Effective weight loss tips ? -

My friend and I are both 11. He is 150 cm tall and around 66 kilograms weight. He often feels bad that he is overweight. What can I say to inspire or cheer him up ? I need to know a few effective weight loss tips , please. I m sure my friend will be happy if I tell him how to loss weight effectively. Please help.

the best thing to do is to just not make a big deal about it. 11 years of age - soon you will be going through puberty - often the extra fat is just from your prepubescentyears. don t sweat it - hold it out - soon he will experience puberty where the hormones will hopefully provoke muscular growth and therefore more calories will be burnt each day resulting in your friend becoming slimmer gradually.

Fast, easy weight loss tips.? -

i have asked many qustins like this and havent gottne the answer i wanted yet. heres my situation. i dont like the way i look and really wanna look pretty for the begiing of the new year. the thing is i can cook, but the things that turn out well are limited. i dont have great stamina so i can run but i can dance. i also do DDR which is good. i would rather have a strict easy diet that will help me loose weight. anything and everythign is appreciated.

1.Set goals. You ll be better able to make a realistic weight loss plan if you know how much weight you want to lose. 2.Identify your weaknesses. Are you a bread fiend? Do you have dessert after every meal and every snack? Is McDonald s your second home? Find the weakness and throttle it. It does not own you, you are stronger and cooler than to allow some silly little craving to knock you off your path. 3.Throw away anything you know is tempting. Those cinnamon buns with 500 calories each? Gone. The ramen noodles in your cabinet? Gone. The problem is that this is not always feasible. Often times we are not the only ones in our homes and therefore the call of the food must be withstood. In this case, out of sight truly is out of mind. Put unhealthy, unfilling foods in a drawer or in a cabinet that you rarely use. Put them all together to make a particularly unappetizing sight. Don t place them all in a decorative basket out on the counter. Place them in a drawer. A drawer heaping with pastries rarely looks like anything but a drawer of fat. 4.Eat less, but eat more often. If possible, eat 4-5 meals a day. This helps your metabolism and blood sugar to stay level as well. This does require a change in your schedule. Eat less within 6 hours of your bed time. You re less likely to burn the calories closer to your bed time. It s fine to eat a large breakfast and lunch because your body will be working on burning those calories for the whole day. Large dinners are likely to go unburned and converted into fat. 5.Do not skip breakfast. If you don t have time to prepare breakfast, buy healthy breakfast bars or those smoothies on the go. It is important to eat breakfast to jump start your metabolism and give you energy for the day. Otherwise you will probably end up falling back on unhealthy foods during the day. Yogurt is also known to boost your metabolism. 6.Eat healthy snacks when you feel hungry between meal times. Healthy snacks would be things high in fiber, fruits and vegetables. Avoid high sugar and high calorie snacks. This will help you get nutrients as well as help lower your appetite so you won t overeat during meals. 7.Increase your fiber intake. Fiber acts as negative calories. It s also filling and healthy for your digestive system. Make it a part of every meal. 8.Eat slowly and chew more. Take time to enjoy your meals. This will help you to finish at the same time as others, and you ll not be tempted by a second helping. Also, chewing more will ensure you get the most out of all the food and it will be digested faster. The more you chew, the more your appetite will be satiated. 9.Drink more water every day. Stay hydrated. While you don t need 8 cups of water a day to stay hydrated, it ll make sure you re hydrated as well as cut down on your hunger levels and force you to get a little bit more exercise (trips to the sink, water cooler, water fountain, and bathroom). If you re a heavy soda drinker, permit yourself to only one diet soda per day, maximum. Just one extra soda each day can add 15 pounds. Recently, fizzy drinks, even diet ones, have been said to slow down metabolism. 10.Increase physical activity. There are two ways to reduce net caloric intake: 1) reduce the number of calories in your diet and 2) Increase the number of calories that you burn in your daily activities. Both approaches are usually necessary and healthful and both are effective in losing weight. You can pick and choose which exercise you want to do, depending on your fitness level and drive. For example: walking, jogging, using the stair stepper, using cross training machines, swimming, tennis, and basketball. Weight training (and resistance training) can help reshape your body. The more muscle you have the higher your metabolism will be. 11.Find active friends. Find people that will drag you out to do more active things. It doesn t have to be much, but any exercise even walking around the mall is better than none. 12.Don t get discouraged. After one or two weeks of initial weight loss, it is quite common for your metabolism to slow down as it adjusts to the new calorie count. Stay on course and you ll see results. In some cases, the scale will tell you your weight is barely changing, but you may be gaining muscle weight while losing fat weight. Also make sure to weigh yourself first thing in the morning to try to avoid the fluctuations in weight due to water. 13.Take all advice with a grain of salt. Everyone is going to have some tidbit of information for you. What worked for them might not work for you. Take it all in stride and work with what is getting results for you. Trying to do everything everyone says will only cause overload. 14.Eat more protein. If you choose to go this route, do not cut out all carbs. If you do so, as soon as you start eating carbs again you will regain your weight back. Instead of eating stand alone pasta, throw some meatballs or chicken in. Eat some beans, they are high in protein and very healthy for you. Increase the ammount of protein, but not by too much. The more protein you take in, the more water you should drink as well. 15.Eat less calories. The average woman should eat around 2,000 calories a day and the average male 2,500. There s many ways to reduce the calories you intake. Try not to eat frozen dinners, pizza, or from fast food joints. There s also certain drinks, such as Green Tea that are calorie reducers. Lettuce is another calorie reducer, but be careful because dressing tends to have the calories. Low fat/light vinnegette, balsomic vineger, red wine and vineger are pretty healthy dressings, but do not load it on.

