The following healthy living recommendations will help you if youre trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:*1) Burn more calories then you re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/Get an online, desktop, or cell phone diet and fitness calculator. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities. Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight: Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htTeens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/wIt is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. Don t diet. look at the changes that you want to make in your life and do so by saying that I am changing my lifestyle That s how I lost 35 lbs in the past year and a half or so. I made a promise to myself that i would change my lifestyle and be healthier. I don t drink any soda, i only drink water, an occasional iced tea and i have my cup of coffee in the morning. I drink soy milk on my cereal, and eat smaller portions. Take a look at things that you do on a regular basis that are bad habits with regards to preventing your weight loss. For me, my biggest challenge was not finishing everything on my plate, i was raised to do that, now if i get full, i don t push myself to finish my meal. Another option would be to keep a food diary. That makes it to where you don t want to eat some foods b/c you have to right them down on paper. Another pointer, it is okay to go ahead and occasionally have that candy bar, moderation is the key. Exercise will also help to cut your weight, start by walking for 20-30 minutes a day to begin to boost your metabolism, and also eat after you exercise b/c your body will continue to burn calories up to 6 hours after exercise, just try not to take in more calories than you likely burned. Good luck, you can change your lifestyle.

Hun you need to be sure that you want lose weight you need to learn to say no no tank you and close your mouth only eat the healthy food that only at home you can find drink lots of water and do exercise every day for 5 days in roll and you going to see the difference soon

Hi Puffmuffin!I would ck out our website. It is currently free and is all about your question. However, let me answer your question. You need to create a calorie deficit for yourself, which means your body will turn to body fat for an energy source. This is called burning fat. Without going into a lot of math and terms, let me just tell you to keep your calories at or below 1500/day. Then try and stay active. You don t have to pair certain foods together or workout like an animal to get results. All you need to do is be active. Walk instead of drive. Take stairs instead of elevators. Walk your dog, go shopping, etc. You do this and your weight should melt off. Good luck!Trainer Greggregg@keptaccountable.comwww.keptaccountable.comWe help you reach fitness or any other type of goals through accountability. Keep me accountable

when I was your age, I was 5 5 tall and weighed 145 pounds. It wasn t easy, but I ate nothing but small portions (no more than 1 can/meal) of tuna fish and very small amounts of bread, or even soda crackers. I drank water and milk only, and also played soccer and ran every day. I 2 weeks, I lost 15 pounds and kept it off for many years. I understand your weight may be more of a challenge, but you CAN do it! Just be stubborn. At this point, look at hunger as your friend. When you re hungry, it means your body is burning fat! I did it, and you can too! Best of luck, and God bless.

Don t eat much and exercise.Good luck.

just keep on excerciseing and eating right

This is what I do:I eliminated one full meal and, since I love to snack, I allow myself to graze in place of the full meal. I found that the full meal was giving me more calories than just snacking on healthy stuff like sunflower kernels, walnuts, popcorn and even chocolate (get a good chocolate, though, like Hershey s...don t buy junk choc with high-fructose corn syrup in it). Also: NO Regular Soda! Try a bunch of different diet sodas if you really like your fizz (I drink Diet Shasta with Splenda or Diet Coke with Splenda). Otherwise, iced tea is cheap and practically calorie free (if you must sweeten it, buy Splenda packets...I know I sound like a company spokeswoman, but I m not, I just love the stuff).I ve lost 20 pounds in two and a half months and my clothes are looser and my double chin is gone! Slow and steady really is the key. I never accepted that until now (I m 35). I wish I d have thought of it at 13!Since I waited so long for this epiphany, my knees are bad, so I ll wait a bit longer to do weight-bearing exercises, but YOU are young enough to start lifting weights and making calorie-hungry muscles. Start small, like 1-2 pound hand weights and work your way up to higher. Go to your library and check out a book like weight lifting for dummies.Good luck kid...and never mind the skinny ones who make fun of you...once they pop out a pup or two, they ll look like ripe old pears (tiny tops and bulging bottoms!).

What height are you? A healthy approximate scale is that for 5 feet a healthy weight would be around 100 lbs. After every inch, you add 5 pounds. So 5 1=105 lbs, 5 2= 110 lbs., etc.First figure out what weight is proportionate to your height. If it is a lot of weight you have to lose, it is fair to say that you need more than a week to lose the weight. But losing maybe 5-10 lbs. would be a resonable amount to lose before school starts. Start eating more fruits and vegetables more than any other food you eat. Exercise as often as possible. Losing weight will give you confidence as well as a healthier lifestyle. ...Burn more calories than you eat. It s the only way to lose weight. And don t give up if you don t see immediate results-that s a mistake a lot of people make. Losing weight isn t as easy at it seems.
