How to lose weight after cardio? -

I am a female and want to lose some weight and have been running on the treadmill and want to know what else I can do besides cardio. I want to do some extra workouts after like abs to help with the weightloss after I do the cardio. Anyone got any ideas what I can do?

Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. I ve been trying for the same thing and since everyone suggests weights and I dont have any I grabbed some canned veggies out of my cabinet and did some sit ups. Try laying cans in hand with your arms above your head and legs flat-then do your situps!

So My daughter just turned a year old and i am still 12 lbs over what I was before i got pregnant. I have been trying everything. To eat healthier, avoiding white grain only eating whole wheat grains) cutting calories, but I cannot seem to find time to excercise. I do take a hip hop class dance one night a week but i know that is not enough any busy mothers have any tips?

To add to what the others have said, I would like you to think about another little something. Your baby is only one year old. That s only 12 months. Now, it s natural for the female body to want to carry a little extra weight as a preparation mechanism to become pregnant again. If you are still breast feeding you don t need to worry at all about it. If you didn t breast feed or stopped too soon, use to be mothers would breast feed for at least 2-3 years, your body is still trying to deal with that. It s the natural process the system goes through. Also, if you are no longer breast feeding, you might be on birth control which will slow down the body from reforming itself. Try to relax with the situation and see if you can give it another 6 months to pull itself together. By the way, 12lbs isn t too bad after what your body went through. You did good.

I have a teacher who was once obese. During her college, she sleeps 2 am and wakes up at 4 am. She eats bread only for lunch, but eat right during breakfast and dinner. She said breakfast and dinner are very important meals. She s always studying her lessons, and maybe due to too much work with a little rest, she s now slim.

Losing weight is difficult, however, you are lucky. You are at an age at which your metabolism is a lot faster than us older folks! One way to lose weight is to spend time doing physical things. If you can walk to school or walk at school (besides just going to classes, walk around the school in your spare time), you will burn those kilos away.
