Im 14, .. is this healthy ? -

Ok , so I m 14 and around 250 pounds .. give or take . I m about 5 7-5 8 .. I know my weight isn t healthy one but I m starting to work on it .. I go to school and walk up stairs everyday .. so how much weight could I lose from now - February or March ? and will it be a healthy weight loss ?

Walking up the stairs is a good start, but you should walk 1-2 hours every day. Go to my pyramid, I m providing a link, enter your weight and other stats, and Good Luck!

Well you gave no information on exactly how much you exercise, but just taking the stairs everyday isn t enough. You need to control your diet and stay away from fast foods, grease, junk food, etc. Also eat frequent small portions, rather than one big meal per day. Make time for easy exercises like sit ups and light jogging for about a mile or two a day. How much weight you lose depends on how strict of a diet and exercise plane you make for youself.

It s going to take a LOT more than just walking up and down the school steps to become healthy. Try jogging, sit ups, push ups, treadmill, and other activities to help lose weight. Also, begin a healthy diet if you haven t done so already, and maintain it. There s this website released several years ago called www.mypyramid.com, it gives specific details based on your age, weight, and amount of physical activity to become and stay healthy.

Lose the weight now, before you get any older so you do not have stretch marks and loose skin and miss the supposedly healthiest years of your life. Walking upstairs isn t enough. Start by walking 30 minutes everyday until you can get it to a run. Then start adding other exercise to your routine. Never touch fast food again. Survive solely on fruits and vegetables (you can eat as much of that as you want) and unbreaded fish, no treats. No bread, no cereal. One treat is a slippery slide to many treats. Ask your mom to get you these things. Explain the benefits. If you are female your target weight is 130-145, depending on your build, breast size, etc. If you are male it is 145-170. In three months you could healthily lose, at the most, 50 pounds. Good luck!

Like many people world wide you are at an unhealthy weight, how much you loose per week is really up to you. I would say the first 2-3 weeks are the hardest. Most people say 1-2 lbs a week is healthy, I know I ve lost more in a week but it depends on you and how much your willing to push your self. check out thedailyplate.com / armstrong.com. They will allow you to track your calories consumed and burned, as well as talk to other people who are trying to loose weight. I also recently bought a book by jillian from the biggest looser its for burning off the last few lbs some intense workout circuits in there. You have made the first step, now the next few will be the hardest after that a healthy eating and exercise become a way of life. On average 3 hours of exercise a week will maintain a healthy weight, 5 will cause a weight loss. You could reasonably loose anywhere from 30-50lbs if your willing to keep up with it.

ok im 15 and lost +30 pounds over the summer. i went from 236 to 203.try not to eat potato, rice, bread, pasta, and SODA. its ok to eat these a few times, but i recommend; brown rice- sweet potato- wholegrain pasta- and whole wheat bread. it may not taste good, but it will definately fill u up.walking around ur house or town wont do much. although it may be a little costly- join a gym. $45 for 1 month? may be a little costly, but its for ur healthuse the elliptical machine for 30-45 minutes. take ur ipodand walk on a treadmill with an incline.BIKING IS A WASTE OF TIME!! they will only burn 5 calories a minute- whereas ellipticals/treadmills 10+ calories a minute.try to burn 600 calories, yet eat only 1500 GOOD calories.600 calories could be burned by 1 hr on ellptical/treadmill, or even by playing sports with ur friends..dont expect to lose a lot fast! first 10 pounds will just fly off, after that it gets hardsitups-i havent seen any results on myselfDO A LOT OF PUSHUPS!!! 3 sets of 12, 3 times a daysugary drinks- waste of calories, drink water!!

what do you eat??i m afraid walking upstairs alone isn t going to cut it. you have to work out. walk around the neighborhood, jog a bit. lift wieghts. cut out all soda, fruit juices, sugary drinks. start eating vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and low fat meats like chicken and fish and cut out some prepackaged processed foods and sugar.but yeah the main thing is get enough exsersise

well i dont noe why people always say dont go on a diet it not good for teenagers bullshit...im 14 too an i was 201 lbs two months ago and now im 110 and all i did was go crazy about not eating, i didnt eat breakfast , and wen i kame home 4rm skool i drank water, and watched tv and soon the hungry feeling became a stomac massach for me, oh and somtimees wen i felt lyk trating myself i ate half an apple well i hope i kould help and good luck

you BMI is about 39.2. 40 is considered morbidly obese and 30 or more is obese. How much you can loose in a certain time is an indivitual thing that cannot be determined until you do it-you definetly should try to loose some weight though.

2-4 lb per week would be okay on average, but if you exercise and eat right, at your height and weight it would be okay to lose more like 10 pounds per week for the first couple of weeks, then it should level out more.

