Is there a way to lose weight fast? -

Is it even possible to lose 10 pounds it is Dec. 15, 2008 and i want to lose the 10 pounds by jan. 25 is it possible if so How thankssss NO NASTY REMARKS THANKS

it all depends on your body. my mom went to weight watchers, and has lost pretty much 20 pounds in 2 weeks. some of the things she eats are like..Breakfast:1/2 cup of egg substitute1 peice of weithwatchers toast1/2 cup of yogurt1 water bottleLunch:weithwatchers wrap with tuna, and whatever in ita small portion of microwave steamed beans,carrots,brocoli ect.an apple or orange, or banana1 water bottleDinner:little slice of steak, or pork, or chickenmicrowave steamed veggiesapple sauce, or jello, or pudding1 water bottleIf you keep eating things like that similar to what i just said then you should be losing weight:) Because your only losing weight when your eating right! so make sure you eat eat eat! I need a lose weight fast plan...what to eat and do... and I dont exactly have much time do do it...??? -

I work mon thru friday and have difficulty eating right and finding time to excercise... I am over my desired/healthy weight and would like to lose 20 pounds total...I want a healthy way to lose the weight though...nothing that will harm me or my body.I have pilates and yoga tapes to work with and can walk at a near by park as work out options... of course any other recommendations you have for working out in my home (different excercises) would be helpful too... any ideas please throw them my way...:) thanks.

These are my thoughts as a physician and athlete.Don t target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. If you try to lose faster, your body will go into starvation mode and get very stingy about burning calories while at the same time very efficient about storing any calories that you do provide. And it will make you feel awful. There is no site specific way of losing fat... the old myth about working your abs to burn belly fat isn t true. To get rid of love handles, you need to lose overall fat. That happens with exercise and watching your diet. More on that below. The most effective way to lose fat is aerobic exercise in the moderate fat-burning range, ideally first thing in the morning before you eat. When you wake your body is ready to burn fat and your levels of growth hormone are highest at that time. Later in the day it can take up to 30 minutes just to put your body into a fat-burning mode. Another overlooked way to burn fat is by lifting weights. Skeletal muscle has very high caloric needs... almost twice that of adipose (fat) tissue. Put on a little muscle and you will burn calories all day even at rest. Be aware that skeletal muscle weighs more, so with this approach you may see your weight increasing while your body fat is melting away. Not realizing this often stresses folks who think they should be losing weight as a measure of fitness. Forget the scale, look in the mirror and you will be happy.To lose a pound of fat, you need to eliminate about 3500 calories. You can do this by burning more with exercise or by modifying your diet to reduce intake. If you do a Google search on say, swimming calories you will quickly find a website with tables of calories burned for a given exercise. You can use such lists to estimate how many calories you are burning up with your routine.For diet, keep a diary for a couple of weeks counting calories, grams of protein, and grams of fat intake. It is easy with online sources of nutritional information (type the name of the food and calories into the Google search engine) and packaging labels. That will let you quickly figure out where the fat is coming from in your diet. Fat gives you 9 calories per gram. So take the number of grams of fat, multiply by 9, then calculate what percentage the fat calories are of your total daily calories. Restricting the calories from fat to about 20% of your total intake is ideal for a maintenance diet... that isn t overly restrictive. Of note, you need some fat in your diet. For instance, the body uses fat to produce hormones. Once you have a picture of how to modify your diet, you can drop the diary and just go back to it occasionally if you are wanting to tweek things further.There is a subset of questions that goes further and asks about How to get a six-pack? The answer is the same. Six-packs are 20% abdominal exercise and 80% diet. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the core is active which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. I target about 0.8 g of protein per pound of body weight each day when actively building. That is far more protein than most people need in their diets.Aloha

You might think about trying this book called The Movie Star Diet by Steve Simmons. It helped me lose thirty pounds in 2 1/2 months when I didn t think anything would work. My goal to begin with was only 20 lbs! It has a really easy plan to follow and an excellent workout as well.

Weight Watchers is a good plan, you can join or do an on line program or go to meetings...www.weightwatchers.com and it sound like you have the tools to exercise. I love to run. you could also go for walks on your breaks.

