Why have I not lost any weight? -

I have been working out for almost a month with no results. My routine is as followsMonday,Wednesday, Friday: 30 min. on Eliptical doing the weight loss program interval, resistance of 5 12; then strength training session, legs, arms, abs, back, butt, three sets of each, with a 30 sec. break between. Then ending with crunches 40-50, even 75 once. So far, not a pound lost, I m 21, I weigh 180lbs...and I m starting to think this will not work. I drink nothing but water, and started eating less. :-( I feel better, physically/mentally, but have not dropped any weight. Please help!Tuesday Thursday: 1 hr. eliptical on intervals of 5 12

most liklely your diet. Eat 3 meals a day, with snacks in between. And work out a little longer to the point where it hurts to even do one more set. If it doesnt burn the next morning it might as well be a day at the gym wasted. DO NOT EAT LESS. Eat in MODERATION.

muscle is vastly more dense then fat. given that fact, stop looking at the scale, if it depresses you. I think we place too much emphasis on weight. Besides weight is a truly horrible indicator of fitness. I think you ve said it already, you feel better physical/mentally. Isn t that a good enough reason alone?? Depending on how much muscle mass you do have, eating less might be a bad thing. You might not be eating enough calories to feed all your muscles, if that is the case then you will never lose weight. I d suggest you go see a dietitian. They can accurate tell you how much calories you need to consume.From my own personal experience, i used to run cross country in high school. I was running 5-8 miles daily, by the end of the season (3+ months) i would tend to gain 5-6 pounds, even tho i was in the best shape of my life.

you have to make sure that you are burning more then what you are eating or intaking. maybe that excercise regiment is just not right for you? maybe you should do more than 30 minutes?

Is this a healthy weight loss sandwich? -

2- 40 calories slices of bread...Very low calorie slices..turkey, 30 calories...lettuce, onions, mustard, pickles tomatoes...so about a 130 calorie sandwich... can I eat around 8 of those a day, and a can of tuna with lettuce.. and a 160 calorie protein shake/day, good idea for body building diet?Around 1400 calories of food..

Eat 10 of them, watch the carbs though.

Okay for starters, I know I m not fat . I do complain about my weight and my family and friends say I m fine. But I am not at all happy with myself, I don t like my body and I m not comfortable with it either. I m not skinny and I just want to lose some weight easily. Diets? no need for diets.Eat less at meal times, for example instead of say have 4 fish fingers 2 scoops of mash and some peas just have 1 scoop of mash and 3 fish fingers and peas.going to Mcds instead of getting a big mac meal get a kids meal. kinda cut down on the quantity of what you re eating. As for snacks Id say have an apple or some fruit when youre peckish. and exercise. cardio exercises are best, look on the internet for home cardios. easy to do and saves you going to the gym!

I don t think diets ever worked for losing weight. If you are hungry, you must eat. Food is not your enemy, it s your friend and keeps you alive. If you want to lose weight, the only thing that works is the natural way, that means the way our body is meant to lose weight: by exercise, ideally a combination of muscle building and endurance. A hour of cardio a day is not healthy exercise. That s not even exercise. That s considered recreation.The way to get a nice defined look is 80% diet.Develop a workout plan. Develop an eating plan. Don t use any one elses.Hydroxicut is not only a waste of money but contains caffeine. It will dehydrate you body as you workout.Creatine is unhealthy for your muscles.Weight Watchers is a scam. Just by fruit at the market and you ll get your carbs in. Fruits(carbs), vegies(healthy digestion) and lean protein(poultry and fish) is a great source of a healthy body.I used to be on lithium carbonate and than I developed a balanced exercise plan, which balanced out my lifestyle. So I pretty much said, okay, I need to grow up and get done what needs to be done. At first getting angry at myself was my motivation. Now faith is actually my motivation. Weird but..... I don t know much about God but I know he did give people the ability achieve and succeed in life. Everyone has this ability. No matter what religion or even if your atheist. Exceeding it is unhealthy. Bellow it, no point.Try not to be hard on your self while doing it. Do not stress your body.Try not to make it a goal for a certain day by when you want to burn so much fat. It s an unhealthy way of thinking too.I did try hydroxcut not the caffeine one. I hope you don t do that one. But I ended up just realizing that my body already has a metabolism. I just maintain it. I don t cheat.I m considering and trying to develop ways to consume muscle milk and whey protein instead of buying meat and fish. I eat lots of fruits and veggies yum yum. lollI don t smoke. I m a warcraft addict though. Have been since I was 7.It s till a bad habit though.A good habit of mine however is music. I managed to learn how to read piano sheet music and guitar tabs. It s so fun. Wakes up that artistic side of the brain too. The cool thing too about playing music is that all that hard thinking gets me hungry. So I go for a bite to eat right after.Don t eat 2 - 3 hours before bed time.Don t eat a heavy meal 2 hours or more before an intense workout.Drink green tea.Pomegranate juice is a yummy investment. Food preparation is an art too.I m thinking of getting that muscle milk stuff because I m going to classes back to back this semester and I downing it s a fast way to get protein in. Taste good too. A lot of calories though. But with my diet it doesn t matter because the fruits and vegies are very low in calories.Calories isn t fat but energy. Your body needs calories. Does interval training really work? -

