How can I get an accurate calorie useage count for this exercise? -

I m on this weight loss program where I m supposed to be increasing and monitoring my calorie intake and outputs... Anyhow, part of the program involves increasing my physcial activity and I ve noticed that I have a tough time getting to the gym... What about sex? I m much more motivated to have sex. Is it a good workout? I mean, I sometimes see this generic number of calories that is supposedly used in sex, but it really doesn t account for variance in intensity and time. How can I get an accurate count of the calories used for my weight loss program?

A very helpful tool in loosing weight or training for a sport event is a heart rate monitor. There a very different heart rate monitors, with very different prices, some top over 300 dollars, while others are about 25. It depends on what you need it for, I think a good heart rate monitor that tells you how many calories you burn is the right choice for you. There are some that you have to strap around the waist, while others just come as a watch. That s what I would do to see exactly how many calories I burned during sex, as a matter of fact, that s not such a bad idea.

Its really, really unlikely that you re burning enough calories during sex to matter, unless there are several people, ropes, and suspension devices involved. If you re really serious about getting a measurement, wear a heartrate monitor with an average function, and compare it to the calorie number you get at the same heartrate on the elliptical machines or bikes at the health club. I d be astounded if you got a number bigger than 100 calories.I have a friend with a heart rate monitor who tried this...... I don t recall the numbers, but it wasn t much.

there are these things, and they count the calories that you burn. sorry i dont know what theyre called.
