Wrong! Your friend only took off water weight, which is really stupid and may be very unhealthy. Your friend tried to find an easy way to reach a desired outcome. You need to work to achieve your goal. Run, hike, or bicycle for one to two hours a day for a month. Eat more fruits and vegetables. Do not eat any fattening junk foods or anything with corn syrup, like soda.

Weight Loss tips? -

Hi,my 13- nearly 14 year old daughter said she wants to loose at least a few pounds before we go on holiday the 16th of august. What good tips and techniques would you give her? thanks a lot.

Instead of just telling her how to loose weight, why don t you make it a mother and daughter bonding session?I dont know how or you eat, or how physical you are during the day? So why dont you do easy things if you find it hard to find the time or money. Swimming is fun, and not strenuous on any muscles, and normally fairly cheap, you can go together, after work, or during the day, and it doesnt just have to be swimming up and down, you can play games, or do an aerobics class as well. Eating healthier could make her feel better from the inside out, which could make her feel she doesnt have to loose weight. As I said before, I dont know how you eat, but why dont you eat some delicious salads? Mix some rocket, baby spinach and watercress (the big leaved ones, the ones you get in a packet) in a bowl, drizzle with a small amount of olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Slice some red onions thinly after cutting in half, throw in some chopped walnuts, and enjoy, add what ever else you want, some feta, or even a poached egg. Dont forget to season with a little salt ad pepper. Or grill some chicken breast, make a salsa from quartered baby tomatoes, sliced onion, tonnes of chopped parsley, coriander and a little mint. Add some new potatoes, and salad! Add lots of fresh herbs to your food, it makes it taste nicer, and you can add less oil, butter and salt to your food. Also try drinking green tea, it might make her feel more grown up, and it is good for you! Also another great thing to do with a daughter that age and just before going on holiday is pampering. Again if money permits, go on a little shopping splurge, buy some nice holiday clothes that suit her body, and then go to get your hair done, and maybe a manicure and pedicure. If you cant afford to go to a beauty salon for the day, do it at home, soak your feet in some warm scented water, do your toenails together, and your fingernails, let her do yours, and be creative. If you show your daughter that all she needs to do is be comfortable with herself, which normally takes people years to work out, she is beautiful. One other thing, why did your suddenly feel she should loose weight before holiday? After your bonding session, why dont you ask subtly? Normally these types of things are prompted by friends or school colleagues making little comments, which are normally fuelled from insecurity in themselves. Good luck!

Make sure she has a balanced diet and increases the exercise (swimmimg is good). Replace any snacks with fruit and make sure she doesn t skip meals as this makes your body store more fat as it thinks it s being starved. Don t let her get caught up in this awful weight obsessed time we re having. Life s hard enough!

someone that age should not be worrying about their weight, unless they have aserious problemjust make sure she is kept active and not eating tons of junk

pick one day out of the week to just eat junk food but all the rest of the day eat helthy and try to lay off stuff like sweets candys fats oils and that kinda stuff....just get some of those smart ones in the frozen section....those are good and healthy for youor you can eat more organic stuff....and exercise everydayhope it helped =)

I would go for a half an hour jog in the morning before she eats so that she burns off fat that she hasnt already gained from eating exercise 3 meals a day healthy ones i might add, exercise= shtrtching or yoga is a good way. Other than that i have nothing good luck

Eat healthily with lots of veggies, lean meat and complex carbs and exercise, you will not have problem losing some fats and weight. There are no hunger pangs too.I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs and gain better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs for more than a year.Details such as meals, recipes, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blogXiaozhen

she should do some more activities daily, and maybe cut out the junk food and replace coke with water, those are just little stuff to lost just a few pounds

i don t know this help or not but u can try....for chinese they believe that breakfast is very important and u need to eat until ur stomach is full. lunch should take in food that is just nice or maybe not too full. while night time try not to take to much food specially oilly. take half amount of the lunch for dinner.if u feel hungry before dinner try to take some biscuit or drink some milk. in malaysia we hav nestum or milo to help us gain energy. dont let her take supper.because it is not good for health too. make sure she hav fix timing for her meal.make sure dinner time is always at 6 to 7 pm. because the food need to be diegest few hours be4 sleeping time.try to ask her go for jogging or for a walk at least 30 min. there is where u start to burn fat. less than 30 min dosent help to burn fat.make sure she wake up early and sleep early too.

