How to lose weight when you are on estrogen and you are in menapause? -

How to lose weight when you are on estrogen and are in menapause?

I am there. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. HelloHere s what I found out after lots of research and trial and error, the hard way.The reality is that there are no shortcuts or easy ways to get in good shape. Sorry, but someone needed to tell you this.As long as you get conscious about what you are doing, you will see the results. Below you will find the four principles that you need to keep in mind in your weight-loss journey.http://thefatlosssecret.blogspot.com/1.Forget About DietsPeople that go from diet to diet never reach a stable weight, let alone a good shape. The reason is quite simple: diets are, by their very nature, temporary. You cant expect to eat properly for two or three weeks and fix your weight problems for the rest of the year.2.Proper NutritionIf you want to keep your weight and fat percentage under control, you will need to learn the basics of nutrition. Once you learn them, you will be able to eat healthy throughout the year.3.Physical ExerciseEating healthy and having a caloric deficit will only take you half the way. The other key factor is physical exercise.4.Discipline and PerseveranceYou can start eating healthy and exercising properly, but unless you stick doing it regularly, the results wont appear (if they do, they wont last).Discipline and perseverance are key here.Did you know 90% of fat is caused by 3 major factors? Find out exactly whatthey are and how easily it is to solve them here http://thefatlosssecret.blogspot.com/.

How to lose weight as a vegetarian? -

I m a vegetarian who is 17 years old, 5 6.5 and 130 pounds. I m a size 5-7 in juniors. How can I lose some weight or sizes before school starts mid-August? I m already eating around only 1000 calories a day and I m volunteering as a camp counselor with kids, so I have plenty of exercise, but it s not working. Please help? Thanks!

Starving will turn your body into a fat storage machine, you will lose mostly water weight and the lean tissue your body will strip to access nutrition. Your body won t release fat stores if you lower calories below what it needs. It will slow your metabolism to compensate and store every spare ounce as fat. If you continue lowering your calories, it will continue lowering that set point, til you can survive off nothing and store fat on anything. The body will only release it s fat stores if it knows there is plenty of food available (not just calorically high food, but nutritionally high food)..I would suggest you dramatically increase, well above your needs, food intake with low carb foods. It will take your body awhile to access the fat stores depending how long you ve been in starvation mode, but you shouldn t gain weight, other than water weight and the lean tissue your body has had to strip to access nutrition. If you are young enough and do this, you may be able to repair the damage to your metabolism before it becomes permanent.Metabolism is controlled by nutrition. You can t eat 600/1500/2000 calories of vegetables fruit (pick a number, it doesn t matter - only the amount of fat stored changes), your body will treat it as being starved (which it is, starved of nutrition) and will shut down your metabolism as if you re eating nothing, but will store every possible ounce as fat. Inversely, you wont gain weight on 5000 or more calories of fat protein (if fat is 65% of calories) because insulin (the fat storage hormone) is not activated.High fat, adequate protein and very low carbs will after 3 days convert your body to burning fat as fuel (ketosis). While in ketosis you will burn dietary fat and if dietary fat is more than sufficient, body fat directly. High calories will keep the metabolism at maximum fat burning capabilities.Your body requires fats, you will die without them. Your body requires protein, you will die without them. You will die if you eat protein without fat. You do not require carbohydrates. The body can manufacture all it needs from the protein/fat combination. If you starve yourself by lowering calories lower than are needed for the body to function, your body will freak out and will want to store every ounce in case it doesn t get nourished again. You need to give it adequate nourishment so it doesn t slow your metabolism down to adjust for lower calories.Simple carbohydrates (sugar, flour, bread, cereal, pasta, potatoes, rice) triggers insulin which can store the calories you eat into fat. The more protein you eat the more the fat burning hormone glucagon is released. The more carbohydrate you eat the more the fat storage hormone insulin is released.High insulin levels unbalance other hormones. Controlling your insulin level will balance out other hormones allow human growth hormone (HGH) to be produced naturally so you will gain lean muscle even without exercise. Any exercise will greatly increase your muscle mass with high HGH levels.Once you get near your goal, you start adding 5 carbs every 3 days til you gain weight, then you subtract 10 carbs. That would give you your personal carb level (everyone is different and it depends on how active you are.) As long as you remain 9 carbs per hour, you will maintain insulin control, and shouldn t gain weight. Many people gain weight on high carb, then switch to low carb to lose weight then are shocked when they return to high carb that they gain weight. Many people can return to moderate carb levels but very few can really eat all they want of sugar and maintain weight or health.Dr.Atkins was a cardiologist, low carb was a health plan easier sold as a diet Read any of his books for easily understandable science. Lutz Life without Bread Taubes Good calorie, bad calorie are excellent books that dispel all the nutrition myths.

