there are 3500 calories in a pound. to lose 5 pounds you would need to reduce your weekly caloric intake by 3500x5=17500 calories (check my math there, i did it in my head.) so if you re eating 2000 calories a day, according to my math, you couldn t lose 5 pounds in a week because you re only eating 14000 calories a week anyway. you d have to not eat at all, and exercise.

If you want to lose weight, the maximum calories you are eating a day should be 1,600! Preferably 1200-1500 or 1300-1600 if you are a guy. well you can t eat 2000 calories a day AND burn 3000 calories a day. i would shoot for 500 calories a day, thats a good cardio workout.and if you start to get hungry, eat small snacks high in protein.
