I really need to lose some weight. Advice? -

I m 13 years old, 1.67 meters tall and I weight about 73 kilograms. My BMI is 26, and I know it s not healthy at all. I know exercise and stuff will help, but I live in a big city and I just can t find the time and I keep getting more and more worried. Any advice on how to lose weight?

Start reading Shape magazine. There is plenty of advice and motivating tips every month. I lost 30 kg and put on weight never again.

Alright. Follow this plan. I should be getting paid lol! :]1) Sleep early and wake up early.2) Wake up and have a banana and a glass of fat free milk.3) Run for an hour [at a city park].4) Come home and just do your daily activities.5) Have lunch. It should include fruits and vegetables. Have a grilled chicken or fish. No BEEF or PORK!6) Do jumping jacks or jump rope for an hour. In front of a TV or music [to pass time].7) Drink 8 glasses of water everyday.8) Do this routine until you lose weight. Keep doing it. Persevere! :)And the Best of LUCK to you! :))

go to a club like me (i do water polo) with a friend. get fit with friends. and remember your growing so ur gna go out then grow. growing by just an inch can change your bmi dramaticly. muscle weighs more than fat remember that. a body builder has a bmi of 35 in some cases but they re not obese. 26 is not that bad and ur growing. just get fit and be healthy. measure your figure by your favourite pair of jeans not how much u weigh.

hmm...how do u expect 2 loose weight without exercising???den i d advice u 2 reducing ur calory intake....if u don t want 2 go out 2 do exercise try 2 do a few at home...like pushes ups crunches..or lift some weights...tat wud help i feel...

Calories aren t everything. Timing of meals and planned exercise and the right kinds of foods are just as important as the amount of calories. My suggestion for weight loss is to diet. Don t crash diet. 99.99% of crash diets don t work. Because when the body is starved and deprived of food, the body slows down the metabolism, so it burns body fat at a much slower pace than usual. Then when you start eating again, you will probably go on a binge and eat the equivalent calories and portion of food comparitive to several meals, therefore no weight loss will occur.Foods generally high in carbs are bread, pasta, cakes, flour (anything with high flour content), sugar, potatoes. Anything that is filling contains plenty of carbohydrates. Low GI Foods are also good, especially when dieting. My suggestion for a good, healhy diet would be to eat 4 - 5 SMALL meals a day, making the overall calary intake and portions of meals equivalent to a standard daily intake of food. Eating 4 - 5 small meals a day will keep your metabolism burning fast, because it is never deprived of food, and never overwhelmed of food and bloating will not occur. Try eating wholegrains and cut down arificial sugar intake. Natural sugar, such as the sugar in apples is much healthier than processed sugar found in chocolate, lollies, etc. Soft drinks are to be strictly limited or prohibitied as they contain a large amount of artificial syrup, which gives soft drink the smooth flavour. Stay away from that. Drink 6 - 10 glasses of water per day to help digest food. Fish is also good. It has essential vitamins and oils (healthy oils, but still fatty and intake should be limited).Alcohol. Alcohol is full of carbs, especially sugar. The yare unneeded calories. Instead of drinking beer, or buying premix drinks, buy a bottle of his favourite alcoholic drink in a bottle, and buy diet soft drink to mix it with. Whilst the alcohol still contains calories, many calories are lost in the loss of sugar from the change to diet soft drinks. I personally do this, even though I am not dieting. I just constantly cut down sugar anywhere I can. One thing that may turn him off diet drinks is that it seems to be sterotypical for diet drinks to be feminine and for gay people although this isn t true, more than likely just an excuse to drink normal soft drinks.Exercise moderately. Good exercise includes runnning (preferable running, not run-walk-run-walk), walking, swimming, cycling, aquaaerobics or aerobics + more. 30 minutes of daily exercise plus a well balanced diet should see you losing weight, whilst enjoying a healthy and fun lifestyle. Doing some light weights should tone you. So try 20 minutes of light weights every day, and you should have good weight loss and see the results quickly. However no one can tell how long it will take you to lose the weight. It all depends on your body and your genetics, etc. One more personal trick i use is drink diet energy drinks, or just diet soft drinks. They raise your energy level with the caffeine / guarana or whatever is in them. However, when caffeine is taken, it is best to not eat within one hour of caffeine consumption. Caffeine, when taken without meal, slightly raises the metabolism, burning fat faster than usual, however when taken with food, it slows the metabolosm slightly. I personally like to drink sugarfree V energy drinks, because i get an energy boost without any calories. Pepsi max or coke zero / diet coke are also good. But just watch the caffeine levels. If you follow this diet for a few months (the actual time varies from person to person, because of their metabolic rate, etc), you should see immediate results, with results following. However, a common mistake is that when a diet is finished, the dieter goes back to their old eating habits again, and regains alot of the weight. permanent life style changes MUST be made for this to be a permanent success. But good luck, if your worried, see a doctor.Hope i helped.