How to lose weight at school? -

I go to school and we don t have recess or extra-curricular activities. I don t participate in anything outside of school. The lunches they serve are really fattening I have gained like 15lbs. I want to lose 60lbs by June. I want to be able to wear shorts and bathing suits without feeling self conscience.

Let school be just what it is supposed to be and concentrate on the weight thing on time other than school time.

a balance of nutrition is most important if u want to lost weight(without becoming ill when u r slim)make a plan of what to eat and when to do exercise

you only need 30 minutes of exercise a day for the average person i say you should just do that

First of all, i know it may seem like you re missing out but at lunch you need to pick the healthiest choice, i know you ve probably heard it and if your friends are picking what looks the best, it is probably the most fattening. Also, take the extra hallway or the longest route to class. (without being late) other than that, at home do some squats, lunges, curlups, and anything to help the parts you want to tone up. maybe even convince your parents to let you join a gym, and start off going 3 or 4 times a week. hope i helped!

1. make your own lunch2. you can not tell me that you do not have enough time in a day, because if you want it bad enough you can make time for it...so exerciseif your school has stadiums, then run stadiums. swimming is a great workout. just becoming more active will definitely make you lose weight. run.3. no fast food, junk food, drink lots of water. run.4. there is no way to lose 60 pounds by June. it really is impossible to do that unless you do it in an unhealthy way (eating disorder). being a wrestler, i could only drop about 10 pounds in a week and most of that was water. so just run.

How to lose weight healthily for a 13 yr old? -

she is 13 and about 5ft and weighs about 8 stone and is very self concious she has stretch marks on her bum and thighs and would like to lose some weight but healthily any tips? and are there any sites that she could use?

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, whichwill lead to increase of weight, or muscle growunderneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet withoutexercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. Fordiet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no foodafter 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending onyour initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. Ifyou don t eat wheat then you don t eat all those sticky, fatty goeycakes, you don t eat junk food, and you don t eat biscuits. But yourdiet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have tocalculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is themost efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight alot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to targetyour problem areas for men and women. It s not necessarily to become abodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help youto target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Don t skip breakfast. Eating a healthy breakfast can help you eat in moderation at lunch and dinner. A high-fiber, low-fat breakfast may make a major contribution to a total reduced food intake for the day.Losing weight is simply a matter of limiting calories consumed and burning off more calories with exercise and daily activities. To lose weight, it helps to know how many calories you are consuming in a day. Also, eating Negative Calorie Foods is great way to lose weight.Check out http://loseweightsite.net It has an article on Negative Calorie Foods and to monitor your calorie consumption and daily activity, http://www.mypyramidtracker.gov

Any tips on how to lose weight? -

Im 13 and I want to lose weight for the physical test next year. Any good tips will be deeply apreciated.

Hey man, I m tired so ignore the upcoming horrific slaughtering of the language of english that we both communicate with. I recently lost 70 pounds, and it wasn t as hard as you think, seriously. Something I did was tell myself everyday I can do this! I m better than this! and I did. I knew I would. You have to stick to a good diet program (I recommend www.sparkteens.com, free and very effective) and get an exercise program, and with the right mindset the pounds will roll off. It was a journey for me, but it never got hard, I was never alone. If you ever need help you can contact me on SparkTeens, my username is Mfisch018.I m only 17, so I know how it is. I wish you best of luck! I recommend renting, or buying the movie the secret it s all about positive thinking, imagine weight loss while you watch the movie, it is what I believe allowed me to finish my goals :). Good night!

How to lose weight in a month.......?!?! Please answer! =]? -

NO adverstising of programs or web sites please. Neverm ind the reason why (looong story haha) but I need to lose about 10kg in a month. 5 minumum. how to do this? What if I go to the gym every day for an hour or so and eat totally healthy?

for a workable diet - here is what my dietician suggests - follow a practical diet. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50 per cent veg, 25 per cent carb. potatoes, corn and peas come in carbs category. 25 per cent protein.this will prevent cravings too.an occassional treat is OK. have a snack every three hours. fruit ,ideally berries, or soy nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. have a protein shake too, if you want. it will fight the fat and give you extra energy to exercise. switch from white rice and bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Needless to say, NO soda, chips, cookies! Lose a kilo a week. that is permanent loss. pick an exercise regime you like. get a pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps everyday.

have you tried the Lil Jack workout http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TKCGe2Ezr

