Cut down the calories, but never go lower than about 1600- it won t be healthy. Running is amazing exercise- its cardio, it helps your lungs, leg muscles, et cetera. Try finding somewhere where you actually like to run- as in, I love running cross country, but I hate track and treadmills. I would suggest doing 400-800 meter intervals sprinted, with a few miles jogged/walked. Find exercises you actually enjoy doing. Yes, exercise is never going to be fun (YAY! I get to exercise today!) (unless you love running like me :)) but you shouldn t push yourself so hard that you are absolutely dying- then you begin hating exercising and don t want to do them; you ll put them off, you ll skip workouts... so, push yourself, but don t dread the workout. Dieting- fruits and veggies- yay! Antioxidants and low-calorie. Eat fresh whenever possible- canned foods have much higher salt content. If fresh isn t an option, frozen is 2nd best.Keep snacks like yogurt, granola, fruit, edamame, unsalted nuts, et cetera, around the house. Its so much easier of you can get your family to support you, because then you don t have to be tempted by the crap snacks they leave lying around. Food diaries help- they make you realize what your eating habits are, what you need to change, et cetera. Eat 7 M Ms? Write that down too. I m the sort who continually wanders around crabbing a few Cheez-Its there, a handful of popcorn there, a few crackers there (actually, quite a lot of people I know do this) and it all adds up. Try joining a sport team- its probably too late for a winter sport, but most track teams are no-cut, even if you don t run in meets you can still train with the team. Ok, i m a teen too. I keep fit by doing a lot of exercise, eating healthy and making myself more organised... Keep a diary of what you do and if you find anything that you might want to cancel out - do it!!! Also, i really don t understand why we worry about our wieght soooo much. it s just not right.Hope i helped!!Plus - 1. control yourself near sweets and2. go out and play in some team sports - whatever the weather!!! ^__^
