Teen weight loss tips? -

Ok, I m 18 years old and about 5 4. I ve been pretty much the same size since I was 14 in height, and my weight stayed around 110. It would fluxuate day to day, sometimes it d be 108, sometimes 111, but never ever more than that.but in the past month or so, i ve noticed that i ve gained weight. now instead of being right at 110, i m between 115 and 120! this just.....isn t acceptable for me. i mean i know it s still not heavy and all, but i would really be happier with myself if i lost a good 8 or 10 pounds.i m getting a stationary bike for xmas and i have some light weights for some arm muscle toning, but can you think of anything else i can do to shed these random pounds?like, i went to put on a pair of jeans today that i know for a fact i wore less than 2 weeks ago, but they were too tight. that was the breaking point where i resigned myself to fixing this. ive always eaten whatever i wanted to w/o worry, but now i have no idea what to do!

Are you as active as you were previously. When you get your stationary bike for Christmas, aim to do around 1 hour of riding a day for 6 days a week with 1 rest day! To challenge yourself and increase your weightloss, do 5 minutes of pedalling at a comfortable pace and 30 sec to 1 minute of pedalling as fast as you can. Do you weights at least 3 times per week for about 30 - 45 minutes (This is on top of your cardio!)Drink plenty of water!GOOD LUCK!

your just maturing and your horemones are kicking in.... try the south beach diet!! you loseabout 8-13 pounds in JUST the first two weeks (phase 1) then after that you continue to lose 1-2 pounds a week on phase 2 then when you get to your goal weight you go to phase 3 to maintain your weight!! its an easy lifestyle to stick to

Exercise everyday like jogging around the blockSkip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per dayDont eat until you re fullEat fruits at night if your hungry.Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate. There are more tips and info.there s a video on success fitness too.http://helpyourself.50webs.com

Maybe try eating a more evenly divided diet. Exercise is important in diet as well, but most of it has to do with what you eat.

Here are some of the most effective weight loss tips to help you get (or stay) on track to a healthier, better-looking body:1.Drink ice water. The simplest of the weight loss tips, it helps body burns up to 40 calories just by turning up its metabolism in order to warm the water.2.Have an early dinner so that you have an hour or two to take a short walk after dinner. In between meals, when you feel like eating something, reach out for a glass of water that will make you feel fuller soon.3.One of the effective weight loss tips is while cooking, lower the heat so that you can use less oil. Cut down on the use of hot, spicy foods. In fact, it would be much wiser to eliminate them from your diet. For more effective tips on reducing weight, you can read abt them here: http://weight-loss.best-health-remedy.co

How to lose weight and train for cross country? -

I am going to be a sophmore this upcoming school year and last year as a freshmen in highschool I was on the slow side and couldn t pace myself in cross country. I have decided to start training now that it s summer. What strategies/ techniques etc. can help me run faster, longer and be able to pace myself?Really need to be faster and become good at pacing throughout the races. My races are 3.1 miles.

i run cross country too and this is my 1st varsity year...i was good in jv and got top 10 in almost all races...to train you need to do distance training...i usually try to run from 30 to 50 minutes...to make a 3.1 mile race easier you need to be able to run 6 miles. it will also help you to do core workouts like abs and stuffyou need to do hill workouts and sprint workouts tootry this: sprint for a minute then jog for 30 seconds then sprint for a min. and then jog...and so on..do this 8 or 10 times..you will get ALOT faster...good luck this season :]

