How many calories a day? -

I am 5 5 and weigh 137 pounds. I m a 25 year old woman and am not currently pregnant or breast feeding. I have no known health conditions that would cause me to gain or lose weight quickly. I would like to weigh 120 pounds. I am not currently exercising though I m signing up for kung fu lessons this week (yay!). Would a 2000 calorie a day diet be enough to lose weight safely? How many more calories a day will I have to eat but still lose weight if I take (for example) a 1 hour lesson per week? What about exercising 3 times a week for 20 minutes at a time on top of that lesson?I have no interest in fad diets or special weight loss programs. I eat healthy foods, I just eat too much! I have a hard time judging portions, but I m learning. I also don t want to be a half-starved waif. I want to lose weight and get in shape for my health, not for my looks! My student lifestyle isn t the most healthy and active way to live. ;)

This is a tough one to give you an exact answer on. Each person burns calories at a different pace.Each pound is 3500 calories. If you are maintaining at 137, then you need to add exercise or reduce food intake to match your weight loss rate. A pound a week is a decent clip, too fast for some.The key is to moderate your diet. Ok, first a 2000 calorie diet is the supposed daily intake for a woman in general, so if you want to lose weight, you gotta eat less than that. You need a deficeit, so you should aim for about 1500 or so. This is a great webiste and you can enter in different activities and figure out how many calories you are burning from your kung fu and whatever else you are doing. I d cut it by 500 or so a day....1500 calories is a good number if you re trying to lose.... don t go below 1200 though. It takes 3500 calories to lose a lb. of weight. In my opinion 2000 calories is kind of high if you re trying to LOSE--even with exersize. I try to stay 1200-1500 when I ve gained a few extra lbs. You ll lose between 1-2 lbs. a week this way which is a healthy rate. Figure on 5 lbs. a month :)Good luck!

hey well recomended is 2000 calories a day but if you want to lose wieght and take in consideration your excersice well you should take in around 1500 calories a day and no more dont eat after 8 pm cuz then you will feel all bloated in the morning and when you have cravings reach for an apple or some kind of fruit but if you have the muchies wait till your cravings are gone, cravings only last for 15 minutes and sometimes when your tum tum is growling its not always asking for food it could also ask for liquids and its better cuz then you can pee it out later oh and i know it sounds weird but drink teas after you drink they help bring the food down and they help you digest better.

I d go 1900 cals.

Between 1000-1500 calories per day. I use to be 135 and it took my 3 wks to get down to 127. I went hiking every day and gave up meat. GOOD LUCK. I went back to meat and gain 3 pounds.

Is this a healthy weight loss? -

Well after failing many times on a diet. I decided to eat 1800 calories a day which is my maintainance weight calorie goal according to livestrong. And to exercise and burn some calories to still loose weight. Do you think I will actually loose weight with a 1800 calorie goal. Like it might work since I like to eat and get these urges or something to eat and blow off my diet. I m 14 5 3 and 107 pounds. Any tips to keep me from eating. And any foods that will be keep me full the whole day.

first, 107 pounds isnt heavy at all! hahabut yeah that should work,right now on my diet, i only eat when im hungry when commercials come on tv i jog on the spot etc for a while.its way better than sticking to something like that which is hard.oh, i eat whatever i want by the way!but not too much..i dont count caloriesand if i think im eating something fatty i ll only eat a little bit.pretty simple, and find an exercise that you find fun..dancing is cool:)good luck xxoxox

Yeah you can eat but try to make sure it is home made healthy, and not processed. I m 12 5 7 and I way more than you and I do not look fat

An unhealthy liver and weight loss? -

Hi therei understand that the liver is the major organ within the body that plays an essential role in fat loss.A guy at work who has been to a naturopath told me that to lose weight you must detox first. He has lost about 20kgs.I m only a little overweight but i have found it difficult to lose stubborn fat even after strenuous excercise regimes.I have been a heavy binge drinker over the last couple of years. I m starting a weight loss program that comprises of gym and cardio alternated over the 6 day week. Also a plan of eating 6 meals a day, lean protein, lots of vegies, whole grain carbs and fresh vegie and fruit juices. I ll be stopping the ciggarettes and alcohol and drinking mainly water.What do you think? will i still lose alot of weight and get lean without visiting a naturopath and going on herbal drinks?any advice? your own experiences?Thanks

