Looking to go on a safe and effective quot;crashquot; diet? -

I know crash diets are bad. i know most don t actually work and most people end up losing muscle mass and slowing down their metabolisms. However, I m not looking to completely starve myself.I need a program that i can use for a week or two that won t starve me completely or drive me insane but that will get the job done without damaging other parts of my body. I plan on losing a ;arge amount of weight at first, then taking a more slowly paced route. I m looking to manage my eating in addition to a simple exercise program, so if anybody knows some effective and easy in-home workouts that will burn a lot of calories it would be greatly appreciated.Bottom line is, I m looking to lose a substantial amount of weight over a period of time, but need to lose a significant amount within the first few weeks. I m not interested in blowing hundreds of dollars on a weight loss program or exercise program. Thanks in advance!

Starvation diets can be safe if medically supervised. I have been on a vegetarian starvation diet which is sponsored by our state University for the past 14 weeks and have lost 50 pounds. I plan to lose another 90 pounds. This is the link to the program I use;http://weight.uams.edu/patients/I eat Health One meal replacements;http://www.myhealthone.com/This is a long term program and not for those who just want to drop 15 pounds to look better for a date or class reunion. I know that similar programs are available around the country. Perhaps a place to start would be the Health One website to inquire about programs which use their service. I cannot overemphasize the need for medical supervision while on a starvation diet. It works and is ultimately safer and better than gastric bypasses or lap bands. If you are a serious dieter, you also need to modify your eating habits through a behavior modification program, otherwise you will end up back where you started. Don t try to do a diet by yourself because you will fail. The best support site I have found is;http://www.sparkpeople.com/This website is great for support and also describes in detail any exercises dieters should be using. Hope this helps.

no such thing as a crash diet long term is better the faster you lose the faster you gain.plan your diet count your calories, jog for one hour drink water eat healthy.and do some lite weight lifting.to help your body tone up.there is no rush in losing weight fast.

Junk the carbs, only allow yourself 1 meal a day that has carbs in it Eg. if you have a sandwich for lunch don t have potatoes for tea.Carb s are sugars and a few well known ones are: Bread, Potatoes, sugar (that means non diet fizzy drinks), also try and eat more regularly but smaller portions oh and eat chicken and fish (not fried) instead of red meat. and i m being hypocritial here but up the veg :) a good tip is not to buy pre packed things as these are often high in salt, sugar and fat.

Here are six simple tips that will have you losing weight in a balanced and healthy way.1. Lose weight with water.Water is essential for everybody - it is also the key to losing weight. If you haven t been drinking enough water, your body has developed a pattern of storing water. This water retention equals extra unwanted weight.By drinking more water, you are not only flushing out toxins, you are also teaching your body that it no longer needs to store water. Drink at least 60 ounces of water (about 8 glasses) a day. Boil water and sliced lemons, and drink this throughout the day to help with fluid retention. If you are still not sold on the merits of water, try this on for size: water is a natural appetite suppressant.2. Soup up your weight loss program.A simple dietary change will have you shedding pounds: eat a bowl of soup at least once a day. Nutritious, low-salt soups will nourish you as they flush waste from your body. People who eat a serving of soup daily lose more weight than those who eat the same amount of calories but don t eat soup. Go for homemade soup whenever possible, as canned soups are loaded with salt and chemicals.3. Eat early to keep weight off.The human body follows a circadian rhythm, which means that the same foods eaten at breakfast and lunch are processed differently than when eaten at dinner. Studies show that when you eat your daily protein and fat at breakfast you tend to lose weight and have more energy; however, eating the same things at dinner tend to increase tendencies toward weight gain. I suggest that you eat your last meal of the day by 7 p.m.4. Eat smaller meals, more frequently.Follow an eating schedule with five little meals every day. Eating steadily through the day keeps you from becoming famished and overeating at your next meal. Make a low-fat trail mix from raw almonds, pumpkin seeds, dried plum, and apples and have it available at all times to avoid the tempting lure of high-calorie snacks.5. Adopt a balanced approach to your diet. Most of the fad diet programs out there nowadays are extreme in a few recommended foods, or else deprive the body of food altogether. This works in opposition to our metabolism and the results usually don t last, producing a yoyo effect that depresses your metabolic function - not to mention your self-esteem. We are natural beings that need a balance of nutrition from all sources.Your diet should consist of a balance of organic sources of lean protein, complex carbohydrates, whole grains, legumes, nuts, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of white rice and pasta, opt for brown rice, bulgur, millet, or buckwheat.Eat more green, chlorophyll-rich foods such as broccoli, kale, spinach, and asparagus. Eliminate candy, sugar, soda, and all simple sugars from your diet. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body, which results in weight gain. Also, keep dairy to a minimum because most dairy products are high in saturated fat. Avoid fatty foods, processed or fried foods.6. Walk off the weight. The No. 1 cause of weight gain is inactivity. Physical activity is the key to speeding up your metabolism and burning excess calories. The best way to be physically active is to use your legs! Walk as often and as long as you can. Always take the stairs instead of the elevator.Step outside during your break at work and take a walk around your building. Consider joining a local hiking club. Try taking a walk 30 minutes in the morning or 30 minutes in the early evening.I hope this article helps you shed some pounds and add on the years! its dangerouse to go on any crash diet, i no from experience, dont do it its not safe, just exersize more and cut back a little (NOT ALOT!!) its very dangerouse you will lose muscle and matabolism do crunches with your legs together and lifted off the ground. then lean back until you feel your abs start to burn and do crunches just like that, you will really feel the burn and it is very affective, good luck ?

simple answer - there is no safe crash diet!!!!

Get a pilates DVD. You will be amazed at the changes you feel in your body within a week of using it!

well you would be better off eating healthy instead of a specific diet. eat lots of fruit veggies low fat protein. drink alot of water eat frequently to keep your metabolism up. 5 or 6 small meals a day. I like to walk for excersize, but running would burn more calories. join a gym, alot of the workout equipment tells you right then there how many calories you re burning. good luck.
