How can I lose weight b/c I am gaining it from Birth control? -

Im 15 and I used to be soo skinny but when I got on birth control about last May I didnt really notice how big I had gotten untill NOW when its time to get a bathing suit and I need to know how to lose weight so I can be fit for it . WHAT DO I DO??? MOre water?? I heard you could just eat veggies and fruits for one week??? Skipmeals??WHAT

Simple... the healthiest way to lose weight is ONLY EAT WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY... sounds simple but it works, we get too caught up in routine in our country... just have a little snack (dont indulge) when you get hungry, when you are NOT hungry, dont eat... this along with excercise, will lose your weight for you... oh and lastly, eat whatever you want in moderation, no cant have this or that, reason is that your body metabolizes what it knows, if you eat what you like your body will respond, but if you go on a salad diet, the second you have that chocolate... POOF it kills all your hard work eating salad. Your horemones and body will tell you what and when to eat.

Go to your doctor and get on another pill or a different dose. It s not supposed to make you gain weight. Also, just exercise more and eat fewer calories (don t starve yourself, just eat smaller portions and don t eat fattening snacks) and you ll lose a few pounds before summer.

Cut out all carbs for a few weeks. No bread, potatoes, corn, rice, cereal, pasta, fruit, tomatoes, beans (except green beans) and peas. Lots of meat and green vegs

Why, at 15 are you on birth control? you re only 15, I d say ditch the birth control, you shouldn t be having sex so there s no reason to be on it and even if you are having sex, using a condom is better.

Just exercise and eat healthy. The birth control probably contributed some weight, but at 15 your metabolism starts naturally slowing down, so weight gain may be due to that too. My wife put on 5-10 when she started the pill, and she just did exercise and eating healthy to lose that weight and more.Don t buy into fad diets, they are fads for a reason.

If you re gaining weight, just stop taking it. They re a BUNCH of other alternatives. Since it s the pill, there s other brands you can take that might work for you. Go to your doctor and explain that you don t want to gain any more weight from taking the pill.The just eat veggies and fruits for one week doesn t work, neither does skipping meals. Just do what I told you above.

i had the same problem with those birth control pills girl the best thing for you to do is STOP using them they are bad. use something else for protection.

You should stick to a healthy balanced diet and do exercise. You are still growing so going on any of the fashionable fad diets could easily do you more harm than good.

you might need to contact your dr. depends on what b.c. your on. i know the depo shot will make you gain wieght and make your blood pressure go up. there are pills that don t have that affect. other than that it s just the extra hormones in your body.. there s nothing you can really do. be glad it s the b/c and a baby ..

you need cardio and muscles to burn more fat so try walking in your neighborhood or at a park. If you can t then try to get a dvd for cardio. anything that lasts for about 30 - 45 mins. If you mix this w/ free weights then you should lose weight, if you eat healthy of course.

If you work out like push ups and curlers theres a change muscle will just form under the fat. Eat better, swim, I dont think running in place will do much. Get out of your house. Run outside, and if it embaresses you do it at night.

I have been overweight for most of my life, and have been on every diet imagineable. I was wondering the same thing..So i bought Turbo Jam its a work out DVD and it really works. I just pop it in ever day and work out for 45 minutes. And i watch what i eat. I had to lose 10 LBS to fit in my wedding dress. I just ate popcorn for a month. Everyonce in awhile a bite of something i was craving and salad. I didn t exercise at all. Oh, and I drank a HUGE coke everyday. Awful diet, but it did work. As long as it is short term, i say try the popcorn diet.

