What am I doing wrong.. how to lose weight? -

Okay.. I m getting an average of 45 min s of exercise 4 days a week. (either an hour at the gym or Jillian Michaels 30 day shred dvd)I drink my waterI journal my food and am staying at around 1,300 calories a day. I ve been doing this for 4 weeks now.. the first week I lost 4 lbs.. since then I ve lost nothing. 3 weeks of watching the diet, getting exercise, drinking my water, and no change. At first I lost a few inches but since then.. nothing.. I haven t budged in the last 2.5 weeks in inches either.So.. what should I change up?

Nothing. Now this will depend on your starting weight, but from the few details you have given I will assume you are not THAT far from your goal weight. In fact you are probably pretty close.Now.. if you are working out that hard, you will build muscle. muscle weighs more than fat so you may not see the scale move or move very little. In fact if you keep this up you may see you weight go up. It will be muscle so dont panic.

You ve probably reached a plateau. Switch up your routine a bit, add different kinds of exercises, increase intensity, etc. You can even stay at the same caloric intake but just switch around what you re eating.Also if all this exercise is a new thing, you re probably building a lot of muscle right now, which weighs more than fat. Keep it up, you ll start to lose again and notice an all-over toned effect.

Will this help me lose weight fast? -

I am eating about 200-400 cals per day and excercising a little (30 min jog and 10 min walk) and I want to lose a bit of muscle and fat. I know muscle is good, but my legs are a bit too muscly. I want to speed my metabolism too, because before i started this my metabolism was quite fast and I don t want it to slow down at all.

Eating 200-400 calories a day will certainly help you lose weight, but not in a healthy way. Plus, it will slow down your metabolism. the 2 best things you can do is 1, count your calories, calories are a measurments of how much energy is in ah food. when you start counting your calories you realize how much you really are eating. to loose weight you should be eating 2,000-1,500 calories ah day, depending on your current weight, height and wether or not you work out.and 2. WORK OUT! get on that treadmill and RUN RUN RUN!!! i can not stress to people enough how important running is. or, if you don t like running, use an elliptical machine, it burns more calories and is easier on your knee s. (plus you get ah nice butt)

A healthy diet and proper exercise will show good results in as little as 6 weeks if you stick with it. Just by substituting water for pop will make you lose a few pounds in 6 weeks. Try eating like 4 or 5 smaller, but healthy meals a day. That will boost you rmetabolism. As for working out, try interval running. It works awesome. Jog for say 3 minutes, then bring it up to a sprint for only 1. Then keep repeating it. Find a distance that you have to push yourself to achieve but not to the point where you cannot complete it at least 4 times a week. Basically what it does is burn a lot of calories in a short period of time, significantly increase your endurance, and it will make jogging very easy if it isn t already, because what you are doing in a sense is tricking your body into believing it is at a resting state every time you go from a sprint to a jog.
