How to lose weight on your thighs? -

I ve been losing weight on my upper body but can t seem to lose much on my thighs. Now my body just looks disproportionate. I ve tried skipping and jogging but doesn t seem to work. In fact, my inner thighs itch every time I jog cause they start rubbing against each other! What do I do??

When you lose fat, from burning excess calories, you lose fat from everywhere, not just in one place. The muscles in your arms do not use up only the fat cells in your arms, that is not how is works. If your thighs are not slimming, is it because you have increased muscle tone and size from exercise?

well you cant target weight loss because its all genetics sorry i have the same problem too. but if you want to have more defined legs, do the abducter and adducter machine for upper inner thighs and outer. then do the elliptical machine or squats and lunges for nice glutes, hamstrings, and quads

You can t target where you lose weight. The best thing to do would just be to tone your legs. The muscle will burn the fat. Toning will make them smaller because you aren t working to hard. Just do squats.

Homeopathic Treatment for Excessive Fat and Weight :-PHYTOLACCA BERRY s Mother Tincture is perhaps the safest and sure fire way of loosing excessive fat around abdomen. With Phytolacca Berry once you loose the excessive fat and weight you don t get it back because you body takes care of itself after that and keeps you from gathering up excessive fat. It is prescribed after having a baby too, to get the tummy to loose its flab and to make it flatter and tighter. And after loosing weight with this you don t get flabby it tightens up the flab and skin along with helping your body to shed the excessive accumulation of fat around the girthThe dosage is 15 to 20 drops of the tincture in half a cup of hot water thrice a day half hour before or after meals.Avoid Chocolates, Coffee, Mints, Red Meat and Carbonated and Alcoholic drinks while taking Homeopathic Medicines. You have to take it for at least 30 to 45 days after that you start to feel the results. To the best of my knowledge its the safest and the most sure fire way of loosing fat and weight and keeping it of for keeps. Excellent remedy for Obese people who cant seem to shed weight despite trying.Homeopathic Remedies can be found at all Major Herbal Stores or could be bought on line, In most of the world Homeopathic remedies are quite cheap and easy to find and they do not need a prescription.Take care and God Bless !

First, I m glad you ve written this question because it shows that you ve realized how important your health is. Being overweight is very risky.Calculating your BMR (basal metabolic rate) can help you determine how many calories you ll need to expend or reduce to lose weight. Once you ve determined your BMR, do NOT go below the calories needed for your BMR or your entire body will suffer. The reason knowing your BMR is important (well, one of the reasons), is because it takes an expenditure or restriction of 3500 calories to equal a pound of weight loss.In order to calculate your BMR and for more information on weight loss, you can visit my site at: http://www.betterlifetoday.com and then click on Frequently Asked Questions.By the way, I ve been helping people stay healthy for a more than 20 years and I can tell you that losing weight requires a combination of both exercise and caloric restriction but with a proper nutrition balance. If you want to lose weight in a healthy manner, keep the following in mind:1) Check with your physician to be certain that you are physically able to reduce your calories and increase your exercise habits safely.2) Make certain that the calories you are eating are as balanced as possible. Finding out how much protein, carbs, and fats your body needs on a daily basis can really help keep your energy levels high all day long. The #1 reason my clients tell me that they ve stopped dieting or exercising in the past is because of low energy ebbs. Splitting the amount of calories you can have per day into 5 - 6 smaller meals will help tremendously (this keeps your body fueled and ready to go and you also know that your next meal is only a couple of hours away).Again, knowing what your basal metabolic rate (BMR) is will certainly help you determine how to be calorie conscious. Also remember that you may need supplements to help things along.3) While exercising (before, during, and after) be sure to consume enough water. The key is not to be thirsty (overtly) during this time of exercise.4) Adding weight bearing exercise (i.e., lifting weights) will help to tone your body and the thermogenic (fat burning) effect will last long after you ve stopped working out -- even if your workout is simply walking).5) Remember that you ll probably hit plateaus (times when you ll stop losing weight) several times during your weight loss progress. This is completely normal and is only temporary but it can last for a couple of weeks at a time. It is very important to remember that even if your scale isn t showing progress, your entire body is being positively effected by your efforts.6) Measure different parts of your body (neck, upper arms, lower arms, chest, abs, waist, belly, butt, thighs, etc.) and do it accurately. Write these measurements down and check them once every 2 weeks. This will help you remember that your body is reducing all over -- not just in one particular area. If you re weight training you may actually notice a slight increase in some areas of your body (don t worry -- if you re a woman you won t start looking like a bodybuilder).7) Keep focused on your end goal and concentrate on losing maybe 1 pound a week -- sometimes you ll lose more, sometimes less. As long as it s an average, it s okay.8) Lastly, remember that you re doing a WONDERFUL thing for your body.Keep up the good work. I ve worked with hundreds of people in the past 20 years (mostly women) who have lost (individually) HUNDREDS of pounds safely. Better still, they ve kept it off -- Kay lost over 350 pounds and has been at her goal weight for 7 years now.As for what to take (if anything), that depends entirely on what your body needs. Anyone who suggests that you take something that works for everyone is either confused or deluded. For example, if you had a twin brother or sister your bodies could react completely different to certain supplements or foods on a metabolic level. If you want to learn more about what you might want to take and how to calculate your BMR, you can visit my site (below). If you have any questions, don t hesitate to write and ask.Lonnie Honeycutt, C.N.C.Your Health Is My Concernhttp://www.betterlifetoday.com

