Why is losing weight harder when you have already shed a lot of pounds? -

HI everyone! c;I m a female, 19 yrs of age, 5 3 in height. I decided to lose weight last January 2008 for a lot of reasons one could imagine.Sad to say, I m having a hard time now to lose weight.I plan to lose a total of 100 lbs or be in around 110-120 lbs by June, but I lost my motivation because I m really having a hard time and sometimes I already feel comfortable because of the compliments I receive. Here s my record:Heaviest Weight: Jan1 2008- 210 lbsBy Jan 31- 200 lbs (by mere counting of calorie intake)By Feb 28- 190 lbs (diet and swimming thrice a week)By Mar 30- 180 lbs (also by swimming and diet)Month of April- (I stopped swimming because of busy schedule but I managed to maintain my weight)May 1- May 30-170 lbs (1st month at the gym- everyday workout)June 1- July 30- 160 lbs (still at the gym)Aug 1-Aug 30- 150 lbs (stress at school and diet) (I stopped working out at the gym because of busy schedule and when I have free time, I found it boring and it seems that it s not already effective)Oct 1 to Nov 15 (no work-out but maintained weight)Nov 15 up to this date- (jogging every other day and diet yet it seems of little help) I ve done all of these without taking pills, all because of discipline but I have to admit that I cheated myself a lot of times. Please help me to get my motivation back. Please also give me recommendations on how to continue this weight loss program. I m really confused and I need advices. You re help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Seriously, you just inspired me! I m 23 but same weight you were before you decided to do something about it. As for your question, I can only assume that you hit a plateau or did not change up your calorie intake. Try caloriecount.about.com to see how many calories you should be taking in plus they ll tell you how much exercise you need based on your lifestyle. The first answer is pretty good too. Good luck! Thanks for the inspiration!

wow i think u have done a fab job of losing all those pounds. sometimes it gets tough esp when u hit a platue. just keep at it. take support from a professional. tyr and alter your exercise routine and try something new maybe dancing. keep the motivation up u have earned this result with all the work throughout the year.

What are some weight loss tips for kids? -

My daughter is 11 and over weight. She wants to loose some serious weight over the summer. Have any tips or suggestions?

Do everything possible for her to not be home. Home makes you bored, which makes you eat, which makes you barely get any exercise at all. Try to get her involved in camp or something she can do with her friends. Good Luck =].

Turn off the TV and get outside and play......eat healthier ( no convience or processed food...lots of fruits, vegetables, whole grains.) Don t put a lot of pressure on her just get moving

fat camp. it s a great way to socialize, meet new people, form long lasting relationship , while at the same time forming a healthier lifestyle. Especially at her at her age, i think this would be a fun experience for her. It is important to get her healthier now, before she gets older.p.s. if u don t want to send her away, get her involved with more physical activities. with ur help im sure she can achieve her goal, the most important thing is that she has ur support.

You don t need to buy magical herbs, just eat healthy (mostly fruits and veggies, little bit of meat) an exercise.

Healthy weight loss in 6 weeks? -

Just wondering how much weight loss is healthy within a time frame of 6 weeks? currently 10 stone 11lbs and 5 ft 9; have healthy BMI yet want to slim down for holiday by healthy eating and more exercise than usual 2 hours of gym a week.

Check out fitness TV. If you don t get it were you are,Find yourself a few fitness classes offered by the gym.Jillian Micheal s ,of the biggest looser say. That you get more burning calories verses the classic gym machines. This involves aerobic and cardio. exercise also, to do different exercising every day. Good Luck

Dont pay attention to people who have been posting i shed 80 pounds of fat in 3 months blah blah blahI ve posted 2 weight loss questions this morning, and have 2 different people post that exact answer to me.I got some other good answers, go check out my questions and read what i got as answers.

A couple of lb a week is considered healthy. That would be 12lb in six weeks. So you d weigh just under 10 stone.

Do weight loss pills work? -

Im about 15 pounds overweight...not too much. Ive been eating well, and riding my bike and have lost around 12 lbs...but i am still needing to lose another 15 to be at my target...the first 10 pounds came off pretty fast, but im noticing ive hit sort of a wall...i was told certain fat burner pills in conjunction with diet and exercise can really do the trick.... Im a little skeptical though.... is there anyone who has seen results with these supplements? if so, is it a healthy weight loss or is it just malnourishment?

hi i have just answered a similar question, no need for pills if you read my below answer ok, no quick fix will do the trick.if u r serious about losing weight, then you should do it the wright way.u can lose about 1 pound (of fat) a week if you cut down ur calories intake by 500 and burn 500 by working out.sometimes taking it easy is safer, you don t want to end up having an injury in your knees or ankle here s what i believe is a healthy way to lose fat- eliminate fat, sugar, alcohol (if u drink), coke and other fried food- drink water to help your flush fat - your work out should ideally consist of cardio and weight training- try circuit training ( full body workout) 3 days a week and between your weight training day do 30-40 minutes of cardio (ex: sat: cardio, sunday: weights, monday:cardio, etc) and take one day offyou shall see results after the first 6 weeks, by week 12 you ll notice tremendous changes, try to take a foto before and after 6 weeks and 12 weeks to monitor changes

yes they do

Weight loss pills make you believe they are working, because they help you lose water weight. Numbers on the scale will be going down, but that doesn t mean your body will. So its up to you if numbers on the scale bother you or not...

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

They do not always work and are not healthy for your body. The best, and healthiest, way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise.

Yes maybe.. However, it will depend on how to utilized it. For short if you use drugs without any exercise I strongly believe is doesn t work.