You really have to look at two areas of your life and adjust them to match your goals:* Diet* ExerciseYou simply can t get around these two facts. You have to consume fewer calories than you burn each day to loose weight. So if you don t change your diet, then you ll have to exercise more. Frankly, it s easier to adjust both things. Eat less, or eat smarter and exercise moderately. You don t have to go overboard. A 20 minute walk around the block is exercise.Find someone who can share the goal with you. Another overweight friend who will walk with you. That helps a lot. Goal setting, weight training, cardio, and nutrition is KEY to losing body fat. DO NOT do the fad diets, they will fail you and cause you to lose muscle mass so when you go back to normal eating you will most likely weigh more with a higher BF%. Losing weight isn t rocket science, people just want the easy way out. When you begin you will lose probably 3-5 lbs for one maybe two weeks but a healthy weight loss is 1-2 lbs. Workout videos (I love Tae Bo!) are a good, cheap way to lose body fat. Make sure to weight train with cardio, the more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolism, and the more fat you will lose. Have fun becoming lean, you can do it!!

To lose weight (fat), include more fiberous slow digesting carbs, as opp to the fast ones, no white breads, fast foods, ketchups, sugar, only skim milk, not 2%, skim and whole grain non sweet cerial, whole wheat bread, buy some protein, include lean meats like ham, and other sources of protein, no red meats,multivitamin, calcium and vitamin d every 2 days, v8. Don t starve, eat a small healthy meal, a lot of small meals opposed to a few bigger ones-- make sure is has at least 8-10 or more g, not too much protein, the body can only digest a certain amount at a time, avoid too many fruits, carbs and sugars, fiberous veggies, greens (no starches or potatoes) are good ,and no bbq sauce (unless used sparringly) and not too much salad dressing, before bed (2 hrs), eat something with protein, dont eat many carbs before bed. starving will not work, your body actually holds onto fat longer if you starve yourself b/c it thinks it isnt going to get adiquate food later on. to loose weight ......drinks a gallon of h2o a day. do cardio 6 days a week, do weight training 5 ays a week and EAT HEALTHY!!! food high in fiber, low carb, no sugary foods, no fried foods, also not too many dairy products. Lots of chicken, broccoli, oatmeal, apples, things like that;)

Not necessarily, I can lose weight much easier now after 20 years than when I was say 15-16.......

There really is no true answer to this question, because there are too many variables. First you have to look at metabolism rate. Just because you re young doesn t mean you will lose weight quickly. Second, what about activity level. You have to take into account how many calories you take into your body versus how many calories you burn each day. Third, if you are currently at your ideal body weight according to age, sex, and BMI, then you will probably not lose weight. you could (under supervision of a doctor or nutritionist) do a Detox - it isn t pleasant and involves healthy shakes and soups, not much food and often colonic irrigation! - you may get headaches and feel very lethargic at times as you detox but you will shed excess water and some weight and feel great at the end of it!!otherwise eat lots of fruit for breakfast, soups for lunch and a small piece of fish and loads of veg for dinner, and drink as much water as you possibly can. cut out carbs, tea coffee and booze, try not to snack and stick to it for your 9 days. after that you must reintroduce carbs and dairy etc to complete a balanced diet. if you can keep off sugary fatty foods and keep active you will return to your natural healthy weight over time.

You should have started three months ago.There s no way to be noticably thinner in 9 days.But if you start now, you can be noticably thinner in 3 months, so get to it.Edit - BTW, all of ny s comment is called healthy diet and exercise and it s what you should be doing for the rest of your life. And you can t spot reduce, so just targeting your problem areas is impossible.

There are three occasions I know of where someone I know o me myself became noticeably thinne in a vey shot period.1. My friend got severe food poisoning and spent a week in hospital on a drip, could keep anything down or in. When she came out 7 days later, she was noticeably thinner.2.Another friend spent five days in South America woking fora animal sanctuay, and walked the puma around the jungle for seven hours each day. he was noticeably thinner after that.3. I once spent a long weekend in Prague, when it was below freezing, and my wallet got stolen, so I couldn t afford to eat food and spent the whole time walking around in the freezing cold. All I ate fo the thee days was an orange and a biscuit. I was noticeably thinner when I got back and my friends were shocked.Edit: Sorry my R key is stiff.

the only way to do this is to go on 4-5 hours of sleep a night and then the only things you are allowed ingest are salted herring and black coffee.you ll look great fast!