1. Always eat breakfast2. Eat several small meals/snacks throughout the day3. Avoid white bread, white rice etc. Eat whole grains only4. Drink lots of water5. Get at least 30 mins of moderate to vigorous exercise a day

dont drink anything but water with at least a drop of lemon juice in it. that alone will make a huge diff. the lemon keeps you from retaining the water, and is very healthy

I have lost around 60 lbs in 6 months and I will tell you what not to eat. The first myth we have been told is that fat is bad. Sugar and carbohydrate are the big nasties. In fact, reduced fat food that has had some of the fat removed is actually more fattening than the regular food because the removed fat in most cases has been replaced with carbs! This is the main reason why you must absolutely stay away from ALL processed food with no exception. Eat fresh and natural. You must have 3 meals a day and get into a routine so your body knows when to expect food. Your body is capable of doing exquisite things to avoid weight loss if it thinks its going to get starved, so you must feed it and regularly. The other thing you must do is keep your insulin as low as possible by getting sugar and carbs in your diet as close to zero as you can and not having ANYTHING between meals except water. Also having at least 5 hours between one meal and another. The last meal of the day must be no later than 9pm. Insulin is a hormone that will absolutely block fat and protein burning in your body and force it to burn sugar, that s how it works. You will NOT lose weight with your blood stream flooded with insulin, even with exercise. Its impossible. You must have at least 8 glasses of water a day, in order for your liver and kidneys to excrete the fat from your body this is crucial. Now, what you must stay away from and I mean, non at all. Bread, pasta, rice, pastry, flour, sugar, potato, onion, parsnip, sweet potato, pumpkin, beetroot, carrots, peas, beans, beer, spirits, spreads like butter and margarine and be very careful of sauces and condiments. Fruit and milk should be taken very, very sparingly because they are fattening. Fruit is full of sugar too, only a very small amount. Avoid all processed food including diet soda it will stimulate insulin. 3 cups of black tea or coffee WITH meals a day is OK. Use Stevia for a sweetner.OK, if you are still with me, what can you eat? In a nutshell you replace the carbs you have removed with protein and green leafy vegetables. Do not mix protein only 1 per meal. This is what you can eat. Lean meat, poultry, fish, cheese, yoghurt and eggs are your permitted proteins. Cauliflower, cabbage, sprouts, broccoli, capsicum, mushroom, celery, zucchini and a small amount of tomato. You can have unlimited amounts of lettuce and cucumber but ONLY at meal times. You can use balsamic vinegar as a dressing; mustard is ok too but only made from the powder. Shop bought is full of sugar! Curry powder in cooking can be used as well. One tablespoon of olive oil is ok per day, in cooking and as a dressing. Garlic is OK but not shop bought; you guessed it, full of sugar. Use fresh.I will GUARANTEE if you stick to this you will loose heaps of weight, fast. I know it s not easy and you need the support of your family too. Just another couple of things I forgot. NO breakfast cereal and avoid really heavy exercise you will just burn glycogen in your muscles, not fat and it will just make you sore and tired. You need prolonged gentle exercise to burn fat like walking. You don t need to exercise at all on this diet as long as you re moving about. Last but not least read food labels and look at the ingredients. Avoid foods like the plague with more than 5 grams of carbohydrate per 100 grams. If you like a drink, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc (very dry and low in carbs) with a little soda water is OK with meals.Good Luck. Jules, lecturer. Australia.

Good old fashion exercise and diet! Just remember if you exercise to burn off calories more than intake. You ll lose the weight permanently.

It is mostly NOT your fault, if you need to lose weight. The way you have been taught to eat is responsible for making obesity the number one health problem in the world (according to Atlantic Monthly magazine) replacing hunger and infectious disease. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin. Not a diet, but diet lifestyle.Find out about fastest way to lose weight, gradual ways to lose weight, most effective exercise and anti-water. How to lose weight while on birth control pills? -

I have never had trouble losing before I went on the pill. Has anyone had any success and if so How did you do It?

i would suggest a new pill. I took seasonale had the same issue..Yaz is better for me.