How to lose weight with Type 1 diabetes? -

I have had Type 1 diabetes since April, and, prior to my diagnosis, I weight 10st. Now I weight 10st 10lbs, and I would really like to lose some weight. I already go to the gym and exercise, but I m really finding that insulin makes me put on weight. Has anyone got any tips on how to lose weight?N.B-I m a vegetarian, and I obviously can t cut out carbohydrates.=]

If you take insulin and need to lose weight, don t eat so many carbs and get some exercise. You are not supposed to eat what you want and then take extra insulin to cover it. This CAUSES weight gain.Just stick to a good healthy diet, watch your carbs and go walk every day for about 45 minutes.Quit looking for the fast, easy way, that may put your health in great danger.Learn to manage your disease the way you are supposed to. DIET and medication and exercise.Control is Cure.

Yes, insulin can cause weight gain, but it is not impossible to lose weight when you are taking it. It requires will power and exercise. Cut down on the amount of carbs you take in. The more insulin you use, the harder it is to lose weight, and it can cause you to put more weight on. You need some carbs of course, for energy, but you can also still have a healthy diet and lose weight if you just cut out even a few carbs at each meal and snacks. The tighter your diet is, the less insulin you have to use. Even if you are a vegetarian, yes you can cut down on carbs. Get a nutritionist to help you.

I m having the same problem. I m not veggie, but I just have a hard time keeping my carbs down. I ve been doing Weight Watchers for months but I ve only lost 2-3 lbs. I m on a support group at TuDiabetes, and the consensus is that higher carbs are the culprit. So I am going to try and focus on lower-carb instead. It sounds like 100g or less a day really makes a difference, and of course watch fats and calories and get plenty of exercise. You re right that being veggie makes limiting carbs a challenge. Hate to suggest it, but are you open to fish or chicken? Probably not...in that case try to work tofu and eggplant into your diet more, and beans have carb but the high fiber negates some of that. And of course cheese and eggs are good in addition to veggies. Maybe watch the fruit and just have a little of that.

Honey, you can and must cut the starchy carbs out of your food plan. Vegan or not, it is a must to cut them.Fats do not stay in the bod and cause one to be fat. It is the starchy carbs that do that. They turn into the stored fats with the help of insulins.Pastas and breads and cereals, grain products of most kinds, potatoes, corn, carrots, peas and dried beans are the ones that are supposedly so good for us that are actually the ones that collect around our middles to our great disgust and harrassment. These can be cut down to a minimum. To understand exactly what each do to YOU:1. prepare a dish and measure out a portion at snack time2. test glucose number, and eat the food portion3 90 minutes to 2 hours after the first testing, test againJournal all of the testings, the hours, the amount and type of food eaten. It will tell you what each food will do to or for you.As much exercise as you can squeeze into your day will help as much as anything in keeping the stones and ounces off your backside as well.Obviously none of us carnivore or vegan can cut out all the carbs, but we can and must cut down on the heavier ones.Taking steroids for breathing problems has given me some other weight problems to go with the insulin/carb ratios as well. Cutting the carbs to the bone is not helping at all.

Just for completing other answers when you need a healthy food for diabetes life, you can visit diabetes recipes collection on this blog. http://diabetesrecipes.warnetnews.com/ However, balance nutrition is the most important to guard his vitality.Hope this can help you. Take care. GBU

I have used several of their programs, most have rocked, some didnt -- so overall, I say that they are safe to do business with and have good programs.

Weight loss tips? -

I am 15 years old and I have gained a fair amount of weight this summer. I am a dancer on my high school drill team and I have got to get in shape before school. I weigh about 140, it varies around there. I am 5 4 also. I wanto be around 100 to 110. I would appreciate any tips you have for me.Please do not tell me it s not safe. I KNOW THAT! But hello, it s a drill team here. School starts in about two months but we start practicing in August. Please help me out here and give me anything you know. Thank you so much.

Eat protein no bigger then your fist every 3 hrs. It will burn more calories. Eat only turkey burgers baked or grilled chicken or fish...Get boomie bars and snack on them only the almond protein plus. Do weights the more muscle you have the more calories you will burn throughtout the day and at night when u sleep

100-110 would be actually be a healthy weight. Try excersize for at least 1.5 hour each day. Jogging or bike riding is good. Dont try to starve yourself, just eat healthy and ONLY eat when you are hungry. If you want a snack, eat a fruit or veggetable.
