Don t target losing more than about 2 lbs per week. There is one caveat... abdominal muscles will form in the position that you work them, so be certain to pull them tightly toward your spine while doing crunches, etc. Also, during most lifting, the core is active which means that you should be stabilizing with contracted abs then too. Fail to do this and the abs will form, but bulging outward and the result is not attractive.If you are trying to build muscle as a way to lose fat, then you may need to increase total calories and specifically your protein intake. There is no safe way to lose an extreme amount of weight quickly. The best way is to eat about 1300 calories a day along with 45 minutes or so of exercise. Keep a journal of what you eat and how many calories. (You can find plenty of websites if you search.) Keep portion size in mind. Your stomach is generally the size of your fist. Generally, your portions should be no larger than the size of your palm, if that much with some things. Stick with plenty of fruits, vegetables and water. Make sure you include some complex carbohydrates with lean protein. It isn t easy, but it works.

there is no easy way, losing weight takes time. If you cut the junk food, drink lots of water and exercise,(I love to power walk for 30 minutes a day) you will loose weight. Slimfast is good for temporary weight loss but if you are not careful you will gain it all back and more. Replace one meal with a healthy salad, easy on the dressing.
