Make adjustments. A successful weight loss strategy based on reducing calorie intake and increasing activity can be adjusted to maintain your desired weight once you reach it. Unlike typical diets, this method is sustainable -- it is a lifestyle change, not a binge-and-purge exercise. Slowly adjust your diet and exercise to include more weight training and calories, as much as is comfortable for you. If you do gain any weight back, you want that weight to be lean, toned muscle, not fat. In addition, weight training, no matter what your age, prevents muscle atrophy and can help stave off osteoporosis. Instead of thinking of it as losing a certain amount of pounds, think of it as being a certain weight. So if you are 145 pounds, and you would like to lose 10 pounds, think of it as being 135 pounds. This helps you think about it as a long-term goal and not just losing the weight to gain it back again.
Be realistic. Don t expect a miracle. Healthy weight loss can be achieved fairly quickly, but you ll need to be patient. In addition, be sure to set realistic goals. Make sure that the weight you re trying to reach is a healthy weight for you, and keeping in mind that gaining pounds of muscle will help you lose fat, be trimmer, and look better even though you don t actually lose any weight. Your goal should be a healthy body, not a number of pounds! Everyone looks good at a different weight. A short person may look really good at about 112 pounds, but a person of a taller height would just look unhealthy. Keep yourself at a weight that makes you look good, not at a number that sounds good.
Obesity has become a major health problem around the world. Many companies have brought diet pills, medicines, powders and weight-loss belts in the market. Though these products claim to aid weight-loss, the weight reduction is temporary. Besides, the pills and powders can adversely affect your health. Weight loss and weight trainingWe chose to list this separately from the exercise category because of the significant weight loss benefits attached to weight training in and of itself. The basic equation is this: the more muscle tissue you have, the more calories you will burn. This is why world class weight lifters must eat thousands of calories a day to maintain their weight. Muscle is active tissue, fat is not. Thus, muscle burns a significant number of calories each day for its own maintenance. In her book Strong Women Stay Slim, Miriam Nelson, a Tufts University researcher, showed that a group of women who followed a weight loss diet and did weight training exercises lost 44% more fat than those who only followed the diet. While aerobic activity can help burn calories, muscle s where it s at when it comes to giving your metabolism a significant daily boost even at rest.
you ought to think about trying what s called supersetting or Interval Training...which is periods of high intensity work followed by periods of rest or low intensity work. combines both a strength component(for lean tissue building) and a cardiovascular component(for fat burning). this type of training causes an effect known as EPOC...Excess Post(exercise) Oxygen Consumption. the EPOC phenomenon causes an increased rate of oxygen intake, an elevated consumption of fat for fuel and increases your metabolism up to 48 hours AFTER you exercise! burning fat while you rest! Not only does this type of training torch bodyfat, it also saves you time. no more splitting up your days...1 day cardio, 1 day weights...more time for family, friends, work, sports. you also don t need an fancy or expensive equipment to complete these workouts. most of them you can do at home. example:squatspush-upspull-upsplanksdo each exercise for a set # of reps or time back to back without rest in-between. that equals 1 set. rest 30-60 sec then repeat whole sequence. do 3-5 complete sets. you can plug in more exercises(I do one where I pick 10 exercises and do 1 min of each) or mix in different exercises. train this way 3x/week and you will definitely see some results.what you put in your body is important as well. Your body needs all 3 macro-nutrients to survive -- carbohydrates, protein and fat. If you cut out one of those macro-nutrients your body will not function properly and eventually break down. Eat whole, naturally occuring foods. Nothing processed, packaged or anything with added sugar, salt, artificial sweetners or preservatives. Live by this quote: If you can t hunt it, fish it, pick it from a tree, bush or the ground, DON T eat it.
if you have PCOS you should be on birth control pills to regulate your horomones and that will help you lose weight. somethng about PCOS makes your body THINK it s supposed to be 250-260lbsother than that, veggies, fruit, whole grains, lean protein, low suger, low fat, and exercise

The best way is to reduce your calorie intake by 500 calories a day. That is, subtract 500 from the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight. Try using fitday.com/ that will help. I d also try walking about 2 miles a day. You will burn roughly another 200 calories doing this. You ll lose about 6lbs a month this way. And probably more in the beginning with water weight etc. Thats about 30lbs by graduation! This is really the best/safest way to do it. Goodluck!
Eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day Fruits and vegetables are packed with beneficial fibers, vitamins and antioxidants. They fill up your stomach fast so you feel full earlier. They are also low in calories and helps to keep your calorie count low.
When you go with out food your stomach shrinks, and you feel hungry.Sometimes willpower is the greatest gift of all. Try going on a soup diet, try a different one every day so that you will get proper nutrition. Drink V-8, eat lots of fruit to make up for the sugary junk food. Also have fresh veggie snacks.
