Sorry, I have to disagree with Simon. The quickest way to lose weight is not by doing cardio (although this helps), but by gaining muscle and lifting weights, doing a lot of repetitions (to build lean muscle). The reason for this is because for every extra kilo of muscle you have, you can burn up to 200 calories extra per day ( about 3 slices of bread) even when sitting and doing nothing. When you do cardio, although it s good for you, all you really do is burn the calories while you re actually exercising, and your metabolism goes back to normal within the hour.

Both these two ways will cause you overweight.Understanding that overweight is a result of bad dieting habit - for examples always starving yourself or often overeat.To address this overweight problem, you must make yourself good eating habit. What is your idea of fast ? You should try for 2 - 3 pounds of weight loss per week. Increase your water, increase your activity - doing a walk, run, walk, run, walk is one that works well. Going up and down hills is great. But you should not try to lose any more weight per week than mentioned above. If you do, and stop the more careful eating, decrease your water intake, stop the walking etc., the weight will come back on and usually will be more, and will contain more fat.

how much do you wanna lose? the best and fastest way to lose weight is to go to atkins diet. you can eat 5-6 meals so you don t have to starve yourself or throw up and for excerising you don t have to over excercise but it would really help if you do 30 minutes a day or something like that. oh by the way you can start with the induction (phase one) of the atkins diet for the first two weeks and you will lose 15 pounds probably more with excercise. So you want to get to your goal weight by the 18th? I would recommend lots of water, peeing a lot helps. Also cardio. Try and run or walk. If there is a place where you go to lunch by your work, you should walk there instead of driving. Eat healthy. On average a women body burns up to 2000 calories a day by doing everyday activities. If you were to eat say 1500 carloires you would burn 500 a day, which would equal upto a pound a week. If you are burning more then 2 - 3 pounds a week then I would recommend stopping, becasue doing so will cause you to gain all the weight back and some. Drinking water so that you stay well hydrated does help with losing weight. However, drinking so much water that you are over hydrated can be deadly. Locally, a woman drank 2 two liter bottles of water in yes, 2 hrs and her brain swelled and she died. Two gallons of water is fatal in most people drunk too fast. So have a glass of water every couple hours and you will lose more weight but won t risk death from water intoxication. (Look up water intoxication for more details.)