I ve been on it for about 5 years now. I started exercising routinely about a year ago...and I found that cutting out Trans Fats helped me a lot. I am not fat but i wanted to lose a little. Trans Fat elimination was my best bet.TransFat=fried foods, partially hydrogenated oils, shortening and margarine (some)

I know it s tough the pill actually makes you more bloated in general. avoid salty foods at all costs to prevent it from getting worse. also just try and eat more foods that do not come in a package like fresh foods and vegetables. and don t forget to exercise

hard to do. the pill makes you eat sooo much. just chain up the fridge and buy a treadmill.

im on the pill.it shouldnt be any harder, just keep a healthy and active lifestyle. :)

get protein powder and mix it in a little cup, add water and drink it before you go to bed and it will burn fat!

you need to do two things:exercises and go in a diet. The pills shouldn t affect your weight

Wao mang. You don t want skinny babies D: 2 POUNDS 1 OUNCE, WAO.

Diet and exercise.. my girlfriend lost 35 pounds on birth control doing just that... try weight watchers, it works.

eryerythryhtrsrhysrth

dont take the pill and itll be a ton easier!

exerciseduh!!! =]

freakin eat right, and work the eff out.

I m not on bills, but eat healty and move more simple :)

Weight loss tips, please?!? -

I am 5 6 , 147 ibs., and of decently large build. (Let s just say, even if I lose a LOT of weight, I could never be under a size ten. It s just how my body is built.) I m looking for a type of diet plan that would help me lose weight rather fast, but still not leave me feeling completely famished. (I can deal with some hunger, though.)My goal is to have lost about ten-fifteen pounds by the time summer begins.. and keep it off, too. Also, what types of indoor exercises can I do that will help me lose that weight? Normally I ride my bike down hilly dirt roads for about three miles a day, but now, my schedule and how dark it gets this time of year won t permit me to do that. I don t have an exercise machine either, because I do not have the money to buy one, (unless you know of a cheap, effective one?)

Plenty of liquids for in between meals..water coffee tea may help the hunger. Plus (if you drink caffeine) coffee or tea will get you moving even more!

How to lose weight in a month and also over time while being healthy? -

I am currently over weight and I honestly want to change my weight adn improve my diet. Actually, my diet is not bad yet i am not very active. So what are som things I can do around the house. Also my son is turning a year and I now feel as though I am starting to gain some more time to myself. So please help me I will truly appreciate it.

On Yahoo!Answers I find certain questions being asked repeatedly which is simply a reflection of new people participating. A couple of common question amounts to How do I lose weight, or more specifically, How do I lose abdominal fat? I have gotten very positive responses from my answers when I paused to reply (and now beginning to get It works! emails that are very gratifying. I like helping people)... so have recently decided to put a good solid answer on my Yahoo!360 Blog (September 10) that I can point people to. These are my thoughts as a physician and athlete.Don t target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into starvation mode and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful. There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn t true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below. The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the moderate fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode. Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy. To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, swimming calories you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine. For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet. Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn t overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further. There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about How to get a six-pack? The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the core is active which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive. If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.Aloha

Cut out junk food or anything high in sugar content eat healthy, and exercise. Why not take your son out for walks?

I know what worked for me and I won t B.S. you, it s hard. I ve managed to lose 63lbs in about 4 months by eating only fruit, chicken, fish, and veggies. The excercise is some sort of cardio 3-4 times a weeks for 1 hr and if I have time a 1 hr weight lifting session. If you can manage it, I d do that....

High protein, lean protein and cut the carbs. No more than 30 perday. Women need at least 65 g protein aday and men need 80g per day.Works for me. Plus protein supplements are a good idea and help to feel full longer

Put the baby in the stroller and start walking. I don t know where you live, but I am not that far from a park, about a 15 minute walk. My son is 16 months old, and I started doing this a few months ago. I get my exercise and he gets to play on the swings for a bit before we walk home.Another thing I started doing (not very good at it, so I do it when it is only me and the baby) is sit ups. I sit him on the couch, place my feet under the couch and try doing sit ups, every time I come up, I make funny faces or silly sounds at my son, so he enjoys it and doesn t mind sitting there for me. I try my best to get through 20 of these.

walk walk walk....and dont eat chips and pastries and ice cream. eat more veggies and meat. But if you arent much of an excersior, walking is easy and you set the pace. Get a neighbor to go with you or push your son in the storller. Wear ankle weights and hills are really good for the backside.