I would like to lose some weight before Christmas...? -

I m 105 pounds and 5 3 and I want to lose some belly fat if that s possible by Christmas. I know you might say: Don t try to lose weight, you re average weight! or something, but lately I ve been noticing some belly fat I do not like. (But, who does?) Does anyone have any good weight loss tips for me? Thanks in advance!P.S. I put this in Teen Preteen because I know a few teens on here who struggle with their weight as well.

You ve probably heard this before, but you can t just target one area to lose weight. Since you are already at a healthy weight, I would incorporate some weight training. I ve always been a huge fan of crunches, and I have the flat stomach to show for it. Get a stability ball (those big, bouncy, kinda rubbery balls you see in gyms) and do crunches on that. You ll see results in very little time.

I have lost heaps these are my tricksI became vedgetarian do 100 sit ups200 skwatsgo for a 30 minuets jog in the morninggo for a 30 minuet jog in the afternoongo for a hour jog in the eveningI skip breakfast and sometimes lunch but thats not a diet thing thats a i am not hungry thing...I walk my dog some days for a 10-20 minuets + all my runningI never eat junk foodi am a 5,3 and 95lbs and very toned :) (13 yr old girl btw)

If you have belly fat and you re not overweight, then don t try to lose weight. Do some exercises to tone up your stomach. And stomachs aren t supposed to be completely flat anyway. It s unhealthy. But DON T try to lose weight. It s not necessary at all.

Definitely do not try to lose weight. 105 is healthy. Just tone up. Pilates for abs are great for tightening your stomach, but don t diet or try to get skinnier. Just exercise and eat well.

Simple as this go on line and buy some Sea Silver . or go to a health food store. If they dont have it tell them to order it for you.

you dont need to loose weight, you just need to tone upstart doin about 10 stomach crunches a day and work up more the longer the longer you re doing it

Stay away from sweets. Sugar goes straight to your stomach. I also suggest some cardio exercises and crunches.

dieting is easy eat healthy and exercise

Just do some sit ups to tighten up the flab...

Weight Loss Tips....Need Help!!!!!? -

I have a function that i have to go to in like 3 weeks. I need to lose a considerable amount of weight in that time. ( approx. 20-30 pounds). Does anyone have any tips??? I need some ASAP!!! Thanks!!P.S. Please dont leave comments that are not going to help my goal!

There is no way to healthily lose 30, or even 20, pounds in three weeks. A loss of 15 pounds is, however, very achievable, so my first recommendation is that you change your goal to one that you can accomplish. Otherwise you ll just be really frustrated within two weeks.First: Quit drinking calories. No alcohol, soda, or juice. Water hydrates best and has no sugar. (This doesn t mean you have to stop eating milk with your cereal.)Try to avoid processed, canned and frozen foods - even if they are more convenient. Cook fresh veggies, substitute rice for pasta, and eat more fish and chicken as opposed to beef and pork. Foods like avocado and fish are excellent because they provide the fats we need minus the sugar and calories. In order for an average person to lose 5 pounds per week, they must cut 3500 calories (500 calories per day) in addition to cardiovascular exercise. Most people can cut 500 calories daily simply by eliminating unnecessary snacks throughout the day. Eat four small meals rather than two large, because you re much more likely to snack when there s lots of time between meals. Depending on your fitness level and motivation, you should consider picking up either running, bicycling, swimming or hiking to complement your diet. Also, if you do increase your exercise, remember that it s natural for your body to need more food - just don t give it a greasy hamburger as reward for a 5 mile jog.

