After my first baby I ate less than 20 grams of fat a day.I would eat cereal with skim milk, yogurt, fat free cottage cheese on my salad instead of dressing, tuna or skinless chicken breast for my meat and lean cuisines. For a sweet tooth, fat free pudding, angelfood cake or devils food cookie cakes.I never did count calories just fat.And I of course exercised to tone up.I love to swim,it s a full body work out that doesn t feel like work. With a new baby it wasn t easy to go swimming so I would use a stair stepper and do crunches. In three months I was a size 5 and in six months I had a six pack and was a size 3.I m pregnant now and this will become my routine again.Hope this helps.
Hi there, I m certainly no expert but have read a great deal about how to lose weight in a healthy way. The first thing to remember is to be patient Rome was not built overnight when dieting and exercising to reduce weight. Don t believe these quick fix diet plans that promise to reduce weight practically overnight. No one wants to hear that it takes time to reduce but all good things come to those who are patient and set a goal and work at change. The key to losing weight is eat healthy and smaller portions - you must burn more calories than you take in. In other words get up and walk, run, lift weights, bike ....anything that moves your body more than you are doing right now. Do not expect to see change in your weight right away. Be patient but don t stop - it s a life time committment and a life style change that will bring you the results you want. I don t believe you can just lose your stomach without losing overall body weight. But you can target your stomach to flatten it with situps added to your current excersice plan and goal. But remember muscle weighs more than fat and if you begin now to workout using weights (if you cannot get to a gym use whatever is available - 3lb canned food works great to start with by lifting them in an arm curl, or overhead for your shoulders or by holdling while doing squats) you will see results. Just eat healthy but smaller portions - no fat - and up your movement more and more each day. You can do it but be patient when looking for results, it takes time. LP

The way not to do it is starve yourself, to start with. Just exercise and eat right. I did....lost 90 LBS because of it. Starving yourself won t help at all. Drink more water, eat less before bed, and don t eat for stress are the 3 things I follow and i m going pretty well if i don t say myself. 90 LBS isn t anything like 5-10lbs so take my advice. If you want anymore details, feel free to email me. ~Adia
To maintain a healthy lifestyle get in shape try this:Try making small changes, if you really love a certain food that is ok, just cut down your portions, you don t need to deprive yourself to be healthy. As for your overall diet try to cut down on your calories, eat lean protein, and whole grains - bread is not bad, so long as it is whole grain high in fiber, also eat your veggies drink lots of water. Also lean calcium products such as yogurt, low fat milk cheese fill up with low calories high nutrition content. Cut out saturated monosaturated fats excess sugarFor snacks I eat a lot of fruit veggies as snacks, baby carrots, snap peas, grape tomatoes, grapes, berries, peaches. I also love the Flat Earth veggie fruit chips, Quaker ranch rice cakes, popcorn, whole grain crackers, dark chocolate, blue diamond nut thins string cheese. These are all small snacks with low fat low calories. It is best to eat 1200-1500 calories per day, if you eat less than this your metabolism will slow down, making it harder to lose weight. NO fast food. don t drink empty calories, stick to water, low cal juices (I mix 100% juice w/25% water to lower calories) low fat milk. no soft drinks (diet or regular) no eating unless you are hungry! That being said, never underestimate the power of a good workout routine. In order to be healthy you MUST make time to exercise. Not exercising is not an option if you want to be healthy.Lots of Cardio weight training. do 30-45 minutes of strength training 3-4 times per week followed by 45-50 minutes of cardio 5-6 times per week. do your strength training 1st, it burns more calories. I also do loads of crunches prior to after cardio. Also walk more during the day. Take a walk on your lunch break, walk to the store, aim for 10,000 steps per day a pedometer is a great idea. The more active you are the more calories you will burn the more weight you will lose.To stay healthy not get discouraged remember this:It is not recommended that you lose more than 2-3 pounds per week. Rapid weight loss can be dangerous is hard to maintain. losing weight is difficult because 1 lb is 3500 calories, so you must burn 3500 calories per pound you want to lose. If you really want to lose the weight you are going to have to use discipline work hard. Your health is worth it!
Unfortunately there s really no way to lose weight from one specific area. The only way to make your waist smaller is to lose weight from your whole body. But don t starve yourself!! It ll only make matters worse in the long run. Just try cutting back some. For example, if you usually drink whole milk, try skim milk. Eat fewer snacks and sweets. Take a 15-minute walk every day. You ll see results soon enough!
go for a bike ride every day - to and from school or work?and cut your calorie intake down to 1600.if you keep this up, you ll lose about 1.5lbs of fat each week - the HEALTHY way.FYI, it s 3500 calories to a pound - in both losing and gaining.so for every 3500 excess calories you burn, you lose a pound.and for every 3500 excess calories you consume, you GAIN a pound.
