Difficulty losing weight: What could this be a symptom of? -

I have been dieting and religously exercising, and have lost weight before. This time, I KNOW, something is much different. I ve also had my thyroid checked, but the TSH and T4 levels were fine. Only answer this question if you intend on giving me useful information. I do not need advice on how to lose weight, but an answer as to what medical condition could cause difficulty to lose weightThank you in advance.

Could be hormonal. Have you seen an endocrinologist? Sometimes the tests for thyroid can be wrong. Could also be a change in medication taken recently, loss of muscle mass, or increase in the stress hormone as you age. If you are approaching 40, you might want to make sure that you have a protein snack around 2:30 in the afternoon. Stress hormone levels are highest from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., and eating too much carbohydrates during that time increases weight. Too much cardio can make muscle mass decrease, and cause weight gain. (I didnt know that until my doctor told me to up my weight training and reduce cardio) I would see my GP and see a specialist if you are concerned. There are great appetite suppressants available by prescription if you are also in need of that. Hope that helps.

maybe your ust gettting older, there can be a million factors and you didnt give enuff detail. If you work out offten and lsot weight then stop losing weight you may have just hit a platue. There isn t going to be a sickness that will stop u from losing weight, its all the same make sure your calorie intake is low, you calorie burned is high, and keep you matabolism up. your not losing weight bc of something your doing differently, of perhaps you just reached your natural weight.

One of two things. Either your doing something wrong (not going to give you advise, you said you dont want any :D ) or the weight you have is denser than normal, causing it not to go away nearly as quick, and usually to get kinda tighter the more you work out.

Is this a fast, effective way to lose weight? -

I am worried about my weight just recently. I am 16, 5ft7 and weigh about 145 lbs! I am thinking i will start eating a lot less of only healthy foods and no junk at all. Each day i will do 30 minutes of vigorous aerobics and 15 minutes of jumping rope. Will i lose weight? How much weight will i lose over what period of time? Which parts of my body will become toned etc? Any tips or suggestions to lose weight faster? Thanks heaps :)

Drink plenty of water. Adequate water is essential for health, and a great many people simply don t get enough. What s more, if you re chronically dehydrated, your body will retain water in unflattering places, so if you make sure to get plenty of fluids you can start visibly trimming down in as little as a day. Remember, the more you exercise, the more water you ll need. See the related wikiHow for more details on how much water you should be getting.

If you are really serious about losing weight you need to have this method. It worked for me and it is the only weight loss method that lost me 13 pounds in 3 weeks. It works fast and using right info will lose your weight fast . You can get more info here link below.

Well, i would start with smaller portions. Use a small dinner plate instead of a big one, put cookies or chips in a small bowl and only eat that, plus exercise every day. Then slowly, you can replace junk food with fruits and veggies, etc.

Anyone trying to lost weight fast should look into the Acai Berry. It is one of the most nutritional foods on earth. The high vitamins and anti-oxidents in Acai contributes to rapid weight loss.

Go to the site below for great advice on losing weight the healthy way:

How do you lose weight fast for teenagers? -

i am overweight and would like to lose a few pounds i dont want to da crazy har workouts eaither so if you have a few tips please help me out

When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together. If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, whichwill lead to increase of weight, or muscle growunderneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet withoutexercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. Fordiet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no foodafter 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending onyour initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. Ifyou don t eat wheat then you don t eat all those sticky, fatty goeycakes, you don t eat junk food, and you don t eat biscuits. But yourdiet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have tocalculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising, start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is themost efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight alot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack, disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to targetyour problem areas for men and women. It s not necessarily to become abodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help youto target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

Step 1:This one is easy, to lose weight now, you must drink a minimum of 96 ounces of water every day. This will help you eat less and cleanse your body. Step 2:Replace your snacks with fruits and vegetables to lose weight now.Step 3:Exercise daily for at least 30 minutes, make it a date with your friend. Take a brisk walk or jog around the neighborhood. Play a game of basketball or tennis. Try to work towards 60 minutes daily. But, at least get exercise for 4 days of the week if you want to lose weight now - minimum.Step 4:Make a poster for motivation - add your ending weight goal and keep track of your weight loss progress each week.

