Espresso to get me going - good or bad? -

im on a weight loss program at the moment, low carb (except for one grapefruit) and about 4-5 cups of espresso, to give me energy. i dont have time to waste im getting married in 4 weeks and i have to lose 3 dress sizes. so on top of this i am doing 3 sets of 30 mins cardio a day..is it ok as its only for a month?

Caffeine is still under debate about its effects on weight loss, all i know is the purpose of caffeine in nature is to kill insects that are trying to eat the plants it comes from (mainly coffee plant and tea bush). So basically, its a pesticide. Nobody is going to tell me it has health benefits. I would replace the espresso with water. If you are exercising, drop the low carb diet - the atkins (low carb) diet is for couch potatoes. If you are exercising your body needs complex carbs for fuel to burn, so you can lose weight. Whole grains, fruit, and vegetables are your friends. Add some resistance training (bands or weights) to your routine to build muscle, the more muscle you have the more calories you burn - even when you are sitting still or sleeping. But yeah, 3 sizes in a month - Ill be crossing my fingers for you - and congradulations by the way!

You d do better to trim down using exercise. If you are doing gym work, concentrate on the equipment that tones your waist, hips and legs, and strength equipment for your upper body. This should end up with you loosing dress sizes and be a more toned shape as well.If you don t have gym membership, try running and situps.Drop the espresso and drink water instead. Eat enough carbohydrates to give you long-term energy.3 dress sizes is a little extreme, and a bit ambitious in 4 weeks, not to mention unhealthy.I m sure you know that you should have started all this at least a year ago.....

i don t know how old you are, which would make a difference.it s not going to kill you, but i m not sure it s going to work either! 3 dress sizes in 4 weeks is hard to attain even if you re Gandhi and you re completely starving. Why did you buy a dress three sizes too small?Maybe if you lose 1-2 sizes you can buy a corset to suck everything else in.But for my money, this is a little bit of a crazy plan. And I say that as someone who has lost a lot of weight in life. Sorry to be a naysayer, but I think you know this is extreme.

I need to lose weight ? -

I m 5 9 165 lbs. That IS in healthy range, but it s at the top of the healthy range. I want to get healthier. I m getting married in October and I want to look my best, but that isn t the only reason I want to lose weight. I want to generally be healthier. WE both need to lose weight.We don t have money to join a gym or join any kind of weight loss program.Any easy cheap suggestions to lose weight would be great!We both want to get healthier!

Invest in a bike and you and your hubby-to-be can ride together, at least 30 minutes a day. Cut the JUNK!!!... Most of all, excuses are made by those who don t want to push themselves. Talk to a nutritionist and/or fitness instructor on some easy exercise routines. i say you use what you have at home like do 3 sets of 10-12 reps curling a gallon of water, be creative. Daily chores around the house is a great calorie burner like vacuuming, washing the car, gardening, It all takes time and patience...

Besides finding other exercises that you are interested in doing, the other thing you can do is change the way you eat.Some ideas:1) Use smaller plates. (Get seconds if you want, but having the initial small plate may signal to your brain that you are fuller!)2) Portion control (don t let your stomach decide when you are full.3) Eat for fibrous food (like green veggies) or use a fiber supplement.Also with exercise -- try walking to do some of your chores instead of your car and also if you have a bike that should be easier on your ankles.If you live in a warm area, try to get outside and not veg :-)GOOD LUCK!!!

Make some dumbbells out of water bottles and use sandbags to exercise with.

Put on some sneakers and go for a jog.Sit ups.Yoga.Celery.

Weight loss tips that actually work? -

im 14, about 5ft. 1in.- 2in. and about 125-130.so basicly short and chubby. i was just looking for some tips or exersises that would help me slim down but keep my curvstips other than the drink a lot of water, and cutt down on your food take in. well im italian and cutting down on the food isnt as easy as it seems although i have been getting better with it.so any advise will do...thank you!

At your age, the absolute best thing you can do is DANCE! Honey dance your little heart out. Dance till you sweat. Dance and laugh and sing as if no one is watching you get creative with it. Another thing to do is just really love who you are. Be in love with life everyday. Don t let anyone tell you, that your are anthing but abolutely FABULOUS! because each and every one of us is absolutely fabulous. That frame of mind is positively infectious and you will have more friends than you can dance with. don t think about your weight. Just use common sense when you eat. And love every single minute of your life.

Pastas and breads are extremely high in calories, but if cutting it out of your diet is impossible, try switching to whole grain. It is less calories, but still tastes great. How do I stay committed? -

How can I stay committed to a weight loss program when entering senior schooling years? I would really like to lose around 10kg and tone up before summer (about 2 months I have) but assignments are piling up and exams are starting soon, so do you have any tips on how to stay committed to a weight loss program?

Break your weight loss up into smaller goals, so rather than saying i want to lose 10kg in 2 months break it up into 2 week periods and set smaller goals. This way you will achieve the smaller goals and you will still have the 10kg to aim for.