Sorry, it is physically impossible to lose that amount of weight by dieting and exercise in 3 weeks. A realistic goal is 1-2 lbs per week. The only way you could lose that amount would be to have surgery, and the amount you want to lose exceeds the amount that should be removed in a liposuction session, and any other surgery would take more time to recover than fits into your schedule. I know this isn t what you want to hear, but you re just not going to get there in 3 weeks.

Eat less-- but with healthy foods, not junk food; count calories (approximate for those not labeled.. but also look at nutritional facts because some foods only have higher calories because they have more carbs) and get lots of exercise; definetly get enough sleep though, because when people are sleep deprived, their bodies usually do not work as effieciently, causing weight loss very difficult. That is how I lost about 20-30pounds for a certain event or by a certain deadline, however, I d suggest not doing that too often because it is unhealthy (just once in awhile, like for this function, should be ok). Othewise, a healthy rate to lose weight would be about 2 pounds a week.

Add some natural herbs to your diet. There are some which can increase weight loss by up to 10%. And then take care of things that are stopping you from losing weight. There are numerous factors which affect weight loss and weight gain other than what you eat and exercise. There are herbs which can help you burn fat faster. Herbs which you probably have in your kitchen right now. Things like ginger and fennel. Also you burn less fat if you don t sleep properly or you are under stress. Here are some shocking facts:1. Inadequate sleep can increase your chances of becoming obese by as much as 10% 2. People who had inadequate sleep generally gained an 33 pounds over the period of the study than those who slept well. 3. Stress has been linked to increase appetite, increased carbohydrate cravings and also an increase in abdominal fat. 4. Prolonged stress also slows the metabolism rate 5. It is possible to increase metabolic rate using herbs which means you will burn fat faster. 6. Blood sugar level imbalances can cause cravings for carbohydrates, increase fat storage and decrease energy levels. A killer trio if you are trying to lose weight. 7. This is not really a shocking fact C we all know that obesity and depression are linked. What is shocking, is that scientists in a recent study published that a person who is depressed has a 40% chance of becoming obese! BUT BEFORE YOU TRY ANY NEW DIET OR HERBAL REMEDY CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR.For a free mini guide on weight loss using natural herbs, why not try: http://ultimate-diet-companion.com/To your herbal weight loss successJoan AllenPersonal herbal weight loss coach

Low carb diet. Only eat green veggies for carbs. If you go to the library, look at the South Beach Diet book. It has a list of foods you can eat during phase 1. Eat only those. You can drop 15-20 lbs in the first two weeks if you stay strict to that diet.Whether you follow it afterwards would be up to you. I would encourage you to look at the whole thing. You ll look and feel better by the end of three weeks.I ll say it is hard though. I have only made it 11 days on the strict phase 1. Then I only incorporate a little of the phase 2 things to eat, so it s almost a 1.5 phase.

well first you need to be healthy.cut down ALOT on bad foods, carbs, and fat.Eat 2 to 3 servings of fruits and vegetables. Also, go on runs, do 100 cruches,or get a home dvd workout .I reccomend tae bo.These all will help. But those wight loss pills will help you lose weight butis gonna mess up your life FOREVER.

Weight loss tips, please help? -

okay, first im 14 and i weigh around 68 kgs, i am 172cm tall. i would like too lose about 5 kilos i wanna be around 60-63 kgs. i wanna lose it mainly on my stomach, i do sit ups and crunches reguarly and i would like too be able too see my abs, you can only see them faintly after i workout. anyone help me ? i dont want nothing hardcore something easy. btw i like my fooood :D

here is what my dietician suggests - follow a practical diet. start your meal with a soup or a huge salad. this fills u up. Make sure your plate has this ratio - 50 per cent veg, 25 per cent carb. potatoes, corn and peas come in carbs category. 25 per cent protein.this will prevent cravings too.an occassional treat is OK. have a snack every three hours. fruit ,ideally berries, or soy nuts. just 2 tbsp of soya subsides hunger pangs. have a protein shake too, if you want. it will fight the fat and give you extra energy to exercise. switch from white rice and bread to brown. eat 900gms of veggies a day.Needless to say, NO soda, chips, cookies! Lose a kilo a week. that is permanent loss. pick an exercise regime you like. get a pedometer and try to take 10,000 steps everyday.abs are the most troublesome area to tone. Kickboxing helps a lot. because it is cardio plus it targets ab muscles.

