Eat as much natural food as possible. Substitute tea and coffee for water. Have a good breakfast eg muesli with nuts, fruit and seeds or porridge. Salad for lunch (lots of it) with lean meat or fish. Eat same tea as rest of family but watch the carbs eg don t have too much pasta, rice, potatoes or bread. Don t have second helpings. Eat fruit or nuts when you are peckish between meals. Cut down any alcohol or soft drinks that you have - drink water when you go out - everyone will get used to it. Don t make a big thing about dieting or losing weight. Weigh yourself once at the start and then don t weigh yourself again for at least three months. Expect it to be slow but it doesn t matter because this will become a way of eating for life. I lost three stone in 15 months doing this. by sticking to that way of eating I have kept the weight off for a further 18 months.
