Weight loss tips please? -

I am trying to lose fifteen pounds, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips to losing weight?

The only way to lose weight is to burn more calories than you consume. I would suggest creating a 500 calorie deficit per day, 250 through food and 250 through exercise. What that means exactly is that you should burn about 250 calories a day through exercise (about a 30 min run or fast walk) and eat 250 calories less. This is a safe pace to lose weight, about 1-2 lbs a week. Good luck! Also, visit mypyramid.gov to figure out how many calories you should be consuming daily since I do not know your height/weight/age, etc.

If you are overweight and if you do not take care of it, you may come across various health problems like high blood pressure, diabetes, heart diseases, etc. Many people who are overweight may feel insecure or dejected. Hence in order to get rid of the weight quickly, you have to consciously set targets to reduce weight. A combination of good diet and exercise can get you adequate results. You should refrain from eating junk food and oil rich diet, because they slow down the metabolism, increase the fat deposition in your body and cause problems to the heart.

Hi:Eat plenty of healthy foods. Not fried food.Lots of Fresh fruits and vegetables, salads etcLess carbs (meats)Drink plenty of waterYou need to stay on at leat 1,500 calories a day or anything less than that you will put it backBike riding, walking 15 minutes in the evenings is a good start, use a skipping rope and start jumping this will burn fat.Exercise is good

How to lose weight when almost confined to bed? -

My mom had heart lung failure a few years back. She had to have a tracheotomy tube put in and sleeps on a vent machine at night to assist her lungs under her body s weight. She also has degenerative osteoarthritis. If she lost some weight she could lose the tube and probably would feel better, and would at least be able to use the lift bus service with her electric wheelchair. We don t have a lot of money for a weight loss program our exercise options are limited. Any ideas?

Without exercise, she s pretty much limited to dieting. She will have to reduce her caloric intake in order to make up for lack of exercise. She can either continue with her normal foods and gradually eat less and less, or she can try eating lower calorie foods. Dietitians recommend making 30% of your calories come from carbs if you want to lose weight. However, many people find that if they increase the portion of meat/eggs/other high protein foods, they can eat smaller meals. I guess it depends on the person and how they respond. You may want to do some research on diets to find one that will work for her. Also any type of exercise she can do would help not only to burn calories but to maintain her range of motion. If all she can do is ankle pumps that is still something. She can turn on the radio at various times of the day and pump her arms in and out and stretch legs up ad down or do ankle pumps to the music, trying to put each joint through its full range of motion. Light weights would be great too if she can do them. This will also help to maintain muscle strength so that when she is able to get around better, she will have less weakness.

Eat Negative Calorie Foods . Negative Calorie Foods are those kinds of food that uses up more energy than the calories they provide so, the net effect is negative(less than zero) calories added to the body. So, you can eat more and still lose weight.Examples of these kinds of food are: asparagus, beet, broccoli, green cabbage, carrot, cauliflower, celery, chili pepper, cucumber, dandelion, endive, garlic, green beans, zucchini, onion, radishes; and for fruits: apple, cranberries, grapefruit, lemon, mango, orange, pineapple, raspberries, strawberries, tangerine, papaya. These foods are also called fat-burners. They metabolize the calories from even the other foods you eat.More info from source: http://loseweightsite.net

I have multiple sclerosis and fully understand your problems. However much the stricker persons wants to stay in shape there are barriers that cannot be overcome. Given the number of medical interactions she has, I d suggest they prescribe or give a referral to a physical therapist that might be covered by insurance. Alternately many agencies that deal will illness can and do provide in home services of the sort you are seeking. You say that, ... if she lost some weight she could lose the tube ,.,This suggests that the medical personnel who oversee this should be able to make aggressive suggestions within her limits that would be of benefits. One of the things you need to learn to be is your own advocate. It s necessary to ask questions and, if you don t get action or service, keep pressing. Politely, but firmly. Help for her is there, you need to find it. The best of luck.

