How can I lose weight? -

I m 5 5, 165 lb. size 12, 17 year old girl. I ve tried slim fast, eating healthy, working out at the gym every day. I ve even tried diet pills-trimspa, hydroxycut, lean balance, and the maggie drozd weight loss program. Nothing works. I ve never managed to lose weight with any diet. I m thinking my body doesn t want to lose weight and i m always gonna look like this. Any ideas?

Run every day. It really helps.

Try visiting your doctor and asking for a thyroid test. Sometimes there are problems in that area that have to be corrected before you can lost weight.

Well first of all let me just clarify that diet pills will never work, no matter which brand you consume, they are all fake. Some might boost your metabolism due to high amounts of caffeine and some other extracts but thats about it. To lose weight the best thing to do is cardio exercise e.g. running, cycling. You can also try converting fats into toned muscles as muscles use up more energy. Dieting from personal experience never works. If you starve your body your metabolism slows down and anything you eat afterwards is just stored as fat into your body. You might want to calculate how much calories you are consuming daily and how much calories does your body burn. If your consuming more then obviously you will gain weight so try to balance it out. As far as what to eat, I would advise you to consume low-fat foods with less carbs, avoid sugar if you can. Hope this helps you out a bit

i know how you feel. but when you exercise it takes about 2 months before you see any changes b/c your body has to adjust to get used to the changes your making and then you wil start seeing a difference. so just eat about 1500 caloreis a day and dont eat any fats, or sweets that are unhealthy, only salad dressings and stuff like that. eat lots of fruits and veggies, and eat grilled fish and chicken for dinner. and get at least 30 minutes of ecxercise a day at least 5 times a week!

Try low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein, and exercise. The foods are low caloried, and yet filling and healthy. It is my lifestyle now. I am on low carb, low fat, high fibre, high protein and a hour brisk walk 5 times a week, and I have lost 31lbs/14kg and gained better health. I am now maintaining my 108lbs/49kg for more than a year, with more fruits and complex carbs.Details such as my experience, meals, recipes, foods to buy, reading labels, walking as an exercise and to shape the body etc etc, are in my blog.Xiaozhen

Just relax. You probably reached what is called plateau often occurs because the difference between energy intake and energy expenditure gradually balances. The human body must restore energy balance to survive, imagine the consequences if a human kept losing weight because he/she couldn t find enough food! Our body has physiological mechanisms in place which help maintain energy balance relatively quickly. If you have already lowered calories too much there is still chance to re-adjust dietary intake to help boost the metabolism back into fat burning mode and limit further loss of lean weight. One technique which many top bodybuilders use is the Zig Zag method, the most effective Zig Zag comprises a 3 day cycle of calories below maintenance level, then a day of maintenance level calories.Keep your calorie btw. 1200-1000 daily please, and increase you physical activity.
