How to lose weight by ketogenic diet? -

what do u have 2 eat to go into ketosis??what makes u get out of ketosis??and x]can anyone give me a 1 week diet of what to eat on a ketogenic diet?(i would like it better if people that actuallt tried AND lost weight from this diet to answer)thanks

@spalmer: Since when does a ketogenic diet require starvation? I end up starving later on my normal diet (not that great) if I include lots of rice or bread (carbs). Also, a proper ketogenic diet is low in fat as well and high in both protein and fiber. Grilled chicken with broccoli is a perfect example of this.Anyways, yes, ketogenic diets work well as long as you eat the proper things, just like any other diet. I prefer ketogenic diets over others, because they keep you fuller longer using relatively small portions. It s recommended to drink lots of water as well and helps to take a multivitamin every day just in case. Basically fish/chicken/lean beef and any non-starchy vegetables (corn, potatoes are out) are good choices to include in your diet. Almonds are good to snack on between meals and lunchmeat/cheese wraps work well also. Combine this diet with exercise and you can easily lose 2-3 pounds a week, depending on your size. Increase the amount of protein you consume if you want to build muscle. If you want to get in ketosis, minimize your carb intake to around 30-60 a day. To get out, simply eat carbs again.

Actually, if you research any of the websites that pops up when you google ketogenic diet they all say that it is HIGH in fat and that it cause the body to go into starvation which is why you burn fat before carbs. I have seen this diet in action for many years (12) for a client (severe seizures) Report Abuse

My first question would be are you crazy? The ketogenic diet is a starvation diet that is very high in fat and is used to control severe seizures disorders. Why on earth would you use it to lose weight? Exercise and eat right, instead of trying to starve yourself.