Any exercise is better than none. Getting up and down more will help and using small weights or just any kind of moving will help. One thing that may help is a self treatment called EFT. You can look it up in any search engine. It is not hard to learn and could be beneficial.Another thing is to cut down on simple carbohydrates such as soda pop, cookies, cakes, bread and like that. If you are going to eat carbohydrates then eat more of the complex ones such as a baked potato, but without the sour cream and butter. Eat lots of fresh vegetables and fruit and drink lots of water. Hope this helps.

without knowing the current diet who could answer to be fair I would have thought so long as the Cal s are 500-1000 a day she ought to see some weight loss if they currently have more than that but if not and the intake is already in this ball park then the body will be used to this intake and expenditure to answer properly you need some hard facts

How to lose weight? What kind of food should i eat to maintain a healthy diet? -

Hi, i am 15 and i am trying to lose as much as weight as possible. i want to lose about 30 pounds which right know for me is impossible, see im not that fat or anything but i feel like im huge. i am pakistani so for gaining weight is really easy. i want to know which kind of food should i eat and how much should i eat? please help if you can. i really need your help.

Follow this:Breakfast- Oatmeal (non-instant) w/ fruit or bananna snack- appleLunch- Chicken or fish (no sauce, not fried) with brown rice yellow squash or zucchinisnack- celery 1 tsp organic peanut butter Dinner- Fish with asparagus zucchini or yellow squashYou can switch it up... but do this for a month and it will work. Drink a ounce of water for every pound you weigh. Or at least try to drink a gallon a day... The first few days you will be going to the restroom non-stop but that s just your body flushing all the water weight your holding and you ll loose 5 pounds by just doing that.At least 30 minutes of exercise (cardio) a day and 30 minutes of weight training... The cardio is really important to speed up your weight loss... Whether it be walking, running, riding a bike, swimming, anything to get your body active! Weight loss is 75 % diet 25 % exercise. So keep that in mind when you want to eat that cookie after you exercised for a half hour. You are what you eat, and you cant exercise off all that greasy, salty, sugary food. Follow this plan and you ll see progress... 10 pounds one month is what this got me :)

just try to eat half of what u would allways eat, thats alot easyer then buying a diff kind of food

What are some good weight loss tips? -

I m trying to lose a lot of weight. I m tired of being fat and obese. I got a Wii Fit and thinking of going on Nutrisystem. Do you these things are a good idea? I also eat too much and don t really like veggies that much. Do you have any ideas on what I should eat?

I have been in Nutrisytem since mid January and I have now lost 20 pounds! I ve never been fat but I wasn t happy with the way I looked after 4 kids being over 50. Oh, and I don t exercise! They give you the specific things you are suppose to add to the meals. The food isn t great (not home cooked) but it s pretty good. You pick from a list and you learn what you like the best. (The pizza is good.) Some of the snacks are REALLY good.I had an apple scone Light Yoplait yogurt for breakfast. Beans Ham soup is lunch. I ll have Sweet Sour Chicken with noodles for dinner. I ll add Yoplait or hard boiled eggs or Frigo string cheese. I m not thrilled with veggies either but I like V-8 juice and salads.A lot of it is portion control. The Nutrisystem meals are not big but since you have 3 definite meals, plus a snack, you aren t hungry. Whether you are on Nutrisystem or not, you have to burn more calories than you take in. Nutrisystem is just easy and you don t have to think about it. That s what I need.

Do you really want to lose weight Kurt R? First, shift your diet to include a lot more raw vegetables like lettuce and carrots. The rapid weight loss will partly be a result of old stuck food in your intestines finally being scraped out by good sources of fiber found in raw vegetables. Fiber is what keeps the food moving properly through your intestines without getting stuck. The fiber part of the food is what your digestive tract grabs onto to keep the food moving through your intestines. If you do eat a meal containing refined starches, you need to make sure that you eat them with as many raw neutral vegetables as possible. Raw neutral vegetables contain a lot of the good type of fiber that your body needs to keep the foods moving through your digestive tract without them getting stuck.Stop eating foods that clog up your digestive tract. You see, refined starches are very very clogging to your digestive tract, and these types of foods (and their residues) get stuck in your body, and they start to rot before they are eliminated. Refined starches have had most of the fiber removed from them. Examples of refined starches are, white flour, pasta, biscuits, cookies, cakes, tortillas, crackers, snack chips, most breakfast cereals, white rice, corn chips, ect. It takes complex machinery to remove the fiber portion of a plant food. In nature, no other animal eats refined starches (except animals that eat out of garbage dumpsters made by humans). We are eating a diet that is not really fit for humans to eat if they want to remain healthy. So Kurt R for starter try the above and see if you notice any changes in your weight!Good Luck.