diet + exercise. ok ill start really basic with you. you have to burn what you eat. the energy you mainly get is from sugar, fats and carbohydrates.that means STOP EATING JUNK FOOD and replace it with healthy food. if you can t do this then you will never be healthy.and for exercises, you want to do cardio exercises which involve your heartbeat being fast such as running, swimming, biking and rowing. most of the information you find out on the internet is a lie. there is no easy way to lose weight, but it can be done if you put some effort it.

Weight loss tips, without the verbal abuse. ? -

I ve gained about 35 pounds in the past eight or so months going from a healthy weight of about 140 to a rather chunky 175. I m 5 4 and put on muscle super easily. My main problem is binging. I have a history of eating disorders (you name it I ve probably been diagnosed with it) and right now I m having a huge willpower issue. Any tips on staying away from munchies and such. I m rarely actually hungry I just can t seem to stop eating.

Another american with more ailments than the city hospital.Eat less exercise more is the best way to lose weight. And by the way muscle is heavier than fat so if you are building your muscles you will weigh more.

Get some grapes or carrots (or any other veggie you like) and start munching on those. I tend not to eat them unless they re ready to go though, so I suggest that as soon as you get home from the store, go ahead and prepare all your snacks. Get some huge baggies. Rinse all the fruits or veggies, and either pluck them off the vine or cut them into pieces. That way you can t grab something ready to go (like chips) because you don t feel like getting the good stuff ready to eat. Also, if you have any particular weaknesses, get something with less fat and calories and keep it around the house. I have a weakness for chocolate, so I keep some low fat ice cream in the fridge, and I just let myself have a few spoonfuls whenever I get the urge for chocolate. Other than that, find something you can do with your hands, and chew gum or suck on hard candy while you do it. Any kind of typing or writing works well. But save the snacks for when you re watching tv or something, when you re hands are just sitting there with nothing to do.

Cut out the salt. If you go bland you won t want to munch. If you put it in your house you are going to eat it. Buy veggies instead of say potatoe chips, candies. Another good thing to snack on that doesn t add the pounds is yogurt. Drink water. Somethings that aren t so good for you that you think would be: Granola and energy bars. These although packed with protien, also have a huge calorie salt and sugar count. Pretzels: fat free, but not calorie, or salt free.Low fat: HIGH SALT!! This isn t to help you to stop eating just start munching the right stuff, and you ll be ok. Radishes cucumbers carrots broccoli zucchini lettuce ginger etc. These are all good for you and you can eat and eat and eat eventually you will get tired of eating because it takes more to eat these things than it puts pounds on.

ive been on a diet for 5months and the ONLY way i was able to do it this long is to eat a little bit every 3hrs or so. usually 200 to 400cals. i think in the 5 months i have eating over 400cals less than 10 times with probably a max of 700cals. at one time.i just want to lose weight more than i wanted to eat more and i realized that a little taste exactly the same as alot. i don t even mind feeling a little hungry and i never feel full. drinking lots of water after and between eating seems to help alot too.btw. i only lose 5lbs a month. some weeks i lose 0 and the most i have lost in a week is 3 but it always seems to come out to right at 5lbs per month.also, i eat anything i want. the more cals. it has the less of it i eat. i usually know exactly what and how much i am going to eat at my next meal and that s all i will eat. i just say no more.

i train myself actually its weird like everytime you say no thats training you to stop eating only eat when your hungryits kind of like running, you cant run 10 miles after sitting on your coach for a monthevery day run and extra mile and you ll get there eventually (you dont really have to run its just an exapmle) also dont have food in your house that you can binge onnow that i have trained myself to say no i have over4 king size hersheys bars (that i havent even touched since a month ago maybe)

Don t have foods that are bad for you around. When you go to the store, only buy healthy foods and keep only healthy snacks at your house. If you aren t around unhealthy snacks you are much less likely to binge on them at home. Other than that, find something that really inspires you to lose the weight and try to gain some of that willpower back. Good Luck!

clean up your kitchen...get those munchies out and replace them with some fruitif you don t see the foods you ll be less likely to want themim not sure where you re from but some grocery stores will let you order your foods and bring them to you... not going to the store with also help with the mental parts... you wont see the food so you wont want to buy it!