How is my boss loosing weight? -

My manager is doing this weight loss program but I m not sure what it is and I m not sure I feel comfortable asking her. It actually has a center you can go to, similar to Jenny Craig or Curves. She said it is kind of expensive but they gave a promise of loosing 50 lbs by thanksgiving (a few months ago) now it s 30 lbs by thanksgiving. She has packets of supplements that look like jelly that she adds to her water in the mornings and seems to not eat any carbs. Any thoughts as to what program this could be? She s already lost like 12lbs!

Hmmm...my mom goes to some place where they give her packets of food to mix with water and then it turns to food. Shelost a lot of weight really fast too. They also gave her shots of I guess vitmanis or something I dunno. She lost like 40 lbs in a couple months. Mayb its something like taht but I dunno what its called sry...my mom just says shes going to the diet doctor?

Orovo sells their products at wholesale prices to their members. I have only taken the weight loss pills which worked for me, but now I am thinking of getting a few of their muscle builders like Alpha T-1 or Neuroexplode. Has anyone tried any of these? Please let me know. Thanks

I tried their muscle builders, I had used the Alpha T-1 at first but couldnt handle the extra testosterone, neither could my wife, so instead I switched to the NeuroXplode. This stuff blew me away, I could do an extra set no problem, and my work out time instantly increased by 15 minutes. I swear by this stuff, and my body shows it.

I use their facial scrub every day in the morning shower, and at night after i go jogging. It is amazing, I am not sure which one keeps me acne free, but between the two, well, I am. I also use the 7 dfb antime I start to get a couple lbs piling up to spark a quick turn around.

me my mother and my aunt are starting our own weight loss program between the 3 of us we would like to lose about 200 total pounds, and we d like to have a little push something to work towards, but not food related, every 20 lbs. or so... we know once we hit our half way mark we re going to a resort for a weekend, but I would like a little input from all you wonderful people, smaller or larger in value than the weekend get-a-way a nice mix of it all, um, a little more detail, my mom is 44, I m 18 and my aunt is 52... they both want to lose about 50 lbs, and need to lose about 100 lbs. we just started today and would like to get this together... so any help, for incentives, small big or in between... thanks so much!

I ve heard that running intervals (instead of just going at a constant speed for the whole 30 min) burns more fat, so consider that. I d also suggest doing resistance exercises (like crunches) to boost the fat burn over the tummy area.As for what to eat, fiber is the best thing you can have--I try and get at least 5 servings of vegetables per day, because fiber makes you feel full and vegetables don t carry a lot of calories and no fat. Fruit and low-fat dairy are also good (especially as dessert items), and you should start your day with a serving of starch (like a slice of bread), because it ll give you a bit more energy to kick off the day.

Start by cutting off all the junk, pop, and sugars. I mean white, brown, yellow, molasses, honey, syrups, etc. Go to your local health food store and buy Stevia , the powdered form. It is an almost 0 calories sugar substitute from a plant with no side effects like Splenda or similar. This will save you from sugar cravings. Eat sugar free cereal -read the labels-in the morning with fat-fat free milk or Soya milk. Oats is the simplest and add the tip of a teaspoon of stevia and powdered cinnamon. You will learn how much you need. Avoid fruit juices, the body treats them as sugar water, eat the whole fruit instead; always 20 minutes before a meal. If you already ate wait 2 hours. Make sure there is always home made vegetable soup for you. It is very calming for cravings. It is warm so you feel you are having a meal. You may add 1/3 cup of cooked whole wheat noodles to a large bowl of vegetable soup. Easy with the potatoes in the soup, just a little bit is OK.Eat slowly...Over chew all your food. Time yourself so it is no less than 20 minutes from start to finish. Use a teaspoon instead of regular cutlery at home. It is great and is perfect for raw veggies snacks.Find a place with long stairs and climb stairs for 20 minutes to start , then use your one hour. Stretch first very well your legs. Go up crossing the legs, as you step up with the right leg cross it beyond the left foot and vice verse, this is extra work for your inner thighs.
