What are some of the best ways to lose weight without doing exercise? What are some key foods you should eat and some foods to try and stay off?ThanxSam
The fastest way to lose weight is diet and exercise. HOWEVER, because of my arthritis, I was not able to do the exercising and didn t have the willpower to eat very little. So......I did my own version of the Atkins diet with my doctor s knowledge. I kept my carbs to no more than 30 a day. I ate only what was on my list and as much of each thing as I wanted. I was never hungry because there was always food I could eat. I never cheated and I lost 90 pounds. This was six years ago and since then I ve lost 10 more pounds. My foods: meat, any kind and any amount; I used large lettuce leaves as my bread to make a sandwich.hard cheeses (cheddar, colby, etc.)dill pickleseggs, any style, any amountMy own soup: pork steaks, tomato juice, cabbage, red onions, celery, carrots, spinach, parsely (any combination, any amount) I always added a LOT of creole seaonings or crushed red pepper because I like the heat!!Drinks: water, water, lemon water, iced tea, coffee, and any diet drink.NO SUGAR EVER...there s enough natural sugar in veggies.I eat regular food now but limit sugar to almost never. JUST WATCH THE CARBS while you re dieting; later keep them under control.
While excercising is always ideal, there is a way to drop weight. Usana Health Sciences has a great RESET program that is based off of foods with a low glycemic index. The glycemic index (GI) is a way of measuring the rate at which carbohydrates are broken down and appear in the blood as simple sugars. In general, the more refined and processed the food, the faster the food is broken down and the higher the GI. High GI foods act rapidly to influence blood sugar, providing quick energy. However, this energy is usually short lived and hunger soon returns often leading to overeating and weight gain. Low GI foods effect blood sugar more slowly and steadily. These foods provide greater satiety and longer lasting, more consistent energy, making eating less and maintaining weight easier.

You can cut out ALL foods with Sugar and white flour and be very successful in weight loss..
obviously by eating 500 calories less than your maintenance, say 2000 calories is what you eat to stay at the same weight, by eating 1500 calories you would lose weight, although its not recommended , you should exercise as well as eat healthy.
Try a clensing system. You can lose up to 10 lbs in 2 weeks. It is also good for your body to remove all toxins.
You might try eating more protein fiber and less processed foods starches. Not much sugar or white flour. Sunchokes ( jerusalem artichokes ) are tubers that can be cooked like potatoes but the starchis not very digestible, so they are useful as a diet food. When you get anough protein, the brain is said to signal that you don t need as much food anymore, so adequate protein can help. Very high quality fatty acids are actually useful, too. The fatty acids in cold-pressed flaxseed oil, as well as lipotropic supplements like CLA, lecithin, choline, TMG carnitine are all able to help the body to burn fat naturally, without dangerous or unpredictable consequences that may accompany some drugs or large doses of some herbals. Drinking plenty of water in helpful, too. Watch the calories, as a total, regardless where they come from, since any unused energy will go to storage as fat. Eat an ample breakfast but don t binge before bedtime, as your body needs less energy during your less-active night-time sleeping hours. Watch out for hidden calories in sweet drinks. As for fruits, bananas seem to pack the pounds on me, although somewhat nutritious, but apples seem to be much less of a problem, even helping to lose weight, I believe (-- I eat them with the peel ). For vegetables : green beans, asparagus, some broccolli, carrots, greens, cabbage brussel sprouts are good, but be careful to not overdo the last too when you re expected company or a business meeting, you know.
stay out of junk food eat fruits, vegtables, and eat low calorie things!
You can manage the portions you are eating.
stay below 2000 calories a day and you can lose 2 pounds per week.
You can NOT lose weight without exercising ... because you d be lying in bed and having someone feed you, and even then the simple act of chewing and swallowing is exercising ... but the BEST WAY to lose weight and to keep it off is to eat a good well balanced diet that is between 200-500 calories per day less than it needs for that day, and to do enough exercise to burn off slightly more calories than you would normally burn during the day. Exercising is also extremely important because that is what helps build the right muscles and also helps you to build up energy , and some exercises also help shape your muscles by stretching them out better than just sitting at the computer asking questions could do.