Alright, this has worked for me and I m a big foodie. As long as you eat a good full breakfast and lunch and something very small for dinner (like a sandwich or even cereal) you ll start losing it. Just walk for an hour a day and drink water and you ll shed pounds. And you don t have to do any fancy race walking or running, walk as slowly and comfortably as you want, as long as its for 30 mins to an hour.

I m going to be honest with you:1- You HAVE to eat vegetables, not ONLY vegetables but also vegetables...I hated vegetables myself but once i started eating them, i felt so good...you need to try a diversity of them and find out which ones you like...For example I love broccoli, asperagus and celeri but i found out but trying them...you know??2- Wii Fit is ok BUT what i can suggest is to buy an elleptical and go at your own pace...they are not that expensive, i bought one for $150. I started with 5 min a day and now i do it 30 min...then i ll start going on3- you should portion your food...say you used to eat 2 plates of food, eat 1. and use subsitutes...for example instead of using sugar, why not use honey? you know small stuff like that...4- I don t know about Nutrisystem BUT what I can tell you is check the sodium intake...if it s more then 500mg, GET OFF IT!!! with more then that amout you ll get high blood pressure. even that amount is high for every day...5- you wont change over night...but small steps will make a difference...i went from doing my eleptical to 5 min ever 3 days to doing it everyday for 30 min [except when i ahve my period].Good Luck...I m with you on this!!

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes. Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight. First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day. Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

Check out this lens it got some great tips and reviews.http://www.squidoo.com/Lose_Fat_Get_FitGood Luck!

hi :) am not sure whats available in the markets...but, this is what i did to lose weight... PLEASE DONT TAKE PILLS... pills are nothing but anorectic agents... they make you feel less hungry... there is no way to loose weight fast... though , sauna , steam and massages help slightly... it has to be combined with diet and excercise... pills are very bad in the long run... can lead to impotency and infertility...i lost 10 kgs in about 5 months time... i am getting married in august and i desperately needed to loose weight... i was 65 kilos when i started... according to my BMI , i was 10kgs + overweight... i stand 5 2.odd and 65 kilos is grossly overweight...just dieting wont help like i found out in my case... diet + exercise will do the trick...i ll tell you what i did... it worked for me... hope it works for you too :)the trick is not to starve but to eat smart :) and stay healthy :)what you should cut down :oil , butter , cheese , margarine , mayonisse , sauces (depends , will get back to that a bit later), chips , crisps, nuts , chocolates , sugar , cola, fizz , areated drinks ,ice creams , chocolate , alcohol , cakes and everything else thats hi - cal... you ll need to avoid everything thats sweet , oily and sticky... if you are not sure about what foods to avoid... check the net...loads of info available...vegetables / meat to avoid :potatoes - very very important , beetroot (its a root and has concenterated sugar in it) , all kinds of roots basically except carrot... avoid lamb, mutton , pork , beef, and prawns... all these put on weight... eat only lean meats... thats fish and chicken.. avoid eating egg yolk... eat just the egg white...fruits to avoid :mangoes , bananas , jackfruitnow that we had a look at what foodstuff is to be avoided...you might be wondering if there is anythig at all that you can eat... thats how i felt... there is loads of stuff you can eat actually :)here they come :)fast foods are a big no no... you can order salads and special lo cal foods that are avaailable in most outlets...its best to eat at home for the period you are dieting and trying to lose weight...after those few months... once you ve shed your load...you can get back to your usual lifestyle... of course with some caution...my diet...breakfast:skimmed milk (use skimmmed milk , is low in fat , other typer of milk are higher in fat content) , fruit... i am from India... am not sure where you are from and hence you might not understand certain food types we consume here... but let me tell you something... Indian food is very very oily and very difficult to diet...and try cereal in the mornings... oats, weetabix... etc... have a good breakfast...alwaays use brown bread... whole wheat brown bread is very good for weight reduction...for lunch , we are staple rice eaters... rice is bad for fat reduction... but i still took rice because its a habit tht cant be changed... everyone takes rice here... so... rice - one cup - 100gms and lots of veggies cooked in less oil.. and absolutely no coconut and curry with less oil... all in all keep your oil intake to 2 tea spoons everyday... that would be just for seasoning... also using olive oil helps a lot...then for dinner... compulsarily have wheat... pasta is a good option...but make sure you buy wheat pasta... check before buying... and of course in pasta absolutely no sauces... some varities of sauces are acceptable... as far as they dont have cheese , butter , oil ,mayonisse and fattening substances in general... you can use tomato spicy sauces etc... make sure your sugar intake doesnt cross 2 - 3 spoons per day... (not tablespoons) and no butter and ghee of course... eat a lot of fruits and vegetables... and all kinds of cereal... if you are hungry... eat a fruit... or you can eat stuff like puffed wheat and puffed rice... but no puffed corn... corn products again put on weight...eat sandwiches as much as possible... i dont know which part of the world you are from and hence cant suggest much for you in terms of recepies...and combined with dieting... you need to excercise for atleast an hour everyday... you ll see the difference...defenitely... if you think gym is boring... take up dance classes... or run along the beach... if you have one... or skate... or just about any physical activity... brisk walking will also help...the key is to stay healthy while you diet and lose weight...drink loads of water...atleast 6 glasses per day... and do a lot of physical activity.... take the stairwy instead of the lift.... and small things like that...if you have any more queries...mail me... cheers :) and good luck :) its not difficult...you ll get used to it in a few days... and of course the results are fab:) who doesnt want a great looking body...you can get back to your normal lifestyle once you slim down... after that... its just eating what you like and burning it out the next day with just a little bit of excercise :) also check your weight everyday... its a great way to motivate and monitor your progres :)Source(s):personal exp :)