Obesity. You re overweight. Going to school and walking up the stairs? That ll get you nowhere. You need diet and exercise. Or else you not going to get anywhere.

I m sorry, but walking upstairs everyday isn t enough.Join a running club..or just run on your own. Jump on a trampoline, do yoga..ect..Improve your diet, too.

impossible to tellif you eat a whole shitload then u may not lose anyif you eat right do more exercise then listed etc, maybe like 30-40 pounds?

just try walking more and not eating as much.you can loose a few pounds a week.good luck. (:

No! You are obeast! You need to loose 100 pounds!

you need to do more than walk up stairs.

I don t think it will make too much of a difference to be honest. You should try working out in addition.Good luck! :)

HOLY **** NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LIPOSUCTION MAN!!!!!!!!!!

depends if you are a boy or girl

Green Tea? -

I ve incorporated green tea into my weight loss program (along with diet and exercise). Doe this tea act as a diuretic or a metabolism boost or is it all just a bunch of bull?!

It is not diuretic, but is full of antioxidents. However, if can interfere with Folic Acid absorption. If thats important to you. Maybe it isnt :)

think it works because i used to drink loads if it but i stopped cuz i gt board and i started eating loads of junk food

Anything with caffeine in it acts as a laxative, and it really is good for your metabolism. Green tea is a healthy addition to a diet.

Jenny Craig Vs. Weight Watchers? -

I ve successfully lost 42 lbs on Atkins, but I have about 40 more left... wanting to convert to a healthier weight loss style option and I have narrowed it down to two choices. Please let me know what your experiences are with each: weight watchers vs. jenny craig. Pricing; motivating factors; pros and cons? Thanks so much!!!!!

I ve done both of them. Each of them was successful (though I gained the weight back within 3-5 years - which is why I needed to try both!). Which is better depends on you. Weight Watchers is healthier, because it teaches you to make good choices. Thus, even after you finish, you can still put what you learned to use to maintain your goal weight. But Jenny Craig is better if you really lack self-control, because you don t have to make as many choices -- you just eat the food they give you.Don t worry too much about which one to choose -- just get started!

I lost 40 pounds on weight watchers.I felt great, I could eat whatever I wanted and I could even snack on free foods through the day. ( Or low point foods) Vegetables are low point foods. It helps you learn to cook better, and eventually you learn to ear healthier. The first few weeks are terrible, just as it is with any diet, and writing everything down is annoying. But you get used to it.

I was in similar situation. I had lost 35 lbs on my own and was just staying there. 3 Months ago I joined Jenny Craig and lost 30 more lbs with 20 more to my goal. Is Jenny expensive sure worth it I would have to say yes. I like Jenny cause I just didnt have the time to be counting points etc like with weight watchers. You have to buy their food but it really wasnt all that different than your normal grocery bill weekly. It teached you more about portion control so when you go to regualr food you adapt. Jenny has different options as well it terms of pricing plans. Good Luck to you.

Medical professionals please answer only!? -

do lipotropic injections (used in medically supervised weight loss programs) have any known side effects? im finding literally NOTHING online (except mixed reviews). my potential doctor s office receptionist knows nothing. i refuse to waste my time making an appointment if they cant tell me the info prior to coming in. the office is far, and im too busy for that nonsense. lol.

There is almost nothing that can dissolve fat cells. So, it depends on what is used in that particular office s injection. Some use B12 - it is just the vitamin, will not hurt you, but will not get rid of your fat cells either. HCG is used in small doses also. That helps reduce the size of the fat cell, dot get rid of it. Pretty effective, but better eating habits and exercise are also helpful. Especially exercise. HCG and exercise combo is extremely effective. One of the possible side effects - break through vaginal spotting after 1st or 2nd injection for females; mild breast tenderness for males.

Injections, pills, potions, high protien drinks, and all that is gimmicky is not the answer to a healthy weight loss, sure you will lose weight but you will also lose your health and inhibit your metabolism to keep you at a healthy weight.Find out how many calories u need to maintain your weight, then reduce your calories by 500 per day, then u need to get some exercise, if you cant walk try swimming or just walking up and down a pool, also lift some weights to build some muscle, the more muscle you carry the more efficient your body becomes at burning calories.Be patient, you can t lose in 2 months what it s taken you years to put on, plus the fact fast weight loss will leave you feeling exhausted and and feeling unhealthy.Eat 5 small meals a day, divide your allocated calories by 5, choose low fat proteins, vegetables, and salads, go easy on breads, rice, pasta, and don t eat your carbs at night.Purchase a diary and list what your meals are going to be for the next day and stick to that days plan so that u have time to shop and prepare your food, join an online weight loss program, there are lots of them in Yahoo and MSN. or join a local weight loss group where you can be weighed each week and receive support.I know it s not easy I have a real struggle keeping my weight under control but with these few hints I manage.Cheers and goodluck

