You probably don t need to lose weight, but that wasn t your question and I know how you feel (I m 16, 5 2 and 124lbs, with the same weight goal). If you re like me, you aren t really fat, but you know you would look better to lose about ten pounds. Walking to burn calories is good. Running works your abs more and I think it burns body fat better, but if you don t have good running shoes, it can really screw up your knees. Also, sit-ups and crunches aren t that effective. They will give you muscles, true, but all that is pointless if there is still fat covering it up. You have to get rid of fat by changing your diet to healthy foods (the less processed, the better) and moderate exercise. Keep in mind carbs (like bread) are starches and do store themselves as fat when you don t get enough exercise. Still, the Atkins diet is REALLY unhealthy, especially for teenagers. If you can do all that religiously, then you ll be good in about two months I d say. KEEP IN MIND, It is only healthy to lose about 1-3 lbs. a week. If you re losing way more than that, cut back some for health s sake. The last thing you want is people thinking you have an eating disorder, believe you me.
I DO NOT THINK YOU NEED TO LOSE ANY WEIGHT. THAT HEIGHT AND THAT WEIGHT ARE FINE. HOWEVER, YOU SAY YOU EAT ABOUT 1500-1700 CALS A DAY. DO YOU ACTUALLY WRITE EVERY CAL DOWN THAT YOU EAT? DO YOU DRINK SODAS. EACH REGULAR SODA HAS THE EQUIVALENT OF 13 TEASPOONS OF SUGAR IN. DO YOU EAT LOTS OF GREEN VEGGIES AND FRUIT? DO YOU STEER AWAY FROM THE SIMPLE CARBS? I THINK MAYBE YOU ARE NOT SURE HOW MUCH YOU ARE EATING. IF YOU DO AS MUCH TREADMILL AS YOU SAY AND ONLY EAT 1500-1700 A DAY YOU WOULD LOSE WEIGHT.ALSO TREADMILL WORK IS VERY BORING. BETTER TO GET OUTSIDE AND WALK IN THE FRESH AIR. THERE ARE HILLS AROUND THAT YOU CAN WALK AND YOU CAN VARY THE ROUTE AND TAKE IN NATURE AT THE SAME TIME. GOOD LUCK.
uuummm sounds like you dont even need to lose weight!

Drink A LOT of water!!