Welp, your going to need to workout to loose weight. Also, you need to have a HEALTHY and BALANCED diet.(i just did i research paper on this)If you plan out your meals for the day, you can loose up to 3 pounds a week. Stay away from lots of salt, and eat tons of fruit and veggies. Also, DRINK LOTS OF WATER.Drinking a lot of water keeps your body flushed out AND it can also slightly fill you up before meals so you don t eat as much

How come once on atkins,u can have a lot of calories an u can still lose weight fast? -

your not consuming any carbs while on this diet. (breads, pastas, etc) carbs, if left unused in ur system, will turn to sugars then turning to fat. and these types of fat is harder to work off. meat, if lean, is worked off almost right after u eat it.

you are not eating as many carbs. Carbs turn to sugar which your body stores as fat and you will eventually gain weight if you are not exercising to burn excessive calories off.

Atkins puts your body into a state of ketosis, which is an imbalance. It s the same reason that people on strict Atkins have such bad breath body odor. That imbalance is what allows them to lose the weight.

No-one should be on the Atkins diet. It is full of saturated fats which give you much higher risk of heart disease, bowel cancer and multiple sclerosis. If you want to lose weight, I recommend reducing your fat intake instead of your carbohydrate intake. Eat less meat, and more fresh fruit and veg. Pasta and bread are fine in moderation.

I think it works on the premise that if you starve your body of carbohydrates (sugar), it s forced to break down the fat to get the sugar it needs to distribute throughout the body.

Actually, by cutting out carbs, your ARE cutting calories. The body has a limited capability to absorb protein so eating more will not necessarily provide more protein calories. This is why there is so much undigested meat in the average person s large intestines. Also, because the brain, red blood cells, and kidneys need carbs, the body will break down muscle to make the carbs for these vital functions. Uric acid is generated as a byproduct which the body will have to flush out via the kidneys (which are low on fuel). The lost muscle and water account for most of the weight loss on low carb diets. Because both of these are denser than fat, the initial weight loss will be tremendous. However, the lost muscle mass will slow your metabolism and cause you to stop losing weight (just like any other starvation diet). Here is more info on low carb diets.http://www.spartafit.com/articles/low%20

My friend is fat and needs to lose weight fast and eficantly? -

Man boobs chunky belly and everything. I need a way for him to get rid of then fast and eficiant

Help him by not eating junk food when you are with him, go for walks with him, encourage him. There is no fast way, though. Here is some information that might help your friend. Weight loss is an overall process and there are no magic answers. Pay no attention to weight loss supplements and pills and all the latest fads. You need to think about many factors but most of them are related to issues we ve known about for a very long time. There are many sensible things you can do that will make a tremendous difference over the long term if you need to lose weight. It can be done in a healthy way. This is what has worked for me.Keeping a food journal really does help. It will give you a much better sense of how much you are eating, and when, and why.Make a few additional small changes - walk everywhere, always use stairs instead of elevators, walk on escalators, get up and move around at least once an hour if your work or your life in general is sedentary, walk every day, use a pedometer. Walking 10,000 steps a day is a really good idea. Build up to a long brisk walk everyday, or most days. Be more active and watch less TV and spend less time on the computer. Buy one piece of exercise equipment to have at home and be strict with yourself about using it. Sometimes you can find mini-steppers or exercise bikes at second hand stores and thrift stores for just a few dollars.Start a weight lifting routine. Join a gym. Possibly you can find one that has someone who specializes in weight lifting programs for beginners. Weight lifting will increase your metabolism as well as improve posture and appearance overall. Even if you can t get to the gym you can work out at home using things around the house. Invest in a good weight training book. The Dummies series actually has a good one. In terms of diet, cut out or reduce things like junk food, pop, fat, fast food. Eat more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean meat, fish. Particularly if you choose a vegetarian lifestyle include natural peanut butter, hummus, dried fruit and nuts. Pay close attention to getting the nutrients your body needs to be healthy. Make your portion sizes smaller. Use a smaller plate - in our society we have become accustomed to thinking that we need a large plate of food at every meal, and we don t. About quarter of your plate of food should be protein and at least half of it should be veggies. Learn to count calories. At your current weight and activity level, you may possibly need about 2000 calories or more to maintain your current weight. So you will lose weight at a reasonable and healthy rate if you cut back to about 1600 or 1700 calories a day. Eat small amounts frequently, rather than three large meals. Never skip breakfast. Include some protein in your breakfast. It will help get you through the day.Drink plenty of water, at least 8 big glasses of water a day, and more if it is very hot, if you sweat a lot, or if you are exercising intensely, and eliminate fruit juices. Fruit juices have too many calories, so get your vitamins from fresh fruit, not the juice. You will begin to see changes in your body. An area that many people overlook is getting enough sleep. You are much more likely to overeat or to binge eat if you are tired and not well rested, so get enough sleep.Check out websites about nutrition, exercise, weight training, etc. Here are a few helpful links.http://www.nutrawatch.com/http://www.caloriesperhour.com/http://www.helpguide.org/life/healthy_eahttp://www.wikihow.com/Lose-Weight-the-Hhttp://weightloss.about.com/cs/fitness/ahttp://www.webmd.com/fitness-exercise/fe