Dont drink milkDrink LOTS of waterDo not eat any foods with sugarAnd most important of all you need to not be lazy and actually commit to exercising.

Eat before you go shopping. Shopping on a full stomach works wonders.Stop buying junk food.

ok, i want you to say food is not for pleasure 100 times on the turn of every hour! then you will find all your problems will be over

what eating disorders have you had?

There s only ONE WAY to lose fat - and that is to create a calorie deficit. However, there are two ways to create a calorie deficit - one is to decrease your food intake so you are eating less than you burn, the other is to increase your exercise and activity so you are burning more than you eat.Of the two ways to create a calorie deficit, burning the fat is far superior to starving it. You see, cutting calories too much causes weight loss at first, but it also causes muscle loss and it eventually leads to a decrease in metabolism, so the weight loss stops. This is very common on conventional diets, right? You lose weight in the beginning, but then you hit a plateau that you just can t break through. Cutting calories even more at this point only digs you even into a deeper metabolic hole. Eating more of the right foods (up to a certain point) actually increases your metabolic heat like putting wood on a fire. Food is energy; food is fuel, and it produces (metabolic) heat.Exercise burns calories and creates a calorie deficit, but the real advantage of exercise over diet is that exercise increases your metabolism, dieting slows it down. Exercise also has major health benefits, while starvation can only create health problems. So if you eat more (healthy foods) and exercise more, you get a double increase in metabolism. If you eat less and exercise less you get a double decrease in metabolism. That makes complete sense doesn t it?The IDEAL exercise program for fat loss has a combination of cardiovascular (aerobic) training and strength training. But ultimately, you re not likely to stick with exercise long term unless you choose activities you enjoy - so pick something you enjoy, even if it doesn t follow the guidelines of traditional fat loss programs. It s better to do something than nothing, and all exercise counts. Some people may have orthopedic problems which limit the type of exercise they can do. But nearly everyone can walk. So if you can walk, then walk. And almost everyone can do some type of strength training. Instead of focusing on what you can t do or what you don t like to do, direct your attention to what you CAN do and what you would like to do.Maybe you don t like being couped up inside all the time. Maybe you d prefer hiking or jogging outside. Or maybe boxing or martial arts sounds cool to you. Maybe you like basketball or tennis. Maybe you d enjoy classes, or yoga or pilates. Your options are nearly unlimited, but you have to do something or your body will begin to deteriorate. As you increase your lean muscle mass, you ll also get a permanent increase in your resting metabolic rate. Muscle is what drives your metabolism, keeps you young and makes you look more physically attractive. Others will notice how good you look, and you ll feel better about yourself too. Yes, you may lose weight from diet alone, but you re likely to end up a skinny fat person with a slow metabolism and very little lean body mass (not to mention, you ll probably gain back all the fat)Last, but not least, be careful what you say to yourself over and over because that tends to program your subconscious mind and create your self image. If you ve been repeating to yourself for years, I m not big on exercise or I m not an exercise person , that eventually becomes a part of your identity. You always tend to behave in alignment with your identity in order to stay true to yourself. Maybe when you look in the mirror after just a few weeks and see your body start to change you ll begin to like enjoy exercise a LOT. It can get addictive, you know. The endorphins that are released when you exercise are like opiates. Ever hear of runners HIGH? Ever hear of an exercise addict? What would YOU rather be hooked on? Forget about popping pills, Your body is the most exquisite pharmacy on the planet. Exercise is a better fat burner, health creator, energy producer and anti-depressant than any man-made drug will EVER be. Exercise can be fun and FEEL GOOD too.Human beings were meant to move. Bodies don t lose their function by being used too much and wearing out , they lose their function by not being used enough and rusting out. So if the positive benefits of exercise don t motivate you enough, then just picture yourself 10, 20 years from now and imagine what will happen to you if you DON T start exercising today.Check out my website, where I have reviewed the top weight loss products.http://www.my-linker.com/hop/weightlossrI hope this is beneficial to you reaching your goals!

I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes. Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight. First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace.com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day. Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
