Anyone have any opinions good or bad about Curves for Women? -

I am interested in joining Curves for Women Gym. I have heard and read a few good things about their 6 week Weight Loss program or it may be called the 6 week Challenge Program. Anyone a member there or was a member have any incite on this gym? Prices-contract length s-can you go to all or just 1 of the locations? Details good and bad please. =)

Its really hard. I tried it once and nearly passed out, and I was in pretty good shape at the time. You do a minute of exercise, at a very fast pace, and then switch machines for 30 minutes. I think I finished 5 minutes! You can get a visitors pass and they will tell you all about the rules and fees. The people in the one I visited were very nice, but I am just not cut out for the pace. No matter where you go, GOOD LUCK! Its hard to get started, but once you do you will feel great!

the curves program is good for women who can benefit from a VERY structured exercise program. i did not like it because you can not personalize your workout by adding resistance to machines, or going around the circuit as many times as you see fit. it is 30 dollars a month with a seventy five dollar start up fee if you sign a year contract. if you opt out of the contract for a non medical reason you have to pay 10 dollars a month for the remainder of the contract. i think you can pay month to month but the monthly rate is higher and i think the sign on fee is higher too. on the positive side, it is effective and they make sure you are doing the exercises with correct form for safety and effectiveness.

Need help for healthy weight-loss.? -

I m 25 , 5 7 , 160-164 lbs, and pear shaped (smaller on top, small bust, fuller hips, butt legs). I lost 20 lbs late last year and have maintained this new weight for about 6 months but I ve got several reasons for wanting to lose more weight...I obviously want to get healthier and be fit, I m going to the beach in late May, I m in a wedding in June AND...my husband and I want to start trying to have a baby later this year. So, I really want to lose around 25 lbs. But, that number isn t as important to me as losing the inches. I want to tone my upper body and need to figure out how to lose mega inches in my hips, butt thighs. I just bought a gym membership and my plan is to spend 1 hour there 3 days a week...20-40 minutes on the eliptical and/or bike and the remainder of the time using the weight machines. Will that be sufficient or should I do a different routine? Also, I know I have a relatively slow metabolism, are there any safe supplements I should look into?

Going to the gym is a good start. But you should watch in what order you do your workout. If you want to build muscle mass (which you do, even though youre female, i ll explain why in a minute), and lose fat, you should only do about 5-8 minutes of cardio prior to your workout, then hit the weights for however long your routine is, and then spend another half hour on cardio. You don t want to burn out on cardio before you lift. You should also try to build some muscle mass (this may make your weight stay the same, but you ll notice the difference visually). The reason for this is because the more muscle mass your body has on it, the more calories your body burns, even at rest. And you don t have to worry about looking all muscular and stuff right away, it really doesn t happen like that, bodybuilders and powerlifters have to work months and years to get their physique like that. So just beginning with light weights is a good start. There are plenty of safe supplements out there as well for boosting your metabolism, but I wouldn t take that route unless it was your last alternative. CLA is actually really awesome, it s all natural too. You can read about it if u want, i linked it in my sources. And remember, when youre trying to lose weight in your midsection, to avoid weighted exercises and a lot of the side bends, and twisting exercises will actually increase your waist size, because rather than toning your obliques, you will build them up. To work your obliques you should to crunches with your feet crossed and off the ground, going up to alternating sides, and also reverse crunches are great. Lift your legs into the air straight up, and then pick our butt up off the ground.Don t forget, if you start a workout routine, you will also need to change what you put in your body. If you are feeling a lot of stress and soreness in your muscles, you re not getting enough protein. And also watch where your carbs come from. Avoid bread carbs, and try and get them from a healthier source, such as broccoli, cauliflower, or even rice.I hope this helps some, if you have any questions feel free to email me.

Do a search for Slow Burn Workout. It s a method where you are absolutely not allowed to sweat during the workout, and you slowly (up to 30 seconds for one rep) lift and lower weights until you can t do any more reps. You do it once a week.It hits your body in a different way than a standard workout, and helps you get around some of the limitations you run into once your body gets used to a particular type of workout. It s a great way to get past any plateaus you may have hit.Zebahttp://www.jigsawaday.com

You may want to educate yourself on eating write and work at providing your body with what s need. You should make sure balance is key when making a change. Water, tea, fiber, veggies are some of the things that will make a difference. cutting back on sugar, sugar substitutes, junk foods, starches, preservatives, and MSG is a good start. Need a little diet help please....? -

Okay, I am 5 feet 4 inches, and currently weigh 168 pounds. I began on January 2(my New Years resolution, per se) of this year at 205, but I have reached a plateau that has lasted about a month now. I have done many different things so far, such as not drank pop, tried avoiding juices, coffees, teas high on sugur, etc., eat healthier(such as raw carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower), I try to choose wheat or whole grain whenever possible for meals, and I began working out a few months ago, and now run 1 and a half miles a day, lift 40 pounds of weight on my arms, use a StairMaster at lvl 4 intensity for 20 minutes, and use other various exercise machines to try and lose weight all around my body. I have become extremely frustrated, and do not understand what more I can do. My goal weight is to be around 135 pounds, but I can t seem to overcome my weight problems in the 160-170 pound range. Is there anything I can do to change my workout or diet to help my weight loss get back on track....And I don t want the Acai berry diet or any other fad diets either, just healthy weight loss advice that everyone else has used. Thank you to everyone that responds!

