Does anyone know any good tips on how to lose weight for someone who does not have a thyroid? -

The key to losing weight is the same for anyone, consumer fewer calories than you need on a daily basis. I would also assume that you are on Thyroxin? You might need to have your doctor up the dosage. Finally, exercise is the answer, even if you are just walking a few miles a day. In the end losing weight is simple math, use more than you take in.

Thyroid levels. If you do not have thyroid levels correctly, weight loss will be almost impossible. If you are on T4, this means you needcthe morning TSH around 1.0. You also need to be converting enough of the T4 to T3 as evidenced b a midrange or above free t3 level. If you are on T4/T3, then you need a midrange free t4 and a high in range free t3. Levels are the most important part of losing weight when hypothyroid.Once you ve got levels correct, decrease carbs and increase fiber. Work up to exercising at least 4 times a week for at least an hour a day. You can break up the exercise to 2 half hour sessions or three 20 minute sessions. The important thing is to get in an hour.Join diet thyroid forum link below