I need advice on how to lose weight properly to keep the weight off.? -

I am severly overweight and in all reality need to lose around 100 pounds. I work 12 hr nights at a hospital and need some advice on when to eat at the right times. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Well, I can certainly relate to you when it comes to working third shift or the 7pm to 7am shift. I worked in a hospital for 14yrs and the first 4 yrs were swing shift where I would work 7am to 3pm for 2 weeks and then swing over to 11pm to 7am for the next 2 weeks. I didn t sleep for 4yrs it felt like. But I did like working nights better--less traffic through the unit--so I settled on working 7pm to 7am. It is really hard getting your body s internal time clock to work completely opposite of the normal work day. Besides drinking 3 pots of coffee during the 12hrs to try to keep myself awake when things were slow, I also turned to the goodies that people working with me brought in. Sometimes, one of us would stop off and bring in Kentucky Fried Chicken or Taco Bell for 9 people or someone would whip up brownies or other sweets. It was kind of a way of survival to always have something in my mouth. I picked up smoking too and I was a CCU nurse. It was kind of an insane way to live but for some reason, I loved it!When it finally got to where I couldn t fit into my scrubs anymore, me and a few of my co-workers decided that something needed to be done. We started a sort of club where we paid dues and every month, we would weigh in at work, and whoever lost the most got the money we put in weekly as dues. We made a pact of no more junk food at work--we could do what we wanted to a home but we all could use some extra cash so it was an incentive. Instead of someone bringing cookies or home made biscuits and ham,, we brought in veggie trays or fruit trays, anything healthy that was yummy as well. It was fun. We would take walks through the hospital or outside in the middle of the night--not too far out and in small groups. Some of my co-workers would go for a walk outside before they went home in the mornings. I had a small commute, like 30 min., but instead of going home and eating a sandwich and milk or soda, I started working out at the gym with my boyfriend at 8:00am and playing raquetball with him. Then come home, take a nice shower and hit the bed. It really is hard to sleep during the day, no matter how many years you ve been doing it and for some reason, you never feel quite rested. They did a sleep study and found that most people who work at night and sleep during the day, never quite reach the deep level of sleep known as REM sleep. REM is vital to people to feel rested and for their metabolism to operate at it s peak. Also for their bodies to operate at it s most efficient level. It s just our bodies inner clock that has been set since the beginning when people worked when the sun was out and to rest when the sun was down. It has also been shown that a good nights sleep helped immensely when it came to losing weight. Sleep is the time when our bodies heal themselves and sort of reset our metabolism for the next day. Without a good sleep, no matter how much you diet or work out, you feel sluggish and your metabolism is conserving energy. So after all of that, it just comes down to knocking off the junk food at night, along with sodas---throw away any snack food left over from the previous shift. Take a walk to wake up your metabolism when you feel yourself starting to sink. Before you hit the bed when you get home, instead of having a piece of cake or leftover pizza, work out or take a walk. Once you ve slept, you really don t feel much like going to the gym when you wake up. For sleep, drink a glass of skim or low fat milk, then darken your room as much as possible. Also, try and soundproof it as much as possible even if it means wearing a eyemask and earplugs, and turn the heat down in your room. Most people sleep better in a cooler room. Good Luck to You!!! You can do it !!

I would suggest a cleansing diet. I lost 12 pounds in 9 days and then 28 pounds in less than a month. I also lost a lot of inches too! I learned that cleansing will help the body get rid of toxins. Toxins come from a lot of things like fast food, pollution, food additives and preservatives and lots of other things. The toxins get stored in the fat in our body. To get rid of the fat, we have to get rid of the toxins by cleansing the body. This made sense to me and I decided to try a cleanse program and it worked. The weight came off fast and this kept me motivated to keep going, not like other diets where the weight loss it too slow. I did Jenny Craig, and Medifast. If you want to learn more call the toll free number 1-877-587-4647 or check out the website. This was the first time I ever did a cleanse, it was easy and I feel better. Good luck whatever you decide to do! http://thebestcleansingdiet.com

Usually shift work can lead to weight gain.

I would get your doctor approvaland then hit a tread mill (real lightly to introduce to your body) for 20 minutes every day on the easiest level. No incline, just walk. After 1 to 2 weeks introduce a small incline for 1 minute of every 5 minutes you are on it and gradually increase as you are commfortable. Just remember never to exceed 20 minutes. You will be amazed what one month will do for you. Do not expect anything other than a cardio workout. Until you really increase the incline/speed that is when the calories really burn, but don t overdue, the idea is to introduce this to yourself. If you cannot go to a tread mill, just walk around your neighbor hood and wear loose sweats even as it gets hotter.

If you work at a hospital, visit the nutritionist. But the key phrase is eat healthy.. Lots of fruits give you easy to breakdown nutrients and enzymes, and a little bit of a workout here and there also helps. Do some sit ups and push ups before work or bed, and once you wake up.. If you find you have some down time, jog around a little bit. Ride a bike to work (I ride my bike 10-15mi a day). You just need to jump start your metabolism, from there it gets easy. Don t eat junky food all the time, but don t starve yourself from them eithor.sparkpeople.com is also a good resource for diet and exercise.

Jamie IS A FOOL . He makes it sound so easy doesn t he ( I ride my bike 10-15mi. a day) what an idiot. Nobody cares how far you ride your bike, self-absorbed punk. First off, it takes major dedication and perseverance. You must get your body to accept eating early and not late. You would have to eat as soon as you wake up (the same as if you were waking up in the morning - a regular 9 to 5). Eat when your body is ready to burn. Do not before you go to bed (that s the worst you can do). If you starve yourself through out your day your body will store - food - as - fat - by the time you do eat or drink. Repetition is key, the more your body does it, the quicker it will adjust. (you can t be lazy - Cook healthy food). I m sure you already know what foods to eat. There is a diet that would be good to start off with - It s the Stanley Burroughs Master Cleanser diet. Read more if you are interested: http://curezone.com/cleanse/bowel/master_cleanse.asp I bet you would lose ten pounds in ten days, but you would have to do everything accordingly (100%) - Like I said, DEDICATION PERSERVERENCE . you would still be able to work, no problem. It s perfect for your work schedule. Try it out you cant go wrong. Plus, organic gradeB maple syrup taste really goooooood.