Diet and exercise, for diet NO salt or sugar, drink only water, eat low fat, medium carbs and protein. Stay away from processed foods like rice white bread and pasta. No fried fast foods or junk food. For exercise - Cardio will burn all the fat you need, running, bicycling, elliptical, rowing machine and DVD aerobis. I like the aerobics as your body will never get used to it and hit a plateau. Dont fall for the supplements either, they do not work, they are only caffeine and will only hurt you. Acia berry is an antioxident and has been proven not to do anything for fat burning. It is the same as a blueberry. Just an antioxident. Only diet and exercise will help you to lose weight and become healthier.

Take it from me - acai works! There s a free trial happening at the moment at http://dequls.mykeepfitpro.info , give it a try, why not?

What weight loss products work the best? -

I m looking for a weight loss product that will really help me lose weight. Im not looking to spend heaps of money on some dodgey product that doesnt work.

I know about this one product and its the best I could find and the good part is that you can try it for free!

I work for a wellness company that combines science and natural ingredients and we have some great stuff that is actually good for you AND works. I have tried it too! Email me for more info. I can even give you a consult. Report Abuse

Hypnosis is the trend It works is easy, relaxing, safe, natural permanent! I ve hypnotized people for over 17 yrs it works even if you don t think it will. You can read up on it on my website-find you a good hypnotherapist in your area that has experience success. www.TheHypnosisQueen.com Report Abuse

Some of the best weight loss products are actually foods. High quality protein (meat, fish, eggs) for example not only increases satiety (decreases appetite so you eat less - without suffering) but actually appears to increase metabolism and help burn fat. Calcium also stimulates weight loss - particularly if you get your calcium from dairy products. (The specific amino acid combination in the whey portion of dairy seems to be responsible for this effect).Other than that there are some prescription medications like Phentermine and Phen-Pro that help with appetite if you find hunger to be a problem. I don t recommend non-prescription products that are advertized as appetite suppressants because, for the most part, they don t seem to work. As for supplements, there are also a handful that MAY help with weight loss - like L-carnitine. Dont expect miracles from them though. They may help you lose an extra 4 or 5 pounds, but that s about all. I discuss many of these, as well as good and bad foods for weight loss on my website if you are interested in more. (Its not a commercialized site...just informational)B. Schibly MDwww.physicians-weight-loss-tips.com

My advice would be stay away from all weight loss products, ive been reading up on a lot of them and nine times out of ten they do more harm than good. What a lot of people don t realize is that they can have very long lasting bad side effects and only very short good effects,if any! As soon as you stop taking them you will just start to put the weight back on, they are not a long term solution. The best thing to do is change your lifestyle, might sound easy said than done, but trust me it s not, i ve done it! I just started to eat healthier and did abit of exercise, like walking to work, the weight soon started to drop off and not just that, i started to feel really good about myself. Try it, it does work.

Hello there. The main trick to weight loss is ofcourse that you eat healthy food and excersize not to much but ofcourse not to little. Me my self went through this package at the start i weight around 241lbs and now or 8 months from that i m 198lbs i tryd alot of weight loss packages that i bought on the internet and yea some of them worked a little but when i started using Proactol i really started to loose weight i have only been excersizing 3-4 times a week for the past months eating healthy food but that product Proactol i really recommend. Ill give you a link to it if you do not mind you can read about it and see if you like it. Good luck ;-)

NO Products , HARMFULLUsually Most Kids need to have fun to want to loose weight , im 15 and i hate it . i also want to loose weight , wanna know how i did it last year ?Do you have a playstation 2 ?! well i do and i got the game DDR (dance dance revolution), i would play that ALL day with my friends ,and that made me sweat Alot! and i would drink nothing but water .than you can keep going . try it , its easy a fun ! ! ! ! !heres a liittle diet thingie . . . .if you wanna drop food from your diet like breakfast lunch dinner , i have to say ALWAYS eat breakfast (they call it breakfast for a reason) when you are sleeping , your in a process called Fasting , where you do not eat , (if you do not eat your food after sleeping, your still fasting , and is verharmfulll to your body)so every morning please break that fasting . PLUS my health teacher said if you do not eat in the morning , you gain more weight . for breakfast , have a all grain cereal a piece of fruit and a glass of milk .for lunch eat atat leastne piece o fruit and like a ham sandwich.for dinner have a piece of meat the size of your palm and veggies or whatever (im not pro)maybe tyake a dance class! that would help . ( plus you will be amazing at dancing all cause of that DDR . :D

