My mom needs to gain some 20 or 30lbs. What things can I get her to eat to help her GAIN weight? -

My mom needs foods that help with gaining weight, not losing MORE. What foods can I get her to eat to gain the weight that she needs. Do not answer this question if you are going to put how to lose weight or what sites help you lose weight. I need her to gain it, if it is okay with you. Please help me, we pick her up next weekend. I want to be ready to be able to help her.

To gain weight an be healthy you need to consume more calories every day from healthy foods and choose the right types of exercise.Increasing your intake of junk foods and greasy foods is not a good way to gain weight. Junk foods usually contain unhealthy trans fats or saturated fats. Even though you need to increase your calorie consumption to gain weight, those calories should come from foods that are good for you.Healthy fats include omega-3 essential fatty acids sources like tuna, salmon, flax, and walnuts. Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, poultry, nuts, seeds and legumes. Healthy carbohydrate sources include fruits, vegetables and whole grains.It may be easier to eat five or six smaller balanced meals per day rather than eating three large meals, especially if you are not used to eating much at one sitting.Protein powders and nutritional supplement drinks such as Ensure can be added as in-between meal snacks if you still need more calories. If your mother is in a hospital, or other medical facility there should be a nutritionist on staff. She is probably already on a special diet that helps to increase her weight, so you can request a consultation with the nutritionist. This person can provide you with a list of foods and beverages that will assist your mother in gaining weight. There are several beverages specifically made for this purpose that you can buy at the grocery store. BOOST and ENSURE are just two of them.

If she suffers from anorexia, slowly introducing foods and particularly liquid supplements while emphasising the concept of healthy eating rather than weight gain will make it easier to handle. If she lost a lot of weight due to illness, and that s over, then heavy starchy foods are the way to go. Whatever she does, make sure she sleeps for half an hour after every meal.

Pop/Soda.Junk food in gerneral.Fry food with grease.Choose high calories in food and bigger portions of meals.Eat during the night time.I hope she is ok ;)

try putting some weight gain powder in her drink.. i do it to my mom when I m mad at her :P