Diet help please....? -

Okay, I am 5 feet 4 inches, and currently weigh 168 pounds. I began on January 2(my New Years resolution, per se) of this year at 205, but I have reached a plateau that has lasted about a month now. I have done many different things so far, such as not drank pop, tried avoiding juices, coffees, teas high on sugur, etc., eat healthier(such as raw carrots, broccoli, and cauliflower), I try to choose wheat or whole grain whenever possible for meals, and I began working out a few months ago, and now run 1 and a half miles a day, lift 40 pounds of weight on my arms, use a StairMaster at lvl 4 intensity for 20 minutes, and use other various exercise machines to try and lose weight all around my body. I have become extremely frustrated, and do not understand what more I can do. My goal weight is to be around 135 pounds, but I can t seem to overcome my weight problems in the 160-170 pound range. Is there anything I can do to change my workout or diet to help my weight loss get back on track....And I don t want the Acai berry diet or any other fad diets either, just healthy weight loss advice that everyone else has used. Oh, and by the by, I m 20 years old if that helps. Thank you to everyone that responds!

Here is your problem. You should not be just eating wheat and whole grains. You should be balancing your meals! You should be learning how food affects your hormonal system. If you eat all carbohydrates, your body will go into a insulin-high, and you will constantly be storing fat. You should be balancing your protein, fats, and carbohydrates. You must first find out your Lean Body Mass, and ONLY FEED THAT! You do NOT need to feed your fat! To find your LBM, you use this site to find your body fat. http://www.healthcentral.com/cholesterol/home-body-fat-test-2774-143.html. Then, you subtract your weight by your body fat weight (your weight times your percent body fat). Then, you find your protein requirements (in grams) by multiplying your LBM by your activity level (.5 for sedentary, .6 for a little active, .7 for mild exercise each day, .8 for running each day, .9 for strenuous exercise, 1.0 for an olympic athlete). Then, using that, you find your carbohydrate needs by setting up a proportion (9gcarbs/7gprotein= xgcarbs/requirementforproteingprotein), and solve for x. You do the same thing for fat, except substitute 1.5 for 9.0. Then, you create a meal plan, only eating those amounts of each of the macronutrients. You should then lose weight, as you will balance out your eicosenoids, which will balance out your hormonal system, which will allow you to access your stored body fat and burn that for energy, hence losing body fat. (You may actually gain weight, but lose body fat. You will still look way better if you gain weight and lose body fat, so don t be surprised if you follow this type of plan, you gain weight but drop dress seizes.) Good luck! Yanksfan103@hotmail.com

Difference between Phentermine and Phentramin...? -

I have tried everything to lose weight and my doctor does a weight loss program so I decided to see what it was about. He gave me appetite suppressants with A-167 printed on each pill and they are half white half light/medium blue...I was wondering if they were phentermine or phentramin..or even phentramine (unless that s just another way of spelling phentramin)...I ve seen all 3 online and i was wondering if they are all legal and just more info before i start taking them. THANKS!

YES there is a difference between the two!!!!! Based on my own research Phentermine has far better weight loss results then Phentramine. I m sorry, bou you may heve been ripped off.I ordered my phentermine on 4/19/07 from a website called US-Pills.com. I received my order yesterday, 4/25/06, and started taking it today. I can tell already that it works!!!! I have not been hungry all day and had very little cravings for bad foods. When I did eat today it was very little and healthy foods. I went to the gym about 30 minutes after I took it and had more energy then before. However, the extra energy didn t last all day for me, which is good because I was afraid I would feel wired all day. The only side effect I have felt so far is dry mouth, so I ve been drinking a lot of water, which is great. I drank about 30 oz of water alone during my workout.I purchased 90 pills (37.5 dosage) for $199.00. US-Pills.com was the cheapest site I could find without a doctors prescription. Compared to the other sites 199.00 for 90 pills is great. The other thing I was happy about with this site is that there was a health questionaire I had to fill out when submitting my order to get approval from the web sites doctor. Based on my answers to the questionaire, which included my height and current weight, my order was approved and came with instructions on how much to take per day. The instructions directed me to take one pill per day in the morning before breakfast.I am very pleased with my first day results and can t wait to see how much weight I lose in the next few days and weeks. I hope to lose about 25 - 30 pounds.Hope this was helpful. Good luck!!!

phentramin is just a scam, it doesnt work at all Report Abuse

shouldn t be any difference unless it is the strength.some phentermine is time released.there is a phentremine on the market too that is over the counter with hoodia.