How can I lose weight fast? -

I am going back to school (I ll be a highschool junior) in a week. I gained about 25 pounds over the summer, and I need to get back to where I was (or at least close) by Aug. 30. I am not interested in weight loss pills or eating disorders. I want tips for dieting and staying fit. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, that much weight in just a few days is pushing it. Don t be discouraged, though, as you CAN get that weight off, it is just going to take a couple more months than expected. You must have the calorie-reduced diet and exercise. There s only one safe way to lose weight effectively, and that is to eat a LITTLE less (by 200-400 calories) than the amount of calories you need to use in a day. If you eat too much less, you body goes into fat storage mode, and any attempts at starving yourself will backfire, as you will get fat quickly again when you start eating again. Go to the site below to get info on how many calories you need in a day, and what your ideal weight range is for your age and height. You can enter your personal information and get a free report.http://www.nutritiondata.com/calories-buYou need to learn how to read food labels and count calories. It takes a little getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it makes all the difference. Once you learn how to do this, not only will you get the weight off, but you will be able to keep it off for good! Some quick tricks to get you started:Switch from pop to water (flavored sugar-free waters have kept me going as I lost weight!)Cut the the 4 C s of cookies, cake, chocolate and chips (Oh the agony, I know! But once you have lost weight, add them again in moderation.)Weigh your food to find out what serving sizes are normal. Many food labels contain normal serving sizes, although some of them are a little on the large size. Then, eat a little less than the normal serving size to lose weight.Make healthy choices in restaurants, and share your meals with a friend. Restaurant serving sizes are notorious for being two to three times larger than a normal serving size.

dont fast just eat well run every morning and lift weights. Also it is unhealthy to lose a lot of weight so fast

Follow the healthy food pyramid and moderate exercise atleast 30mins a day do something fun like basketball surfing bmx riding something that you are able to stick to.There is no quick fixes that last look for a manageable long term approach. You should NOT lose more that 2 or 3pounds per week and not comsume less than 1200 calories!

I know tthat if you follow the South Beach Diet that in the first two weeks, you can lose up to 12 lbs and then after that it is usually about 1 or 2 lbsevery week. The South Beach Diet is pretty restricted in the very beginning but you begin to add carbs later on in the diet. If you get the book and read it and follow what it says, you WILL lose the weight and be healthy.

You can t without hurting yourself. If you diet and exercises intelligently you may be able to knock off 5 or so pounds by the time school starts again.

Eat less and move more. Though, there is no physically healthy way to lose 25 pounds by the end of August. A weightloss like that would take upwards of 12 weeks.

You can hand me that cupcake, ill eat it.

eating disorder is bad for your body. you might want to exercise and eat healthy food. lay off the junk and fatty foods.

There is no short cut...it takes discipline...Changing the composition of your body all starts with diet. Check out http://theblogformen.com/a-healthy-mans- for a some general guidelines. Getting the diet in check is the first step. The next step is to add in exercise. You need to start slowly with what you can handle: walking, light jog, biking, swimming, light weightlifting, and continue to improve. I would shoot for 3-4 workouts a week with about 30 minutes per session. You should keep the exercise varied so you don t get bored with it...no need to bang out hours on the treadmill. One of the most valuable things you can do is keep track of your diet and workouts in a notebook. Write down EVERYTHING you eat and drink, and record your workouts. This gives a reality check real quick.Another useful post:http://theblogformen.com/4-simple-steps-If you do these things, you will see the fat melt away. go in your room and blast some music. then time yourself. jog in place or around your room for 5-10 minutes. then do some push-ups, sit-ups, crunches, etc. then do squats to the beat of the song you are listening to. also do not eat more than 600 calories a day. i just started last week. i lost 7 lbs so far! no joke. no lie. i promise it works!

well I am on Weight Watchers, and I have lost 12 pounds, and it is really working for me, it is healthy, and you will keep it off.

Diet and exercise. It is not a fast process. You should only be losing 1-2 lbs. per week. If you do it healthy you are more likely to lose it and keep it off. Gimmicks do not work!
