentage.

Okay first of all don t choose 1200 calories as some arbitrary number. Your caloric intaking should ALWAYS be tailored to you specifically. There s a metabolism calculator I m attaching below. Second, stop doing so much cardio. It s boring, pretty inefficient, and you risk losing muscle instead of fat. Lift weights for God s sake. And no, you won t turn into the she-hulk. Unless you take anabolic steroids and inject HGH, you never have to worry about getting big as a girl.As for seeing results it depends on how close an observer you are and how frequently you check yourself in the mirror. After a month you should start to notice the rolls on your stomach are smaller though. If you pose in front of the mirror every day, you will not notice as much progress. But only look in the mirror once a week and things will seem much faster.

What you are doing is very bad right now. It will probably take a long time to see results. You need to eat more, you are burning muscle instead of fat which is the opposite of what you want to do. Doing this will cause your body to lose pounds, but not any inches so you will look the same. Eat more and you will notice it in the 2nd month

Everyone sees results at different times. My suggestion would be Measure weigh yourself weekly. When Measuring yourself - Measure in the same spot every time. Weigh at the same day timeWomen usually lose more inches before they lose weight. Men on the other hand lose weight then they lose inches

You can lose weight rapidly by using the special formula acai berry that Oprah and Rachel Ray used. I lost 47 pounds in 3 months! Check out my blogwww.my-weight-secrets.us

6 weeks or evry time you lose 5-10 lbs

Will Protein bars, shakes, etc. make me gain weight?? -

I ve been on a weight loss program for the past 3 1/2 years now, and I ve lost between 55-70 lbs. with a healthy diet, caloric counting and reduction, and cardio/ weight training.I ve heard that consuming protein right after a workout, it ll make your muscles grow. Will it also make me gain weight, I started at 385lbs went down to 315lbs., went up to 358lbs (due to a work shift change) and now I m back at 325lbs. I still have 75 lbs to go, but will also fill in some of the loose skin with muscle, will protein help, or should I avoid it??

eating foods high in protein help .. because it burns calories when your body consumes the food... like fish and cottage cheese..... high protein foods good.. ....protein shakes.. gain weight....bad.. eat lean meat .. good... and yes eating after workout is good

Yes it will, and also kill you faster than you think.