I ve heard that interval training melts weight quickly. Does anyone have any first hand experience with this type of cardio? How much did you lose and how quickly did you see results? I ve been on a weight loss program for the last 2 months and have lost 20 pounds. I would like to kick up the weight loss and am interested in possibly trying interval training. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

i m on this challenge...that has us doing cardio for 20 min.every other day and weight training the opposite days and no workouts on sunday. get to eat what you craved during the week...it s a type of interval training

yes, it has been proven that interval training burns more fat and longer after working out. i dont remember exactly how much more but it was more than 15%.

Can you Help me with Healthy Weight Loss? -

If i continue with weight watchers, I get 38 points a day. Thats alot of food and some people have told me to eat the full fat version of things like cheese and milk and such..and I don t like to do that, they don t taste right to me and I don t want to use my points up on junk food because that defeats the purpose.38 points is a lot of food.I ve got PCOS(Insulin resistance) and am on metformin to help with weight loss...but can i have some suggestions from you what would be good to eat to help lose weight...I know if I don t eat enough my body will go into starvation mode and that s not good either.

At my highest weight I was over 400 pounds. I have type 2 diabetes, not PCOS, but at the time I was on meds that helped gain weight rather than help lose. But I did manage to lose over 200 pounds using the glycemic index. It is recommended for diabetics because it keeps your blood sugars stable instead of spikes and dips. However, it s good for anyone because fluctuations in blood sugar will increase your appetite, making it hard to stick to your calorie count. At a higher weight you need a few more calories than someone trying to lose their last 10 pounds but you would do well at 1800-2000 calories a day then reduce that amount when you get down to less than 100 pounds from your goal weight - 1200-1500 per day. (I did fewer calories, that seemed to work for me with my medications - 1500-1800 calories a day to start, which was less than I was supposed to have.)Some simple rules for following a GI diet: - never have a carb by itself. ALWAYS have it with protein. So if you have an apple, have some turkey with it. - avoid white carbs: white bread, white rice, white tortillas, white pasta, white potatoes, sugar. - no juice,that s not a fruit, it s the sugar from fruit concentrated. No soda. - complex carbs only - whole wheat, multi grain, brown rice, etc. - eat smaller meals more frequently. 3 meals plus 2 snacks per day. Don t go more than a few hours without eating. As always with dieting, make veggies a huge part of your day. Of course that means non-starchy veggies - no corn or potatoes unless you are counting them as your carb. Also drink a lot of water - your body needs water to metabolize (burn) fat!Good luck and you can do this even with a medical condition, don t let anyone else tell you that you can t. You have to adjust to what works for you. Try cutting calories if the scale doesn t budge. Don t go by what the books say should work, everyone is different. By the way, exercise is great but diet is 99 percent of weight loss. Exercise makes you healthier in general, but for weight loss diet is king. As you lose weight you will want to become more active, so don t put too much pressure on yourself to start exercising because that can lead to discouragement.
