The problem with loosing weight fast is that people generally will not do it in a healthy manner, also people will do it so fast that it has a negative affect. I know nothing about the affectiveness of pills, but I do know that if you stop eating junkfood, replace whole milk with skim/low-fat milk (do the same with orange juice and other high-calorie juices) , not drink carbonated drinks, and eat till your full (not stuffed), and you will start loosing weight (I have lost 20 pounds just doing this), but if you add 30+ mins of cardiovascular exercises then you will loose weight in no time. (well a month or so), but this would be the healthy way, in my eyes.
Im not sure if they are herbal, but the new FDA diet pill Alli is suppose to come out in a month or so. I heard that they are to be one of the best. Check them out....

never aim to loose weight fast aim for 2lb a week as this is attainable. drink plenty of water. eat breakfast and a sensible meal every 3 hours there after to prevent snacking. this also keeps your metabolism up and tells your body your not starving dont go for pills as these will rarely work and may weel just be a placebo or sugar pill which makes you think theyre working when theyre not

dont get pills my friend is in the hospital b/c she drank pills to loose weight ....do exersice. eat healthy .dance swim do anything that gets ur heart pumping dont end up like my friend