Doing nothing isn t healthy for you, and certainly isn t going to help in the long run. C mon don t be lazy! You can do this....If you are trying to lose weight there are literally hundreds of ideas out there. In my opinion, the best way, which has been proven time and time again, is a two part method: Eat right and exercise. First, exercise is a no-brainer. You have to burn more calories than you take in for exercise to be considered exercise. How you do it is worth another answer all to itself. So, that brings us to the Eating Right part. If you understand how your body works, you ve got a head start on the world. Food is fuel for the body. Once you ve accepted that concept as more important than the idea that food is entertainment, then the rest will be relatively easy. If you are American, and I assume you are, the Nutrition Facts label that you find on all foods bought in the U.S. are the next thing you need to understand. Go grab something from your kitchen (i.e. jar of peanut butter or a bag of chips...anything with a nutrition label). OK, yeah you need vitamins and minerals and all that. But focus on these three items: FAT, PROTEIN, and CARBOHYDRATES. Let s take these one at a time: FAT is basically divided into good fats and bad fats. The body needs good fats (mono- and poly-unsaturateds). You ll find these in stuff like olives and avocados where the bad fat is minimal if not nonexistent. The bad fats are your saturated and trans fats that you ll find in meats and oils. If you are trying to lose weight, keep these to an absolute minimum. My suggestion (based on a 1500-2000 calorie diet) is to limit yourself to no more than 15g of saturated fat per day. This is hard to do if you re used to eating fast food. It s also hard to do if you drink whole milk, eat cheese (even the 2% variety), and eat fried foods. All of these are high in bad fats. The good news is that you can substitute your diet to eat the very things you like to eat but with better ingredients. If you eat cheese, buy fat free. If you drink milk, buy skim. Slowly take yourself down from whole milk or 2% to 1% before going skim/fat free if the transition is too radical to do all at once. If you eat a lot of ground beef, use the extra lean variety (96% fat free/4% fat), or substitute lean ground turkey instead. Do whatever you have to do to get the bad fat grams down to less than 15 per day.PROTEIN: The building block of nutrition (aside from your vitamins and minerals) is protein. You need it strengthen your muscles and it will be essential with your exercise routine. Without protein, you can t build muscle tone or lean body mass. And guess what? Just having lean body mass (muscles) allows your body to burn more calories even when you are sleeping. Therefore, you are able to lose weight (bad weight, that is) just by sleeping. But, you have to exercise!! Don t forget that. You can find foods that are high in protein but also high in saturated fat, so be careful. Stick to poultry (chicken, turkey), fish (tuna is a great source), and beans. Don t fry your meats because if you do, you just added a bunch of bad fat to your otherwise healthy protein filled meal. Instead, grill, broil, or bake. You can do this! Don t forget to exercise to exponentially reap the rewards of consuming protein. CARBS. In my opinion, the no-carb diet is crap, because you need carbs for energy, especially because you are exercising! That s right, you can t forget you are supposed to be exercising. The trick is choosing the good carbs. You ll see on your nutrition label Total Carbohydrates and Sugars. Sugars should be kept to a minimum and should be avoided within hours of going to sleep. The calories associated with them get stored (for energy) but are not easily burned when it comes time to burn them. Therefore, it s harder to lose the weight associated with them. That s why it s not good to eat lots of candy, cookies, and ice cream that have a lot of sugar. The other kinds of carbs (complex carbohydrates) are essential. You can get these from grains and potatoes. Good stuff!!Now that you have a brief understanding of these three nutrition components, time to get to it. Not as easy as it sounds? That s because, you re human. If you treat your body right (and I mean very right, by limiting your saturated and trans fats, limiting your sugar carbs, and eating plenty of protein), then you deserve a day when you can eat whatever you want. The body has cravings and you should be able to fulfill these cravings IF you can stand to wait until the end of the week. I call this one day of decadence your cheat day. I thing is don t totally cut a certain food out of your diet. If you want a piece of cake eat it, just don t eat all of it. That s how I have helped myself reduce calories. Even though I try to make healthy food choices, if I m craving some cookies I ll eat one instead of five. My question to you is, have you seen a doctor about your depression? and second, are you taking a multivitamin? Both of these may help you gain more energy to get out and exercise.

well i eat 6 small meals a day instead of 3 big means that add up to 1200 calories, i go by a couple of rule, no soda,only one treat a week like a chocolate bar, i can t take seconds and i can t finish anything on my plate even if it means one small bite...these little things can help you lose weight and keep it off