This is how to lose weight fast and in a healthy way? -

GO VEGETARIAN!Zomg. So many people ask how do I lose weight . Its amazing how many people are starving themselves or paying for plans that may or may not work.STOP COUNTING CALORIES PEOPLE! Meat has straight up FAT in it. If you stop eating it, you are cutting down a huge percentage of your fat intake. Substitute protein you are missing out on with tofu and texturized protein. Even veggie burgers etc. DON T STARVE YOUR SELF! The more you eat, the better your metabolism you get. You know what makes it better? Exercise! Do leg lifts, life small weights at home! Do jumping jacks! Just simple little things will help you.I m 5 3 and I used to weight 125lbs. A few months after being vegetarian I went down to 110. I didn t mean to lose weight, it just happened. Now I fluctuate between 105 and 110.I DON T EVEN EXERCISE! Imagine your results if you added light exercise! HOLY MOLEY. SEXY BODY COMIN THRU!If you go vegetarian, make sure to take multi vitamins too!

I ve been vegetarian for a month now and LOVE IT ?I m going vegan soon though. And I m taking my vitamins like a good boy :D

yay!!!

If you combine other foods you can get good vegetable protein without tofu. For one thing you can get some from dairy products if you aren t going vegan. Not everyone likes tofu and there are other ways. There s tons of info online but this is a real good article http://www.passionatevegetarian.com/prot

u have no idea wat u talking about. MEAT DOES NOT CONTAIN FAT U IDIOT!!!! meat contains protein and is good for ur body. specially red meat and skinless chicken. depends wat meat u eat. of u eat bacon and fried stuff than yes FAT FAT FAT, but if u eat steaks and tuna and chicken and salmon than u hav nothing to worry about, u can only gain muscle and feel good. get ur facts strait

How to lose weight in the legs and hips? -

I am 5 9 and at 182 pounds. I am trying to lose weight, mainly in the leg and hip area. I do squats, running, cycling, all that good stuff targeted for that area. I have lost a total of 18 pounds so far, but my hips are still big. I do have hypothyroidism but it is under control now. I only eat 1000 calories a day, any help would be great!

Fat burns evenly throughout. If you do any exercise, then it will burn fat throughout your body. You do not need to target your legs or hips when working out. However, doing interval sprints are good for toning the muscles in your hips as well as burning fat.So once you burn some fat, the toned muscle helps the legs to look better. I recommend interval sprints (as mentioned above) as well as weight lifting. Don t worry, you won t bulk up unless you go crazy and do steroids.Weight lifting burns fat during your workout and then burns more calories later as your body works to recover the muscle.Sometimes, you may just have larger hips because of genetics. In that case, learn to love what you have. Some people wish they could have more curvy legs. Some are stuck with bony-ness. You seem on the right track, just keep it up!

Spot reducing is no possible. Your body adds and removes fat is specific locations. Everyone is different. Just lose weight and eventually it will come off the right places.

Spot reducing (losing weight in one specific area) is impossible. Keep doing what you re doing now and you ll see results eventually.

WATER helps alot. I lost fifteen pounds by drinking more water and eating less

How to lose weight by ketogenic diet? -

what do u have 2 eat to go into ketosis??what makes u get out of ketosis??and x]can anyone give me a 1 week diet of what to eat on a ketogenic diet?(i would like it better if people that actuallt tried AND lost weight from this diet to answer)thanks

@spalmer: Since when does a ketogenic diet require starvation? I end up starving later on my normal diet (not that great) if I include lots of rice or bread (carbs). Also, a proper ketogenic diet is low in fat as well and high in both protein and fiber. Grilled chicken with broccoli is a perfect example of this.Anyways, yes, ketogenic diets work well as long as you eat the proper things, just like any other diet. I prefer ketogenic diets over others, because they keep you fuller longer using relatively small portions. It s recommended to drink lots of water as well and helps to take a multivitamin every day just in case. Basically fish/chicken/lean beef and any non-starchy vegetables (corn, potatoes are out) are good choices to include in your diet. Almonds are good to snack on between meals and lunchmeat/cheese wraps work well also. Combine this diet with exercise and you can easily lose 2-3 pounds a week, depending on your size. Increase the amount of protein you consume if you want to build muscle. If you want to get in ketosis, minimize your carb intake to around 30-60 a day. To get out, simply eat carbs again.

Actually, if you research any of the websites that pops up when you google ketogenic diet they all say that it is HIGH in fat and that it cause the body to go into starvation which is why you burn fat before carbs. I have seen this diet in action for many years (12) for a client (severe seizures) Report Abuse

My first question would be are you crazy? The ketogenic diet is a starvation diet that is very high in fat and is used to control severe seizures disorders. Why on earth would you use it to lose weight? Exercise and eat right, instead of trying to starve yourself.