Drink lot of water. eat cucumber when hungry.. walk at least for 15 min. reduce fatty and fried food. eat raw carrot.

Lifestyle changes. Diets aren t going to help you work off the weight and keep it off. Cause once you are off the diet, the weight will come back on. What sorts of changes? Well, giving up sodas and sugar-drinks is one. They might be tempting when you re trying to stay awake but try switching to caffinated teas. Don t eat out of the vending machines. Bring healthy snacks like fruit and veggies and things like that. Exercise. 12 hour days must leave you pretty tired, and you re on your feet a lot? but getting in exercise is really important. Start building a habit of 3 x 30 minute sessions of walking each week. Join a gym. Swimming is great way to exercise off your feet! Sleep--are you getting enough? Not enough sleep can lead to eating for energy and making poor health decisions. Wanting to change is the first (really important!) step. Its great that you are seeking advice. Ask your doctor (or maybe those you work with!) for advice, how to start an exercise program, etc. Get some professional advice--a lot more valuable than Y!A sometimes. :-) Good luckHey, I really can t help too much on the what times to eat thing. It sounds like you are nearly nocturnal. you might want to reschedule your life around that. Make up a chart of when you d eat during a normal day, three meals/four? and then adjust it for night. say during the day you eat at 8, 11, and 5. Well, if you work at night, do you sleep during the day? You could eat when you get up, halfway through your shift, and then after....sorry I m not more help. Get some sleep! if you can. There are lots of great eye-covers if you have trouble sleeping in the day time. and ear plugs. Ask your coworkers too, they probably have advice you can use. Ask someone who seems healthy and well-adjusted or who you respect! :-) again, best wishescheers!

How to lose weight in 2 months? -

I ve been trying to lose weight, about 15-20 pounds for the summer. The date I want to be finished by is almost 2 months from now (almost exactly). I run and workout about 5 times a week, but the only success of weight loss I get is by eating little or no carbs and calories. I am 5 8, 157lbs, but I don t want to lose my muscle mass. I need your help, I need you to help me with a proper dieting that will be successful in shedding pounds off of my belly.

Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. Vary your routines. Don t eat the same number of calories every day (vary your calories from 1400 a day to 1900 or 2000 some days), eat a variety of foods, and do different kinds and amounts of exercise. You will lose weight much more efficiently if you mix things up from time to time so that your body doesn t adjust to any one routine. An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc. Here are a few helpful links.http://www.nutrawatch.com/http://www.caloriesperhour.com/http://www.helpguide.org/life/healthy_eahttp://www.wikihow.com/Lose-Weight-the-Hhttp://weightloss.about.com/cs/fitness/ahttp://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/fe

Eat a healthy breakfast and dont skip it. Eating a healthy breakfast would jump-start your day, give you energy and can help you eat in moderation at lunch and dinner. A high-fiber(like oatmeal), low-fat breakfast may make a major contribution to a total reduced food intake for the day.Losing weight is simply a matter of limiting calories consumed and burning off more calories with exercise and daily activities. To lose weight, it helps to know how many calories you are consuming in a day so you would know how much to burn. To keep your muscle mass you need weight training exercises. You need to do aerobic exercise like brisk walking or jogging, 30-60 minutes a day, to flatten your belly. When you lose weight significantly you will notice it in your belly. Also, it would help if you eat more fiber rich food foods they make you quickly full and they help burn fat.Check out http://loseweightsite.net

Congratulations on your weight loss so far that is terrific. I myself have llost 40 lbs myself. I walk almost everyday at least 45 minutes and I have drastically changed my eating habits. I lost 25 pounds in 2 months with the YRG Workout. I do the online workout at www.GreatDrills.com at home 4 times a week and don t need any equipment. It is a form of power yoga mixed in with other fat burning exercise movements. Good Luck!

hey. i have a weight loss blog about my weight loss journey . i lost 70lbs so far, i talk about how i do it and stuff. only 20 more lbs to go. yay! anyway, feel free to check it out http://ifinallydidit.wordpress.com/. you might be able to relate to some stuff i talk about. good luck.

