How long do you think I should plan to lose 100 lbs? -

I currently weigh 245 pounds. I want to cut down to 145-150. How much time should I space this out over to make sure it s healthy weight loss?

I would try for at least a year. I m pretty much in the same boat as you are, and working towards the same goal. 1-2 pounds per week is the safest/healthiest way to go about it. 52 weeks in a year and 2 pounds per week gives you 104 pounds. The last thing we want to do is lose it all too quickly (as nice as that would be!) and then gain it back and then some. Good luck :)

Woah 6 3 and you want to be 145-150?? That s a bit extreme. Anyway, to lose it healthy-- you should target 2 lbs. per week for the first 50 lbs., and then 1 lb. per week for the last 50. So to lose it healthy, you re looking at about 75 weeks, or 18 months. If you really want to push yourself, marines, professional athletes who train 2-3 hrs per day and diet religiously can lose up to 3 lbs. per week. Which means you will lose the 100 lbs. in 8-10 months.

Healthy weight loss will be to lose 1-2 pounds per week. But when you first starting out you can lose about 4-8 pounds or even higher. So after the first spike try to lose only 1-2 pound per week.

i have heard for a healthy weight loss that u can keep off, set a goal of 2-3 lbs loss a week.