i think you should find a bathing suit that will be flattering to your body shape. i don t know what it is but if you do a search you can find bathing suit styles that will flatter large hips, or small cleavage etc. with the right bathing suit you can really impres. good luck. also go easy on salts and other foods that cause water retention a couple of days beforehand and that should help a bit.

Drink lots of water, cut out wheat from your diet (if you like bread you can always eat rye bread) and just relax! Looking good is more about confidence....stand up tall, shoulders back and smile....it makes all the difference. A well-cur bathing suit and a sarong would be a good idea to give you confidence too. Enjoy yourself!

choose a good swim suit

How to lose weight on your back and stomach? -

Ok so my legs are pretty skinny. My problem is my back and stomach. Whenever I exercise my legs get skinnier and it seems like all the weight either goes to my back or stomach. When I tighten my stomach it s all hard, is that just fat underneath? My problem areas are my lower back, obliques, and my lower stomach. What can I do to get rid of all that in 2-3 weeks minimum?Thank- You.

You cannot lose weight from just certain body areas. Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. Vary your routines. Don t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn t adjust to any one routine. An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc.

Most people make weight loss more difficult than it actually is and worse, many people actually believe that weight loss is some thing that is almost impossible to achieve. A simple re-ordering of your diet and exercise should help you shed a lot of pounds. I have written a lengthy article that lists certain related answers for your specific question. You can view the page here http://loseweightblogger.blogspot.com/ . Hope that helps, please do let me know of your progress.

You cannot spot reduce fat. It has been proven. When you lose fat, it comes off last where it was first put on. Check to make sure that you re in a healthy weight zone for your height. If so, I would just tone the muscles and not try to lose weight. When your stomach is hard, that s the muscle, not the fat.

The best thing you can do is to watch what you eat and do cardio. The number thing though is to get your diet in check. When I say diet, I don t necessarily mean you have to lose weight. You just have to eat properly and avoid fatty and refined carbohydrates.

Walk/Cycling 30 minutes every afternoonit help you reduce some fatset your eat patternIf you want to eat in the night, eat boiled potatoes/corn

ur back fat is jus extra fat. the only way 2 get rid of that is 2 eat less. and unless u eat accordingly then exercise. as for ur stomach, that can go away if u do crunches. like situps for example.

Back extensions, Oblique V-ups, and Bent-leg knee raises. If I were you I d do a internet serach for lower ab exercises.

a good lower cal diet and cardio are how u lose fat, any fat. u cant focus ur fat loss to a specific area. 2-3 week isnt much time though

try 7 minute abs, google it

jump rope no joke it really helps u get back in shape and it a good work out or u can do sit ups about like 30 a day