The key to starting a successful diet plan is to make the changes slowly. You can t go from eating garbage everyday to eating healthy overnight. The changes required to do something like that are huge and should be spread out over a period of time. If you make the changes too quickly, your body won t have time to adjust and you ll probably quit before seeing any results. At first, you shouldn t worry about your calorie count. When you start replacing unhealthy junk with healthy alternatives your calorie count will naturally be reduced because healthy choices are generally lower in calories than unhealthy ones. Start by reducing the amount of junk you eat (chips, cookies, pastries, doughnuts, soda, sugary drinks). Replace unhealthy snacks with nuts, fruits, salads and yogurt. You can then start getting rid of products made from refined flour such as white bread/pasta. Replace these with foods made from 100% whole wheat flour (check the nutrition label). The difference in the two flours is that whole wheat contains more fiber (and vitamins minerals) which slows down the digestion process. This will keep you full for a longer period of time which will help you eat less throughout the day. Other foods that are high in fiber are fruits, vegetables, oats, beans and legumes.Eventually, you will need to start monitoring your calorie intake. Losing weight depends on you eating less than you burn. If you re not losing weight, the problem is that you re either eating too much, exercising too little or a combination of both. If you want a comprehensive and personalized free diet plan and workout routine, visit http://shtrainer.com

Start your day right. Mothers always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump-start your metabolism.Decide on how much weight you want to lose. Keep your goals realistic.Have a mindset that you want to eat healthy to stay healthy for the rest of your life.Leave your car if you are only going a few blocks from home, take the stairs instead of the elevator, jog, cycle or skate. Use these activites and other home chores if you are too lazy to go to the gym and take exercise classes. Make sure that you do this regularly and you will not even notice that you are already shedding pounds with these mundane activities. Here s some other quick tips for you:* Do not skip meals. Skipping meals slicks the body into slowing down the metabolism, attempting to conserve calories during a period where limited fats and fuel are available. Remember that eating increases the metabolism.* Good cooking and healthy eating begins with learning about nutrition and how to prepare healthy recipes.* Buy non-toasted muesli instead of the toasted ones. A plate of toasted muesli contains more fat than a plate of bacon and eggs.* Warm water with just a squeeze of lemon juice before breakfast get the metabolism going for the day, this also help preventing constipation and is excellent for the skin.* Drinking hot water instead of cold water in the morning can increase the speed of your metabolism and burn more calories. If you have started losing weight, just remember it s a question of will. Keep doing what your re doing, stay away from junk food and sodas, and you will feel more healthier and alive than never before.

How to lose weight for the summer? -

i m 13 and i am very over-weight any ideas how to get fit and lose weight..any ideas?

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, whichwill lead to increase of weight, or muscle growunderneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet withoutexercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. Fordiet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no foodafter 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending onyour initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. Ifyou don t eat wheat then you don t eat all those sticky, fatty goeycakes, you don t eat junk food, and you don t eat biscuits. But yourdiet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have tocalculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is themost efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight alot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to targetyour problem areas for men and women. It s not necessarily to become abodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help youto target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

First of all you need to talk to your parents about this and ask them to help you put together a good plan that will work, one that is sensible and includes healthy eating and plenty of exercise. That is what really works. Discuss some of these ideas with your parents.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. I have been through it all and know what s it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can t be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I ve worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can t eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it s good for the heart. However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It s so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I ve found a great addition to help any one out, it s a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don t get all crazy on me and say diet pills don t work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn t meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It s an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it s the best pill I ve tried and I ve tried cupboards full. Now this doesn t mean you have to follow my foot steps but I ve successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.

How to lose weight in luv handles? -

My body is great! i luv it but..my love handles are big! i don t like it (and no it s not just muscle). Are they re any fast-working excersizes?when i say fast i mean like 2 months and u see results?

try turbo jam or if u belong to a gym, do spin classes

well spot reduction really is impossible. and that sucks because most people are happy with their bodies except for that one little area they wish could be better. but here is some advice that helps keep me in shape.I know this may sound wrong but trust me it works in order to lose weight and bulk you have to eat. people think that if the dont eat as many meals that it will work you have to get your metabolism working more and they way you do that is eating nut eat small sensible portions and cut out more sugars. Breakfast really is the most important part of the day. It starts your body off with getting nutrients and vitamins that it needs to function at full potential and it also starts your metabolism working first thing. Dont eat a huge breakfast with pancakes eggs and bacon just something that light and easy. Bran muffins are good because they help with your digestive system. Yogurt and fruit are both good. Secondly you need to aerobic exercise get your blood pressure up for at least 1/2 hour each day. Running jogging and even walking are great. Swimming is a wonderful and low impact way to achieve this.

dancing every day.

Abs and Chest of Steel. You can order it online. Do it everyday and you ll definitely see results.

Run. The whole theory on spot training does not work, especially on these areas. Everyone stores fat in different areas of their body...this may be the area your body chose to store it. Yes, this may not be acceptable by you, but it s life unfortunately. Running is one of the best exercises, despite the pressure it puts on joints and limbs. I find that it widdles my middle first and foremost and then helps the thighs as well. You will see a difference in two months, or even sooner if you run and do simple exercises while also eating a well balanced diet. ;-) Good luck