Nowadays you see all those weightloss programs like Weightwatchers coming out and saying that you can eat pizza hamburgers lasagna etc on the diets and still lose weight. And that is completely true. What you eat matters, but how much you eat is even more important. You first need to find your basal metabolic rate. This is the number of calories your body uses per day to perform its basic, everyday, life sustaining functions such as maintaining liver and kidney function, keeping the heart beating, breathing, etc. Thats what you need to just stay alive. For me that s about 2000. I absolutely need that or I will feel weak and tired and eventually go into starvation mode b4 dying. Then if I m Sedentary all day, like a desk job,go home ,sleep, I ll multiply my bmr times 1.2 (2000 * 1.2) If I m lightly active (light exercise after work 1-3 times a week), then I multiply by 1.3. My number is about 1.3. So the amount of calories I need a day just to stay the same weight is 2600.(2000* 1.3). There s 3500 calories in one pound of fat. There s 7 days in a week. So to lose one pound of fat in a week, you need to create a deficit of 500 calories a day in your body. So if I eat 2100 calories a day, for one week, I will lose one pound of fat. http://www.freedomfly.net/Articles/Nutri http://walking.about.com/cs/calories/l/b I ve always been a why guy. I need to have a scientific explanation of why something works. And when I began to have weight problems I decided to check out the Internet. OMG. There are literally millions of different ways, means, websites, exercises, pills, teas, books, meditations, Techniques. I even saw a weightloss bubblegum. There s is one commonality in all of them though. And that is the caloric deficit, bmr, and exercise theory. And websites like calorieking.com make it easy. You can find how many calories is in a slice of pizza from pizza hut, dominoes, in a cut of bacon, a happy meal, anything! And I lost weight the healthy way. There was a guy on National Geographic who ate less than he needs, did martial arts training 3-4 hours a day and was still 400 pounds overweight. They couldn t explain it. But they did find out that his brain had an imprinted mechanism that kept his weight at a preset level; like a thermometer on a thermostat. Genetic coding causes that. Who knows, he could ve had Eskimos in his ancestry line. They do need the extra fat. And that code, which was dormant in the parent, could have been activated in him. To me,there are people who are walking up on stairs. If they step up, they ll go up, step down, they ll go down, stand still they won t go anywhere. There are those on an up escalator. They don t even need to try and they go up. But it is a heck of a lot more difficult to go down. And there are those on the down escalator trying to go up. They need to keep moving just to stay in the same place. And they need some real, consistent, gut wrenching effort, just to move up two steps. But you know what, they all reach the top (eventually). Once there, and you step off that escalator, all the odds are now the same. Who would you say is in the best shape? Good luck!

I lost 30 pounds in 6 months with a 100% all natural weight loss product that you can order for fairly inexpensive online. It s called Shapefast Ultra at:www.4lifetransferfactorstore.comOf course nothing works without some discipline with diet and exercise, but it curbed my appetite, increased my energy, and kick started my metabolism. Good luck!

That is a real good question to ask! Every second person got a new product or something that works! The best advice is to browse through YouTube videos and see what works for some people. Beware of the scams there as well.Programs that work are mostly excises programs any thing that gets you active will work. Some names that you can look up are 12 week weight loss or 3 moths weight loss. And things like that. There is a program P90x that is very good and it will work, if you are dedicated to lose weight it will work for you and if you are looking at diet pills and that kind of weight loss programs I will recommend Herbal Life. And if you are skint and need some cheap alternatives that work well and you get like a free trail to test it see the resource link below.

The basics of weight loss are not as complicated as people make it out to be. You need to simply change your diet to healthy whole foods, fruits and veggies and get plenty of exercise. This is hard to do for most of us because we are tempted with junk foods all the time. If you want a structured diet plan that will tell you the types of food that you can eat and when you should eat them you can find diet plans that will do that at http://www.bestonlineweightloss.comGood luck.

I suggest you eat less, don t skip meals. Do more exercise. Drink more water. Get a weight loss regime.

Weight loss hypnosis program helps you loss the weight you want and keep it off forever.

When I was trying to lose weight after my third child, I used Acai Ultra Burn and lost over 40 lbs. I ve been able to keep all that weight off for over 6 months.

Tony Ferguson. You can get it from Terry White chemists. A girl I knew did it last year and lost 20kgs.

Diet and exercise. Green tea. Lots of fiber. Lots of water.

No one ever answers my questions! :(? -

I had a health assessment and was instructed to do 40 minutes of cardio 3 days a week for a healthy weight loss. I m having a hard time doing it consecutively. If I have to stop to catch my breath for 10-15 seconds every 15-20 minutes rather than being able to do it all at once will the workout be less effective? What if I do 20 minutes in the morning and 20 in the evening?

it would be best to go 40min straight, but if you honestly can t do that then I dont see the harm in taking a quick break (a few seconds max and no getting off the machhine!!!) or doing 20 min in the morning and 20 at night. This is for you re health I m assuming, so as long as you get in the required minutes you ll be fine. If it were for weight loss on the other hand it would have to be all 40min consecutively to be effective.

Don t kill your self, try and walk if the weather is nicer. walk a block or two then walk a little faster for two blocks. Keep switching your pace. you will be able to go longer than 40 minutes and your not looking at the tv treadmill. You may meet someone and get some fresh air at the same time.

Doing 20mins in the morning and 20mins at night is just as effective as doing it all at the same time.Or if you lose your breath maybe just do it at a slower pace and do it for an extra 10mins or something.