Try the chicken and water diet. I did it once just shed a few pounds and I lost 22 pounds in 3 weeks. Basically all your eat is white portions of non-breaded chicken 4 times and day and drink a full glass of water with it including 4 glasses of water through out the day. Then I did cardio 1 hour every day and boy did I lose and lean up. I wouldn t recommend doing this for a long period of time but if you want to shed a few quick pounds pretty quick its a good way to go. And oh yeah, take a multi vitamin every day because only eating chicken, well you will not be getting all the vital nutrients you need. If you stick to it believe me it will work!

Walk, dance around the house with your son. Move, move, move is the key word. Also, my daughter is going to Weight Watchers man has it helped her. She had weighed 250 in 6mths she weighs 185 . Shes went down from a 20 to an 8-10. She eats but she watches what she eats and she excercise at home and walks. Good Luck cause its very easy to put it on but harder to take it off.

cut back to one meal a day for two weeks and se the difference. I fyou don t lose it you need ot see a doctor.no sodas, sweets, candy, ice cream.whole milk, pastras, pizzas, fast foods. or eat a small breakfast, (whole wheat cerials, oatmeal) a small protein dinner, and salad for supper, not fat in it.exercise

Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. Here is how it works. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk. But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets. So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Remember the above (not on site) and see site below to re-learn how to eat so you can be thin and fit for life.http://phifoundation.org

Actually try water fasting. Detox your body to get rid of all the toxins from junk food. After the water fasting, this will give you a chance to start a new eating habit. For more information, click on the link. Good luck!http://www.freedomyou.com/fasting_book/water%20fasting.htm

I gained a lot of weight after I had my son, who is now a year and a half. I still haven t managed to lose ALL of it, and I got fed up, so I started walking. I walk a mile a day and started eating better, and so far I ve lost over 10 pounds in 2 weeks. I m sure the weight loss will begin to slow down eventually, but I m pleased with my progress so far. Walking is great exercise! Why not take your son out for a stroll?

yes- cutting out sugar is important. you also gotta cut out fat and cholesterol. i lost 25 pounds since april by doing this. just doing this alone will help. take multivitamins and get some exercise

To lose weight, you need to reduce the calorie intake by some amount. It is important to develop a healthy diet , so that body receives sufficient nutrients even as you try to lose weight. Check the calorie count of the food you eat. A diet without sufficient nutrients like vitamins and minerals will only increase your appetite when you are trying to lose weight. Since most people combine a diet with an exercise plan to lose weight , additional nutrients are required for the growth of muscles to increase the metabolic rate. Small changes in your diet can help you lose a lot of weight. For long term fat loss, the exercise program should consist of a combination of weight training and aerobic exercises. How to lose weight on the upper body? -

I m more of the, shall we say, carrot shaped body. All my fat seems to pile on my upper arms (thier huge), breasts and stomach. I have been going to the gym practically everyday for a month and have seen an improvement - but in my legs!!Can someone please suggest some exercise that will help me shift my arms (which if the pattern still continues will be bigger than my thighs)!

You need to combine exercise with diet so that you are burning body fat - not just increasing muscle.I used a shapeworks diet from a1diet and lost weight specifically from my upper body. The link is below.

Is there a rowing machine at your gym? Those are great for an upper body work out

what you need to do is many reps with lower weights, this will tone your upper body but not make your muscles huge. Try 3-5 kg weights with 30 repetitions times 3 and you will see results. Follow up with some cardio like the crosstrainer. I would also reccomend to try boxing, It has worked wonders for burning fat on my upper body. I do it for 30 mins about once a week combined with my other training (i go for an hour 4 times a week) and lost 5% body fat on my upper body in 2.5 months. Also, remember you can t loose weight on one part of your body only, but you can change your body shape with weights.Ask the PT s at your gym for some advise.Good luck!

such exercises as chest fly, shoulder press, or bicep curl machines (that almost EVERY gym has) will certaintly tone up the fatty deposits in your arms and upper body. also you might want to try Latissimus Dorsi exercises, but I m not sure if you would consider that upper body, but the top half of the muscle does connect to about your armpit.

You need to train for your upper body, do weights 3 times a week and use the rowing machine this helped me loads, if you book an assesment in your gym with an instructor they should be able to give you a work out plan directly for your requirements, but you definitley will not loose the upper weight without using weights aswell as cardio.

THE CROSS TRAINER IS GOOD FOR THE WHOLE BODY.THE ROWING MACHINE IS GOOD FOR ARMS AND STOMACH, ALSO DO SOME SIT UPS THAT WILL TONE YOUR STOMACH.

You should get yourself the free Science of Fat DVD athttp://thebestfreebies.com/health.htm It will show youhow the brain and body regulate weight and why somepeople are hefty while others are lean.
